I hadn't booked a table but they were very welcoming and was able to seat, we were a little hesitate at first as we went so late and thought there wouldn't be much.
How wrong was I all meat, potatoes and fresh vegetables were coming out as we went up to get the carvery.

Came out the The Allerford on 03/05/2025 for a family meal woth some friends.
Lovely looking, massive venue. Sat inside, it was very warm. We were sat in the floral room.
Server was very polite. The food wasnt fast, but acceptable given a very busy Saturday. Food was very tasty, The Allefoelrd Chicken was exceptional.
We went outside after rhe meal and the kids enjoyed the play area and bouncy castle. Reallt gorgeous scenery. We will be back.

Have been coming to The Allerford for the last year. So impressed with every event that the team have put on. My favourite thing to do is coming on Sunday for on of there delicious roasts ❤️. So accommodating for all ages and will carry on coming with family and friends.

I really can't praise the team at the Allerford enough. Really great food served by helpful, smiley and a professional team. Nothing was too much trouble.

We recently had pur baby son passed away and we approached the Allerford to ask them to hold the wake for us. They kindly did this for us free of charge. They helped us to set up the room as we wanted it as well as put on a lovely spread of food and had a great area for kids to play (as we wanted to make it child friendly). Thank you so much for making such a hard day better for us. We highly recommend these lovely people and this great establishment.

We were there today for baby Brice's celebration of his life ,the pub is amazing ,so was the food and lovely friendly staff highly recommended will definitely go there again ,on a happier occasion 😁

10/10 Amazing food, service and atmosphere. We went for a carvery on Mother’s Day and couldn’t have wished for a better meal. The meat was cooked to perfection and there was a great range of potatoes and vegetables on offer. All the staff were very friendly and the chef even gave me advice on how to cook my beef at home. Thank you to the whole team.

The reason I have given 3 stars is that although the food etc was very good, we paid a 30 pound deposit beforehand, for a carvery on the 2nd March. We didn't realise until later that the deposit hadn't been taken off the bill. 3 phone calls later and still hasn't been entered into the bank. Just be aware when paying deposits.

Visited the Allerford inn last night,Amazing! Home cooked food,great presentation and the staff couldn’t do enough for us,we felt very welcome,outstanding food and service,this is definitely a place to visit,the deserts are amazing too,we have already booked to return,the whole experience I cannot fault at all and it was very clean,also has a lovely play area for children,well worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very quiet location in the middle of nowhere but next to a train line which will entertain young children. Staff know their products and menu very well. Food was well presented with good portions but not too much and Very reasonably priced. Ideal location for an event or wedding reception. It has a large fenced garden with a play park. I assume it is family run. It is off the beaten track but well worth the effort to get there. The Allerford chicken was excellent.

Lovely spot just outside of Taunton.

Brought my family here for a carvery as a birthday treat.
We were welcomed with smiles as soon as we stepped through the door.
The carvery chef was friendly and efficient.
Our food was great, no complaints from the kids and the brownie was a favourite for our little ones.

Have been here a few times since new owners have taken over. Sunday carvery is so good with a large variety of meats and vegetables and so reasonably priced. Also been for lunch and dinner as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed it - great staff and love the new owners

Lovely pub and very kind staff but found the carvery just above average but from reviews it might have been an off day.
It's a small but very busy pub with lots of customers which shows it's popularity.
We walked in and only took 5 minutes to get to the bar and be sat. The atmosphere where we were seated was great as it was the smaller area which helped with noise but found where the carvery was served very loud but it's a large room so acoustics doesn't help.
We found it affordable as much as any other carvery. I opted for beef and pork for meats and had much of the veg.
The pork had great flavour and the dauphinoise potatoes were amazing with a great creamy garlic flavour. I very much enjoyed the red cabbage and peas but found the roast potatoes disappointing and the parsnips hard. But you cannot win everything, overall I enjoyed the meal.
I would love to go back again as the scenery around the inn was lovely and the staff were amazing.
I give 4 stars out of 5 but I would like to go again and rate it 5.

It was a lovely day for a Sunday roast. Me and my Mrs enjoyed it a lot. Very very good beef. A Really nice spot for a lovely quiet dinner

Our 2nd visit since the new owners/management have been at The Allerford, both for a Sunday carvery.
We booked this time for 12 of us for our daughter’s 1st birthday as a little celebration with family, absolutely beautiful food, great service, friendly staff 😊 we can’t wait for our next visit already!

We used The Allerford Inn for our wedding venue, it was absolutely perfect and more than what we dreamt of. The staff were incredible and helped me make my dream a reality. No matter how much I stressed in the lead up to the wedding the staff took on that load and helped to make everything run smoothly so I could just relax on the day and just enjoy it. With a very short turn around I only had 8 weeks to plan my wedding from start to finish but Shane put me at ease and we had the most perfect magical day. If anyone is thinking of having The Allerford Inn for their wedding venue I 100% recommend!
The food was amazing, we had so many compliments at how tasty it all was and the selection, there was something for everyone.
