I think a better question would be: When are we not craving some unique and exciting art? We would get bored looking at the same piece of art over and over again; we need to broaden our horizons and think outside the box - otherwise, what’s the point?
The Lowry has always been about supplying us with art, from its namesake to its presentation of a range of art forms so it makes sense that it is The Lowry that is providing the local people with that “new thing”. Introducing their brand spanking new, “Performer as Curator” exhibition series.
This is an exhibition that sees art works selected from collections across the globe, not picked at random, but picked by Performers from popular culture. The Performers will select art that reflects their own creative inspirations through painters, filmmakers, illustrators and photographers. This is a fantastic and fascinating insight to the performers we look up to.
First up in this exclusive exhibition series is musician Alison Goldfrapp, famous for being lead vocalist in the music duo “Goldfrapp”. Alison has enjoyed international recognition for worldwide hits such as “Strict Machine”, “Ooh La La” and much much more!
