The Fox at Bulmer Tye, Sudbury is owned by Gusto Pronto, the independent family-owned business behind The Crown at Hartest and the brewery Brewshed just outside Bury St Edmunds. Their ethos is simple - to serve great food and drinks in a welcoming atmosphere, open to all.
Friendly & attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere. My husband’s rump steak was slightly over cooked but was a very clean cut with no gristle. Proper chips would have been a bonus. My skate wing was a huge disappointment. . . too much butter making it very greasy and only half a wing so not a very big portion size. Waitress explained at the end that they buy in big skate wings and portion them up, but as I didn’t get what I thought I was getting, the manager took the price of the skate off the bill. Had deserts which were homemade but probably wouldn’t bother with them in the future as they were not that special.

The Secret Garden Café, Wine Bar and Restaurant
The secret garden is both a popular café , Wine Bar and restaurant, in premises next to each other on Friars Street, in Sudbury.
It was our first visit and we loved it. The food was delicious and so was the wine. We had food from both the menu, and their specials board; the balance of flavours worked really well. The service was great, both friendly banter and efficient . The staff even put up with my husband’s jokes. We sat outside as the evening was warm, and it gave us a European feel which was just perfect. As a local venue we couldn’t recommend it enough. We look forward to visiting again soon.

I was so nervous to leave my 1 year old twins with a nursery so I spent weeks researching the nursery’s in Sudbury and visiting them. Woodpeckers really stood out to me above the rest so I enrolled my twins. I honestly could not of picked a better place for my children. They settled in so fast and have loved every single day there over the past year. They have learnt so much and been treated in an amazing way. I cannot fault the school or the teachers they have working there. Deirdre and Jeff are honestly the most accommodating business owners I have ever met. I would highly recommended this nursery.
