Buy tickets in advance, it is cheaper but you still need to queue up. We went on a sunny Saturday and it still wasn't too busy. Plenty of parking just a bit of a trek to the entrance. Loads of animals to see. Beautiful zoo with flowers and natural looking spaces. The exhibits were great. I would recommend going to the talks as they were well informed and engaging. The facilities are great, kept clean and regularly available. Pram and wheelchair friendly. Great food. Excellent day out for everyone at a budget friendly price for the full day of activities.

I stumbled across this place online as I was looking to take my son somewhere with dinosaurs and Hertfordshire Zoo popped up.
Let me say if your children loves dinosaurs then you won't be disappointed.

We arrived and were directed to the car park across the road, easy to park. But be aware to get to the otherside you need to cross one of those not so busy country roads but its one of those roads where by its a speed limit of 60mph ( according to my satnav)

It's then a 5 minute walk to the park entrance.

Upon entry you queue up and wait for a window to open up, it was a bit chaotic but once to the window the staff member was friendly and stamped our wrists gave us a map and we were in.

It took a bit to get used to our surroundings, we started with the dinosaurs first, so we'll laid out and it's awesome how they do it. Lots of recommended selfie spots as well. Also under each dinosaur is a fact file.
I would say if your child is sensitive to loud noises then bring ear defenders as the dinosaurs are obviously loud.

Then we did the dino train which is £2pp and does one loop of the dinosaur enclosure to see it from a different angle.

We then got a bit confused about how to get to the Zoo animals but looked at the map and saw the crossing to the other side.
There are lots of animals to see and we were lucky as lots of them were out and wandering around in their enclosures.
The Zoo is clean, and big but it doesn't feel too big. Lots of fun facts about animals are dotted around the Zoo.

We then went back to the dinosaur area grabbed a bench and ordered some chips they were reasonable for a large portion. Again staff were friendly and everywhere you go you get asked if you're a member.
I also ordered some doughnuts which were awful, overcooked, hard and greasy, instantly regretted getting them!!

There are plenty of playgrounds, an indoor soft play cafe - which we used once the lunchtime rush had ended - a water splash pad/pool.

Plenty of places to sit and eat, either your own food or the onsite food. Also lots of gif shops.

Exiting the Zoo is a bit weird especially when there are lots of people exiting at the same time. You have to go through one gate, wait for that to close before you can then press the exit button for the other gate.

All in all a good day out, and we will definitely be returning.

Spend the entire Sunday here with my family ( two young toddlers ) and enjoy it to bits ! The kids loved the dinosaur park and plenty of play areas for them too. Good selection of zoo animals to get them excited but not tire them out completely. Park facilities are clean and well laid out. Tickets are wee bit expensive but no regrets. Must visit if you have young ones in family.

We attended the Summer Night event. It was brilliant. Wish they were doing it in July and August. The entertainment was fantastic and the summer drinks were great. Queues for the food were really long but we read reviews beforehand so decided to bring our own picnic.

This zoo, despite the small size of the grounds, has a fantastic range of things to see, with beautifully landscaped enclosures. We never felt like we were too far away to reach a particular talk we wanted to listen to, and the keepers are obviously passionate about their charges. The dinosaur walk was wonderful - with a few fun surprises.

The dinosaur park is soooo thrilling!! We love it. I like that it is not too big that you have to walk too far from place to place but still showing interesting things. Food are a bit limited.

Pretty good considering it's a lot smaller than most zoos. Nice selection of animals, plenty of places for the humans to visit. You can do the whole place in 3~4 hours. Slightly disappointing exhibits for non-mammals, no aquarium and only a handful of snakes and reptiles.

Visited yesterday and had the most amazing experience! Clean, organised, interesting and beautifully designed. Every member of staff we came across was lovely, friendly and looked happy to work there. A big plus for me is that you can see that the zoo is designed to respect the animals and that they do really care for their wellbeing. Overall very lovely experience, highly recommend to also attend the zoo talks they have throughout the day.

Nice day out for local area. Ticket prices reasonable. Good parking. Very friendly staff, all helpful and smiley. Lots of benches and tables available for eating and drinking. Plenty toilets which were clean. Shame we didn't get to see jaguar, tigers leopards and few other big cats, think they were hiding due to the hot weather. Overall a good day out.
