People of the Cheese, we bring you not one, not two, not three but five cheeses of the month – because you are worth it!

To celebrate Oswestry Home Grown and  Apple Day on Saturday 19th October, we are inviting you to come and whet you taste buds in our special cheese pairing event.  We will be exploring, and tasting a selection of cheeses with some of the fab local apples, pears and other seasonal fruit and nuts.

Our five deliciously ripe and ready cheeses are:-

Snowdownia  “Black Bomber” cheddar – wearing its own elegant dinner jacket, this cheese is mature, well balanced and mellow – almost clooneyesque!.

Godminster Organic Black Pepper Brie – a unique taste experience, the smooth creaminess of the brie and little explosions of cracked black pepper.

Shropshire Cheese Co - Marches  Blue – a firm local favourite! -  an award winning blue veined semi hard cheese with that umm umami tongue feel.

Belton’s Cheshire – crumbly, slightly tangy and salty – utterly lovely on its own but a winner with fruit.

The Original Cheddar Co.  Scrumpy Apple Cider Cheddar.   Authentic farmhouse Cheddar cheese blended with Scrumpy cider and apple, a classic flavour of Somerset.

Take advantage of the extraordinarily bountiful harvest this year and enjoy your own tasting – a goodly cheeseboard, some ripe apples and pears, a handful of nuts, maybe a slice of ham or two and a well chosen glass of ale, wine or cider – a perfect autumn early supper.

As well as our fantastic cheeses, we will be selling our Apple Day special sausages – Pork and Apple and Pork, Stilton and Pear. Perfect!
