Staff were rude, unhelpful, was told I'd have a fitness review after three weeks at my sign up and was never acknowledged again. When I went to cancel my membership the receptionist was very rude and unnecessary and I will not be going there again in a hurry.
Reply from Emma R: THE SHREWSBURY CLUB replied: "Dear Jade. Many thanks for your comments; following our conversations I have now fully investigated the matter. I’m sorry that your initial experiences of the club were not as we would have hoped; we aim to ensure that all new members receive a personal program with ongoing follow up to help them to achieve their goals. It seems in your case there was a delay in rebooking a follow up session – this seems to have been due to a misunderstanding as we generally advise the member to book in when they are ready. We suggest that this should be after around 3 weeks. We are currently reviewing our new member follow up within the club, so the system should prompt us to call you. This will mean that misunderstandings such as this have less of an impact as we’ll be more proactive in contacting new members. We are also reviewing our procedure concerning dealing with members that wish to cancel. We are sorry to see any member leave, however aim to ensure that we still offer a great service during the cancellation period – although in this case again we fell a little short. We hope ex members are left with a positive impression of us, and in the future will consider coming back to us. Now we have spoken, I am glad to hear that this is the case with you and that you are planning on re-joining once your study commitments have decreased."

The Shrewsbury Club is an excellent tennis/fitness/leisure facility. The staff are always exceptionally helpful and the facilities are superb. Indoor tennis is excellent and catering very good. I love playing there!
