We took our three grandchildren here at the weekend for our first visit. After reading the food reviews we packed picnic food for the kids but my husband wated to try the food there. Good points; lots of places to stop and rest/eat, bad points; food and drink pretty awful. Queued for a hot dog but was the young guy serving was so disinterested mu husband walked away in disgust. Tried the coffee - watery so don't bother if you actually like coffee.
Dinosaur park - excellent. We walked around first and were super impressed then took the train. All really well done.
Then we walked around the zoo part. The viewing is well though out with plenty of glass to enjoy views from various angles and we saw tiger, lions and leopard but NO penguins, NO gibbons, NO red panda. Where were they all? I felt they only came out when it was feeding time. We all enjoyed the rainforest area though and went in more than once.
Good ice creams and gift shop.
Not sure I'd go back although it is a good size when you have small children with you. I just expected to see more.

It was well worth the three and a half hour drive down the old Roman Road, which frankly needs updating, but that's nothing to do with this review.

We had a wonderful visit. The kids were so excited and we're not disappointed. The facilities for baby change and toilets were in excellent condition. All the staff were very pleasant many going out of their way to be extra friendly. We were very lucky to see all the animals. We loved watching the tiger eating.
The play areas were an added bonus which the kiddos loved. Then on top of everything the dinosaur 🦕 park was amazing.
All the kids said is when can we come again.

Lovely place to visit with you family.
Many animals to see, to walk around the whole zoo it probably takes 4-5h so wear comfortable shoes.
Few places to buy food and places to rest.
Buy tickets in advance its much easier

Top notch zoo, didn't even go everywhere, the Dinosaurs need a clean lol but kid loved it. Very clean, good kids area, covered seating areas, soft play is massive. Just like a zoo in Australia. don't think just go. Clean, tidy, friendly, loads to do, I'm gonna get a year pass.

Lovely zoo, good variety of activities for the children. Plenty of food choices on the weekends but a bit more limited during school days.

Absolutely amazing place. The staff are so friendly and you can see they really care about the animals. It's so clean and well maintained and really well laid out. All the animals look healthy and well loved. Love the dinosaurs! Would recommend taking a picnic as food is a bit pricey but there are plenty of places to sit and eat.
Great value for money and great fun. Definitely worth a visit! 🙂

Great zoo for families with younger children 3-10 years old. Compact with good paths and shows, play area, small soft play, food outlets and tables for eating own food. Older children and adults only may find it limited in size and animals

First visit and based on other reviews I decided to visit. This is very well cared for , from the animal enclosures and surrounding area. I felt it was more for families with younger children as there is alot to keep them entertained when not walking around to view the animals. Plenty of places to sit and eat, whether your having your own picnic or buying food on site. Having different animals from the big cats, which are my favourite, to guinea pigs was a great mixture. I had never seen a sun bear before and it was truly amazing to watch. The views are great aswell as you don't always have a view of the animals behind metal fencing so you get chance to get some great pics. I was travelling on my own and it took my about an hour to walk round the entire zoo. Worth a visit, staff are very friendly aswell which always makes a visit more pleasureable.

Their tagline of “The Best Zoo in the South of England” might just have some merit to it.

Made the journey up from south Kent for a birthday treat and I was not disappointed.

Not the largest variety but all of the animals seem happy, healthy and well looked after. It’s a great size, not too long of a walk and you can have a gentle meander around and not miss anything but it not take all day. Would definitely recommend getting in early, especially at the weekend.

If you’re a fan of dinosaurs, I’d recommend you take a look into their life size dinosaur exhibit. It just puts into perspective the sheer size of these beasts, something you may not have ever considered.

Unlike others I’ve been to, even the restaurants and other food options are reasonably priced.

A very nice experience. Zoo looks very nice and feels spacious.
The enclosures have character to them as well as some lovely animals.
The dinosaur walk through is brilliant with the variety of dinosaurs and the ambience created.
Prices can be quiet a lot so it's not a place I feel we will be visiting regularly but it is a great treat.

Came for the first time this weekend with the family. Daughter has an agenda this to do as many zoos as possible 😅.
The selection of animals on site to see and learn about is truly remarkable. Did quite a few of the keeper talks aswell.
The enclosures small to large were amazing. Everything was so well maintained, clean and tidy. Everything just looked brand new . Coming on a perfect weather day just added to the experience as all the animals wanted to be out.
Loved the history near the main entrance entrance learning about the zoos history through the years & their conservation projects.
Good selection of Catering onsite did the Sunbear bakery first got a few snacks drinks , kids loved the toasties and heated croissants. Seating area in there looks over the bear enclosure.
Went to the Pangaea Restaurant for a late lunch and wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the food we received
But didn't let that reunion our visit and one last look round and visited the shop got to have a fridge magnet.

In all great day out hopefully come back again when next in the area .
