Fantastic day out for little ones with plenty to do , loads of animals , play parks , and dinosaurs . Food and gift shop prices are reasonable compared to others . Highly recommended will come again

We had the BEST day at Hertfordshire zoo! Everything about it is incredible and so well thought out. The animals have amazing enclosures, everything is so natural and takes the animals well being into account more than anything. As an SEN mum, I also really appreciated the smaller touches, such as the 'sensory warnings' in high traffic, high sensory areas; also the allergy support visible in the park. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, every time we stopped at a shop or cafe, we were asked how we were finding everything, staff were offering info about the history of the zoo, or tips about the best time and place to see our favourite animals. Would recommend a visit to everyone! Incredible zoo, our best day out for a long time!

I visited with my 18 month old, she absolutely loves animals. It was so nice to see a lot of enclosures you could go into and really see the animals up close. They have everything there for kids, including a splash pool, lovely big park and soft play! We ended our day with soft play which was the cherry on top of her day. We also upgraded to membership so we can keep going back there!

We have opted for the family membership so visit once or twice a month. It’s a great Zoo to let the kids run around and the talks are always very interesting and engaging. Plenty of development happening to always and interesting visit

On Saturday was our first family trip to Hertfordshire zoo, we have been to the big cat sanctuary in headcorn Kent and thought going to the zoo would be great

The zoo was in our opinion the best in the UK , the layout of the zoo is great with lots of space , activities & animals to see

The food we had at lunch was very nice & reasonable priced , managed after lunch to listen to a few of the talks in the afternoon with the bird show , tapir & capybara talk

One of the reasons for going to the tapir & capybara talk was the chance to see the new baby tapir , right on cue during the talk the baby tapir came out his inside area to say hello to everyone , which my wife and daughter were amazed to see !

Hertfordshire zoo is a great zoo & we will definitely be planning another visit very soon

Excellent place to visit really well laid out and far easier to push a double buggy around on good flat pathways than Colchester Zoo
We went with 4 children aged 3-6 and they had a great time which made the big people's trip stress free!
The dinosaur walkway was very well done and the animatronics of them were good.
Into dinosaur and want animals then go it's good 👍

Хороший зоопарк, много животных, много мест для отдыха от впечатлений. Животные выглядят ухоженными.

Единственное, что действительно плохо — еда. Просто жуть.

What an amazing day we all had!
The dinosaures were brilliant, and kept the children, engaged and excited.
I was a little bit surprised that the dino train is £2 per person to ride. But we still did it, and it was fun.
All the animals are very clean and healthy looking.
You can easily spend an entire day here, with parks for the children to play in, plenty of eating areas and benches to sit.
I am already looking forward to another visit.
100% recommend this place

Editing to add, unfortunately this place is completely cashless, which is disappointing

Nice compact zoo, well maintained and animals kept in good conditions. Enjoyed the bird display and seeing the tiger right next to our table through the glass in the paws and pizza café. Lots of other things to keep children entertained for the whole day including dinosaurs, train, soft play and playground.

We had a great day at Hertfordshire Zoo and really enjoyed our visit.

The dinosaurs were brilliant and probably one of our favourite parts of the day. We also loved seeing the lions, and the bird display was really good and well worth stopping for.

There was plenty to see and do and we easily spent a good few hours wandering around. The whole place feels like it’s had a lot of investment and care put into it and we all came away having had a really enjoyable day.

Definitely worth a visit and we’d happily go back.

Took my 3 yr old grandson and daughter he loved the dinosaur park. We went round twice. The splash park was great except for 4 older boys running and splashing little ones but he still loved it. The animals were mainly visible and looked healthy, though the tiger was just walking its perimeter the whole time, it looked alone?
Loved the entertainment for the little ones with animated dinosaur looking for his mum.
On the whole, i highly recommend, maybe need staff to monitor the splash pool every now and again?
