We have just returned from a fantastic evening at The Fox in Bulmer Tye. We had a three course meal, with drinks, and couldn't be happier with the experience. I chose white bait as a starter (which was superb) and my wife had a pork crackling appetiser as a starter due to some really difficult-to-manage dietary requirements.
We ordered the 28 Oz sirloin steak as a shared main, medium rare. It was cooked to perfection and served with chips, mushrooms and tomatoes. Just enough accompaniment, but the aged steak was the star.
For dessert, those dietary requirements came in again but we were well recommended and my wife had a brownie with blackberry sorbet and I had the chocolate torte.
The meal was just amazing. Our waiter, Gary, went out of his way to make sure that everything was appropriate for my wife's requirements and I want to say a huge thank you to him and the kitchen for making it such a special evening.

A lovely evening with great food and wonderful service! The staff are all absolutely fantastic, in particular Gary and Ruby but all were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us.

We went for our anniversary. It was our first time, we thought we’d give it a try as we’re both steak lovers. It was great! The food was amazing and our server Mia was really nice, lovely smile, great service. We said we’d go back and recommend others to visit. Thank you!

Sunday lunch - first off, the beef and the yorkies/gravy were excellent.
The panache of veg was odd - some brown parsnips, under seasoned cabbage, bland cauliflower cheese, a load of red onions (just weird) and one carrot chopped into six bits. Almost as if they’d run out of veg and were scrambling about in the walk in to see what they could bulk it out with.
The roast potatoes were as bad as the beef was good. Al dente would be an understatement.

Great pub, tasty food, the best thing is the friendly service. We were served by Fran and Mia, they were so helpful with the menu and absolutely charming.

Stopped off at the Fox on our way home from a day out. The restaurant has a good choice of food both on the starters and main courses as well as a specials menu. The food was very good and well presented. In addition the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyable experience

Very clean and presentable restaurant with extremely friendly staff. Lots of variety which caters for all dietary requirements. I would highly recommend !! Also being one of my family and friends regulars.

Friendly & attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere. My husband’s rump steak was slightly over cooked but was a very clean cut with no gristle. Proper chips would have been a bonus. My skate wing was a huge disappointment. . . too much butter making it very greasy and only half a wing so not a very big portion size. Waitress explained at the end that they buy in big skate wings and portion them up, but as I didn’t get what I thought I was getting, the manager took the price of the skate off the bill. Had deserts which were homemade but probably wouldn’t bother with them in the future as they were not that special.

Dropped in to The Fox at Bulmer as I needed somewhere quiet to work. The team were really welcoming and went out of their way to find me a corner to use my laptop. I stayed for glass of wine pf the week with dinner. Wow the food is excellent, very well presented, hot and delicious. I had the Chicken Stitzel, cooked perfectly.
Loved the anchovies on the Caesar salad.

Meal for two plus small dog. I had the lamb burger which was really nice. My partner had the pigeon wellington - a pigeon virgin - and he loved it. Both were from the spring menu.

We’ve had some very average Sunday lunches over the years but very pleased to say that our lunch at The Fox today was absolutely delicious. Hot, tasty and plentiful food served with good humour and just enough ‘service’. We will be back.
