Had a brill day! So much play area and paddling pool area indoor play area and different food areas, animals are great lots of viewing points.
They have a range of animals. Great for any age but a lot of walking. Dinosaurs are brilliant and the train ride is an extra £2.50 if you want to go on it.

The zoo was very well set out with good views of the animals, the only criticism was that the zebras and the camels were in very small enclosures with no room to stretch their legs and no green space available to them compared to Whipsnade zoo where they are in fields with ample space.

Its a good Zoo with plenty to see and do. We managed to see every animal thry have, even though the Slough was hiding. There is a small water area for the kids if it gets a little hot, but I wouldnt advise going at busy times as it is small. They also have a play park area and of course the dinosaur trail too. A fun afternoon out for all.

Fantastic place for a family day out.
We had a great time visiting the zoo.

Good variety of animals and we were fortunate that they were all out for us to see.

Think it's a great addition having the dinosaur park here aswell, adds alot of additional value to the ticket.

Average food tho, which is the only let down.

We make the most of coming here with the family a few times a year.

Lots of animals to see, plenty of food/drink/icecream/giftshops/play areas & a water paddling pool beach area! So take swim costumes. The dinosaur park was very good with the animated dinosaur collection. Had a ride on the little dinosaur train (we got there early) as the queue later on was long£2.00 per person. It did get very busy from bout 12 onwards but it was a hot bank holiday day as well so.....some of the animals were hidden but again it was v warm but we saw quite a few really. A good day out & my grand daughter thoroughly enjoyed it.

The dino world is amazing.....
Great viewing windows for the animals so didn't have to lift the youngest lots...
A little expensive for us but we are....1. A family of 5. 2. Used to using our colchester zoo pass and getting in free 🤣

I think it’s a fantastic place for families. There are plenty of activities for older kids (even a mini water play area!) as well as for little ones (soft play). Hertfordshire Zoo treats family comfort as a priority, with lots of toilets and resting areas where you can enjoy your food and drinks. The staff were polite, helpful, and knowledgeable (especially the young gentleman in the section with the adorable goats—he knew them all by name, age, and character! I was amazed).

I heard some comments from other visitors that they weren’t happy with the number of animals you can see at Hertfordshire Zoo. Well, that may be true to some extent, but the zoo makes up for it in a different way—with the atmosphere. Everything is well thought out and balanced. When visiting with children, you realistically wouldn’t be able to see more animal species than Hertfordshire Zoo already has. By the time you add breaks and time spent in the play areas, your day is done.

If you’re looking for a day out with kids and lots of laughter, you can’t go wrong here. If you don’t have kids and are looking for a different kind of experience, you may want to choose another zoo 🙂

Fantastic zoo, lots of variety of animals and birds.
We had a great day but the weather was almost too good. Most of the animals were hiding away because it was so hot which was a shame. Best to go on a cooler day when the animals are out

It's a great day out for the whole family, they also have a few playgrounds and soft play areas for the little ones in case they don't get tired from the walking. Parking is plentiful and free, there are food restaurants and kiosks and ice cream kiosk. Only thing one can ask for is a good weather and you are good to go and have a great day looking at animals and dinosaurs.

Definitely the best zoo I’ve been in the UK ! There is 2 car parks within 1 min walking distance to the entrance. There are multiple commodes . Multiple eating places, playing areas for the kids. Jurassic park included! I can’t describe enough, you have to go there and see !

Amazing Dino world animatronics

We had a great time at the zoo, the Dinosaur area was pretty impressive and the animatronics we're far better than I'd have expected. Some of the scenes where dinosaurs were tearing flesh out of prey with blood everywhere were perhaps a little unnecessary but our 6 year old shrugged it off luckily. The rest of the zoo was good, the bird of prey show was cute, and our daughter was really pleased to have been given a Capybara Adoption/Sponsorship as part of her birthday present and she was delighted to see her name on the board by the enclosure. It was a hot day so a lot of the animals were hiding (I don't blame them) to stay cool such as the penguins and the big cats, but we saw plenty and had a good time.

Good day out for the whole family,

Nice little park for kids to play , loads of eating space , ( I would advise you to take a packup as foods a bit pricey ) a gift shop , good dinasaur area with its own little train to go round and get a better look ( £2 pp ) , only downfall, loads of empty cages , not sure we would return but never the less still an enjoyable day out .
