A great place to relax with your family.

Parking is clearly a huge problem on school holidays. This is my only reason for giving 3 stars, because we drove 40 minutes to get there and very nearly had to give up and that was stressful! Get there EARLY to avoid stress and disappointment! Other than that it is a brilliant day out, especially if you have younger children. There's tons for them to do. I brought my teens back for the first time in 10 years and they enjoyed the zoo and the talks. For little kids there's the paddling pool, soft play, crazy golf, the train and the dinosaurs. Although, we enjoyed walking around the dinos too. They've added moving ones to their original display, which is fantastic, but some of them were missing information, which is a shame. The animals are well looked after. Someone complained the enclosures are too small. They're really not! Big cats, like all cats, spend most of their lives sleeping and their areas are lush and green with lots of enrichment activities. They're fine. The zoo is doing it's bit to maintain certain species. We took our own food, so cannot comment on that, but there were plenty of places available. The entry price is a bit OTT for just the zoo, but if you have little ones it'd be worth getting a season ticket and coming back again and again, as I did, when my children were small. But get there EARLY!

Had such a lovely day out with my daughter today! She used to visit regularly with her childminder so was in her element acting as my personal tour guide.

It was particularly busy, but the queue moved well and didnt feel at all crowded once inside. Lions and Tigers were my favourite of course, but the dinosaur trail is amazing and the best we've seen by far.

Lots of spaces to play, free face painting available on the day we visited (big hit) and a meet and greet with Aaron, Cam and Tyler from One, Zoo, Three.

Also, a big thanks and thumbs up for not forcing parents through the trauma of having to exit after a lovely day, with an exhausted child through a gift shop with the resulting meltdown and stress it causes!

I love this place and been coming since it opened i love all the new changes and its easy to get around with plenty of watering holes plus sitting in Tiger cafe with the Cats beside you is a must. All the enclosures give an up close encounter with all the animals due to the amazing glass fronts and the environment the animals live in is just fantastic i totally recommend visiting

The Zoo is divided into 2 sections. A dinosaur park and a more traditional zoo. The dinosaur park is good fun but more for small children while the Zoo is top class! Some great enclosures, with amazing views of the animals.

We went last week as we had adopted the wolves for my son for his 10th birthday last year. He was so disappointed to see the small muddy enclosure they were in - pacing in circles, ears down and generally not looking at ease. Appreciate that they are reclusive animals but we could barely see them, and they were surrounded by a constant cacophony of noise from the dinosaur park. My son's comment that they care more about their fake animals who had far more space than the real ones really struck a chord as dinosaurs are clearly a focus and a money spinner there. All of the other animals however were in a separate part of the zoo where money had clearly been spent upgrading their enclosures. I can only hope the wolves will either be rehomed or be part of the improvement programme as the current state of their enclosure was pretty dire…
Have to say the rest of it was good however and the food was lovely so not all bad! Hoping the wolves get a better deal soon….

There are lots of things to see and do - from visiting animatronic dinosaurs to seeing real animals and birds. Perhaps more to the point, the young children who accompanied our group really enjoyed their time there. It's worth a return visit.

Loads of different animals
Friendly and helpful staff
Delicious food in the main restaurant

We had such a lovely day! We'd not visited the zoo in years, when it was known as Paradise Wildlife Park. Since our last visit it's rebranded as Hertfordshire Zoo, and has clearly had lots of money spent on it to add the World of Dinosaurs area, as well as improving enclosures for the animals.
For us, the highlight of the day was the tortoise talk led by the amazing keeper Marianne. At the end of the talk, children are given the chance to enter the enclosure and meet the tortoise Marian on a one to one basis, by answering a question correctly. We were lucky enough to win this opportunity, and will never forget this special, unexpected experience.
The zoo is lovely to walk around, there are plenty of places to get food and drink, and a large adventure playground.
Most definitely worth a visit!

This Zoo is amazing. Probably the best one we have ever visited. Loads of space and really well laid out. The Dinosaur section is amazing with some of the best animatronic models of any other attraction we have been to. The food is well priced and the entertainers are brilliant. Got to meet “Blue” the Velociraptor which was a bonus. Plenty of parking too. Definitely one to visit. Buy tickets online saves you 10% and they accept Blue Peter cards too.

Took the children up to see Hertfordshire Zoo (the one from One Zoo Three!) and we had a wonderful time. We met Cameron and Aaron too!

The animals were great, the staff were super friendly and it just felt like a really nice place to work and be a part of. We saw a few talks and also the bird display (excellent).

The dinosaur park there was also AMAZING. Well worth doing. Use the timings on the leaflet you get on the way in to plan your day and you'll have a great time.

So yeah, we're absolutely going to be coming back again soon:)
