Hitchin accountants Bradshaw Johnson are in the forefront of a change to probate services. They’re the only chartered accountants in North Herts offering the service to consumers.
Until a few years ago, only solicitors were legally allowed to undertake probate for executors of a will.
“Many clients complain about the cost of probate,” said Partner Stephen Pike. “We’ve been actively working with the Institute of Chartered Accountants and I’m on the steering committee to open up probate services to other organisations.
“It’s an obvious connection, as much of the probate process is similar to our work in accounting with clients. In the rare event that cases become contentious, we work with local lawyers.”
The Bradshaw Johnson firm structure already suited probate work, with a pyramid of well-qualified staff who can operate competitively and efficiently at what is often a difficult time for people following a bereavement.
Most of Bradshaw Johnson’s work comes from existing clients and referrals, but they’re available to everyone and offer peace of mind at a difficult time.
