We went to Hertfordshire Zoo to meet family. My son had shown me One Zoo Three on CBBC and said he would like to go and that was a great decision.

The Zoo itself is separated by a well controlled access road to effectively split it into 2 halves, the anima side and land of the dinosaurs. The Land of the Dinosaurs is a good walk around with more than just the stereotypical dino statues to see. There are a few interactive points on the walk round and photo ops.

The animal half is really good. There are a good selection of big cats, Lions, Tigers, Jaguar and Snow Leopards along with gibbons, camels, sun bears and the usual smaller mammals and reptiles including an Anaconda and Reticulated python. The viewing areas for the animals are great. Elevated positions are fantastic to get a good view. There are also 2 of 4 Sengi in the Uk on display that are really worth trying to find as they look so strange but sweet.

Food was good and reasonably priced for an attraction.

It is clear from the history wall that a lot of time, effort and money has been spent to make Hertfordshire Zoo a top attraction. This was a great day out.

We had a great day at the zoo it was full of animals.
The view points were great for a diffrent perspective and you could see so far.
There are loads of picnic areas which was good but there are also snack bars.
Loads of play areas with slides.
The best animals were the zebra, lions and marmosets/ monkeys

The animals all looked very well cared for and visitor experience was great - lots of viewing platforms/glass without disturbing the animals. Atmosphere was calm
and family friendly. My son loved the dinosaur world the best. He’s very eager to return.

This Zoo is amazing! We visited during the Christmas holidays and saw so many animals. The place is really well kept and all animals seemed to love their surroundings. A great day out for both kids and adults!

I visited today & was upset by a keeper who singles me out for making Ethan the gibbon, who i love & he really likes me & I try not to do this, but others do it i have seen this. I have been going to the zoo for 30 years & get a yearly membership , I love going, but find the keepers now adays are grumpy & not friendly like other zoo's & I have been to many. The zoo is great apart from this. Felt i had to share as it's boxing day & I brought a friend & my daughter and it spoilt are day as the could see it was not my fault.

Great zoo! It’s not too busy or crowded, so you can take your time and enjoy each attraction. The zoo is a comfortable size, making it easy to see everything in one visit. There’s also a fantastic dinosaur section with lifelike animatronic dinosaurs—perfect for kids who love them. Highly recommend! 👍

Great visit – quiet, relaxed and perfect for a toddler

We visited Hertfordshire Zoo on a Monday morning with four adults and a just under two-year-old, and it was the perfect time to go. It was really quiet with no queues, which made the whole experience much more relaxed, especially with a young child.

The zoo is well laid out and easy to get around, and our little one loved seeing the animals without crowds around. It felt calm and unhurried, which made a big difference.

The ticket price was great as there was a 25% discount, which made the visit excellent value for money. We also stopped for food and were pleasantly surprised – the food staff were great, very friendly and helpful, and the food itself was really nice. The only downside is that the food was a bit expensive, but that’s fairly standard for attractions like this.

Overall, a lovely visit and a great day out for both adults and toddlers. We’d definitely recommend visiting early in the week if you can.

Lovely family run zoo with excellent keepers and that seems to invest the money back into the animals

Absolutely love the dinosaur park, special events, play areas, shops, eating areas but I am very concerned about some of the enclosures, not all but some, namely the big cats and for sure the snow leopard who was pacing. The refurb and upgrades are fabulous but some of these animals should be removed to zoos such as Whipsnade or Woburn where they can roam Herts zoo is simply not suitable and it’s cruel. I do not care what government guidelines are, governments talk rubbish as we all know. Common sense is all that’s needed. Please don’t make this about money Hertfordshire zoo, re home the big animals……
