Went to the summer evening event and loved every second of it. Animals looked happy and well looked after.

Very nice day out - good value, well run and maintained facilities, friendly staff. Good food in the restaurant that doesn't take advantage of "captive audience" pricing too much. The animals are great (but not a big animal zoo, big cats aside) and the dinosaur part is surprisingly well done and the animatronic dinos aren't cheesy.
Definitely recommend for a family day out

My first visit to the Zoo - and it was brilliant! The Dinosaur walk through was amazing. So many moving, roaring, tail swishing giants to see. The Zoo while not massive had plenty of animals to see and get up close with. The play areas were a big hit, too. And the little train ride was superb. I will definitely return with my family. 10/10

Great day out, although rather costly at over £80 for 3 people - one of which was a child. A bit of a piss take asking for payment for the mini train on top of that.. Plenty of shade in this hot sunny weather. A lot of the animals were not visible - I guess due to the hot weather.

Took our 2yo granddaughter there for a day out
Better to buy in advance (on web) and possibly annual membership

We bought our 8-year-old son a junior zookeeper experience for his birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We went behind the scenes to meet animals such the giant tortoise and the penguins. Our guide (Simon) was fantastic - extremely knowledgeable and brilliant with our boy (funny, engaging, personable - he really made our day!).
The zoo as a whole is great. Extremely clean and modern, with loads of facilities for families. The food was of a good quality, big portions, and reasonably priced.
I would 100% recommend!

Very kids-friendly, more of a hybrid between a childrens’ park and a zoo, than a traditional zoo like Whipsnade Zoo. While this might be less attractive to purists, the existence of kid friendly activities like a playground, mini golf, soft play area, etc. make this zoo a much more attractive destination for families with small children.

Great zoo, all ways like coming here. Just one thing that needs attention. The crossing between the over flow car park and the zoo, needs some sort of traffic lights or safety control. On the way out a child nearly ran into the road! Once in the park it's all excellent

Have to say quality over quantity. Not many animals to see but you can get up and close with most of them. Dinosaurs are also well executed. Many places to sit and eat, have a picnic. Food are on the pricier side. Make a note of times of animal feeding, animal talks and shows to get the most out of the visit. Car park more than adequate on a sunny school holiday(weekday).

I love this zoo but it's costing nearly £100 for 2 adult carers and a child, that's without rail fair and cabs. I used to visit 2 to 3 times a year but this is crazy prices. Such a shame

Małe, ale ciekawe i przemyślane. Jest sporo zwierząt, moje ulubione surykatki i cudowna panda czerwona. Dużo miejsc gdzie można usiąść i odpocząć. Dużo toalet. Wydzielone miejsce dla palących. Duży darmowy parking. Miła obsługa.
Lot of interesting animals to see, especially the cute red panda. Lots of place to rest and stretch your legs. Spacious car park is totally free. Highly recommend.

Really fun day out! Definitely fun for the whole day and the whole family and the dinosaurs animatronics are honestly brilliant, they’re absolutely HUGE and the park has really done them justice! The animals in the safari are great too, lots of view points of the animals and kids were loving it!

BUT bring a packed lunch because the food is AWFUL. Paid £17 for 2 burgers and two fries and they were so, so bad. At the very least just avoid the safari diner! Everything else is great!

Buy tickets in advance as it’s an extra pound per ticket if you purchase when you arrive

PLEASE NOTE: revisited the park today after the changeover, DO NOT use the soft play area if you value your kids safety. They have one member of staff for the entire area (which is huge) and the staff stays at the counter. Big kids speeding around the toddler pen (despite clear signs that it’s for toddlers only) and no one is around to ensure they keep out, incredibly unsafe for little babies who are just trying to have some fun too.
Parents just leave their kids to run wild and don’t consider anyone else’s babies. We even witnessed a very small baby being pushed violently in a swing by their sibling which is what urged us to tell staff in the first place. Just be very careful if you choose to use the soft play.

We visited this zoo last week because I thought I'd never been and my 3 year old boy wanted to see Dinosaurs. Turns out that it's paradise with a new name 🤣 anyway, here's what we thought....

Upon arrival, if you look to your right you instantly see the "splash park" followed by the world of dinosaurs. We went straight to the dinosaurs with a view to end the day, full loop, back at the splash park. We enjoyed a fantastic hour or 2 with the dinosaurs, including taking lots of fun photos, bringing the children's imaginations to life, doing the fossil dig and also collecting letters for the treasure trail they gave us on arrival.

After this we explored the zoo, there wasn't much going on, the only animals were saw were a tapir and an emu- oh and a camel! (It was a very hot day, despite the weather app telling me it would be overcast) So we headed over to the birds. Now, I've never been a fan of birds, but we happened to arrive just ahead of a bird talk, which was absolutely fantastic! We happened to sit under a perch so birds kept flying over our heads and sitting right above it. The lady talking was so good, knowledgeable and funny.
It's a shame there were no other animals about but that's always the risk you take with zoos. I did have a great conversation with a zookeeper by the tapir enclosure, who entertained my daft questions.

We ended the day by going to the splash zone. Now, the splash zone is literally a slide in a shallow pool, about a foot deep and it was dang busy! I just wanted the kids to be able to cool down for 10 minutes and it did the trick. I didn't see any lifeguards or anything and there were a few naughty kids absolutely drenching everyone (luckily getting wet was what I came for 😅) so I did get a face full of water as soon as I entered 🤣🤣
Within this time, my husband started having a hypo (he's type 1 diabetic) and the Jurassic restaurant is a very quick walk away so I grabbed him a chicken pasta and a doughnut, which came to about £9. It was the only thing I could see which would be quick carbs, everything else seemed to be cooked on demand and obviously I had zero time to waste. The young man serving was so very polite although service is quite slow (or laid back we will call it) but I didn't alert anyone to my emergency so they had no reason to rush.

The only reason for mid-range rating is the lack of animals for the £100 price tag, the day was lovely, the staff are lovely, the facilities were lovely, it's just if you're going to the zoo.... You wanna see the bears and the tigers - and that is something that no one can control. It's good to know that the animals have the freedom to escape us to be honest.
