Great visit – quiet, relaxed and perfect for a toddler

We visited Hertfordshire Zoo on a Monday morning with four adults and a just under two-year-old, and it was the perfect time to go. It was really quiet with no queues, which made the whole experience much more relaxed, especially with a young child.

The zoo is well laid out and easy to get around, and our little one loved seeing the animals without crowds around. It felt calm and unhurried, which made a big difference.

The ticket price was great as there was a 25% discount, which made the visit excellent value for money. We also stopped for food and were pleasantly surprised – the food staff were great, very friendly and helpful, and the food itself was really nice. The only downside is that the food was a bit expensive, but that’s fairly standard for attractions like this.

Overall, a lovely visit and a great day out for both adults and toddlers. We’d definitely recommend visiting early in the week if you can.

Lovely family run zoo with excellent keepers and that seems to invest the money back into the animals

Great place for families, especially with kids. Lots of animals to see, well looked after, and the dinosaur area is a big hit. Clean, well organised, and a really enjoyable day out. Definitely worth visiting.

A fun zoo. We travelled to see the new Rufus Sengi (elephant shrew), one of only two pairs in the UK. We did see them unfortunately there was alot of condensation on their window and you couldn't go close because they are settling in so no good pics. The animals have large enclosures with much enrichment. Many you can see from ground level and elevated enclosures which is lovely and great for photography. The bird display is educational and has more unusual birds such as the kookaburra and caracara. The cafes have food that is better value and taste than your average tourist attraction. Shops worth a visit. The dinosaurs are worth a visit. Animatronic and some great Instagramable photo ops if that's your thing. Some good to with a bit of a refresh, but it's a nice extra. The park is quiet on weekends between after Halloween and pre Xmas activities.

So sad, all the snow leopard done was pace up and down all day. Poor thing the enclosure is so small aswell I felt so sorry for it. Looked so bored. Made me so upset.
Other than that the kids enjoyed it so thank you.

I had the pleasure of returning not as a visitor, but as a keynote speaker working with ~100 zoologists and educators from zoos all across the country. Some excellent work going on!

Fantastic Zoo! We visited because 'One Zoo Three' on CBBC is our sons favourite programme. The staff are so friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Cam and Aaron very kindly had a photo with our son. He nearly burst with happiness when meeting his idols. Simon is a fantastic asset to the zoo. Chatted to us for a while about our shared love of tortoises. Our son would love to work with Simon when he's older.

Renewed membership for 7 years straight. Great place to take children when needing something to do. High quality zoo et al.

I do wish you had a bring a non member for free once a month/ year. That would be a good benefit.

We got tickets and the behind the scenes morning tour and would 100% recommend. Despite the torrential rain Simon gave us a lovely and informative tour really tailoring it to myself and my boyfriend which was a great start to our day before wandering around ourselves. We saw almost all the animals despite the weather and all the keepers were so friendly! It doesn't look much on the map but we managed to spend 4 hours at the zoo as just two adults not using any play equipment or looking at the dinosaur trail.

It was 2019. For my husband 70th birthday we got him "Feed the Tigers" experience. The Tiger was Elana. Absolutely stunning animal. Along with the keeper he hand fed her. The whole day was just wonderful. All the animals seemed well fed and happy.

Great little Zoo! One of the best kept we've been to & the animal enclosires are brilliantly designed with glass viewing and a couple with Cafes adjoining enabling you to sit and jave a coffee while looking through at the animals (Sun bears, tigers etc!). Will 100% be back
