Went on Winter Break.
Lovely setting, beach cafe down the hill definitely worth the walk (through hotel garden).

All brilliant except billing.

No signature on bar bill / resaurant bill. Final bill had £100 of someone elses meal on it! Keep a check on your drinks / meals.

Had a wonderful stay in this lovely hotel on this great island. Many thanks to Gavin and Daniel for their first class help during our stay. We had a great, spacious room with sea view in a gold room basis with nice touches like sherry and bath robes. Refurbishing was going on during our visit but was not a significant problem. We had room 50 and it was roomy and warm with a great view over the bay. We went walking along the coastal path for two days, that was tough, but with great views and many interesting sites it made the aching limbs worthwhile. At the bottom of the road is a vey nice cafe which was open at the weekend being out of season.

The hotel offer a courtesy bus to the arport which we used and we also ventured out on the bus with the bus stop close it the hotel. The island is compact so there is no real need for a car. The hotel is twenty mins walk away to the town on the main road or 40 mins along the coast path.

The hotel has a small pool and sauna which was excellent and also a cinema. A 27 seat private cinema that guests can use. We saw Galaxy in 3D and had the cinema to ourselves! An excellent novel addition that other hotels have not got on the island. So in all a great hotel, very spacious rooms, very good staff and a wonderful island. If you stay on Guernsey then I would recommend this hotel. We will be back!

Room Tip: Room 50 sea view.

I've stayed several time at the FVH over the last few years & always look forward to going back.
They are in the process of refurbishing the resturant, bar & reception area which didn't really impact on the guest too much. When i got to the room which was a gold standard with a balcony i found a bottle of red wine with a little note to enjoy this with the compliments of the manager for the inconvenience. Great touch & very enjoyable.
The staff as always were very helpful & freindly

Spent 3 nights at the FVH as a long weekend birthday treat for my wife. The room, although only their standard (silver) was excellent (room 10) and the Valley restaurant provided good value quality food.

I would also recommend Auberge restaurant for excellent food.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My stay here was simply glorious. The hotel is situated above a beautiful view of the Fermain bay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and there is even a driver who does free airport runs. On most days he even drove me to and from the hospital where I was working and collected me from tow in the evenings. It was really 'above and beyond'.

My room was large, airy and comfortable. Immaculately clean, and with lovely touches such as complimentary bottled water, hand made fudge, robes and slippers.

The breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and superbly cooked if you chose to have the full English.

All in all, it was perfect. I'm almost sorry to be going home. I will not hesitate to use this hotel again for my next business trip to Guernsey! The only drawback is that when I come over on holiday I won't be able to stay here with my doggies :(

I have just finished a prolonged stay in this hotel for work reasons and I found it wonderfully comfortable with great staff and management, the full "Guersey" breakfast was to die for as my waistline can testify ........ Robert a big thank you to you and your staff.

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend and it was my wife's first time in Guernsey. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Staff very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Front of house, both Robert and Vera deserve special mention for their demeanour and excellent customer service. Lovely views, quiet in the evenings and an excellent nights sleep. Shame about the weather, but not much they can do about that! I can't recommend the Fermain enough.

What a lovely place to stay! Spur of the moment idea and didn't want to run the risk of trying to fly off island if the weather was bad (yep - local Guernsey guest!) - so decided to give the Fermain a go. Weather turned out to be quite pleasant, so having a room with a balcony and a view over Fermain Bay, was a joy. Staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. As I asked to stay an extra night, I was 'moved' - and my bag carried up through the gardens to a room located at 'The Venue' which is located just off of the main road, with the hotel itself placed just below, a minute or two's walk through a garden area (thank you Robert! Your attention was appreciated - the offer of being driven up there was also appreciated but that would have been just plain lazy!). I'm not sure that there are balcony options at The Venue (apologies if I am wrong), however this room had a 'living area' (settee, coffee table, chairs), with large windows again with views facing the gardens and Fermain Bay in the back drop. The fruit plate/fudge/bottles of water/decanter of sherry is a lovely touch, and the bathroom products/robes were also well received. If you are a local guest - ring the hotel directly for a quote...and even if you aren't, its also worth speaking to someone helpful to see what sort of deal they can arrange. Would I go back - absolutely!

Valentines weekend and our 20th Wedding Anniversary, returning to Guernsey where we spent our Honeymoon! What a superb hotel - Room 28 a Platinum room was lovely despite the appalling weather, we still opened our windows for the superb view down the valley and out to sea. Bottled water; sherry; tea/coffee and biscuits; Elemis beauty products from shampoo to a body buff; slippers; towelling robe; fresh fruit and Guernsey Fudge - all COMPLIMENTARY and very much appreciated. The hair dryer was powerful like one you have at home not like the usual hotel one where you can blow harder than the hair dryer blows. From our initial telephone enquiry to leaving the hotel, no one could fault the service of this wonderful team under the management of the very charming Robert Steen. Food was lovely in both the Valley Restaurant and Rock Garden Restaurants. The complimentary courtesy bus was without doubt a welcome addition to our trip and Robert the Manager dropping us back at the airport in his personal car as the courtesy bus was on an alternative mission! The lounges were quiet and at times, although we knew the hotel was full, we actually felt we were the only guests on site. This is most definitely the quietest hotel with the best service ever experienced. Thanks for the Anniversary card waiting on our table at breakfast and to Gavin (Reception); Laura (Restaurant); Lucas (Courtesy Bus Driver) and in particular to Robert - THANK YOU

We stayed at the hotel during the Valentine's weekend and it was wonderful!

Even thoulike e got the saver deal, the service of the staff was wonderful! They have a shuttle service that collected us from the airport at no cost, and we were taken into town and other parts of the island! On one of the days we decided to hire bikes and one of the staff there even drove us to the hire shop in the port in their own car!

The rooms are a nice size and really have a luxury feel with the decor and extra bits like bathrobes and slippers. The only negative was that our bathroom was a bit on the chilly side, although we were there during a nasty storm and cold weather..

The location is wonderful with a beach within meters that's fairly private and five minutes from the main port. So you get the best of both worlds!

Finally, the cinema was a nice touch, we had it all to ourselves and was a great experience for a night in!

Thanks a lot - we will defo be back!

What a change to find a superb hotel with old world charm and staff that are a pleasure to meet, I found the hotels atmosphere and friendly staff a reminder of how it used to be when nothing was too much trouble and customer service was the key to return business. I will be staying here again and am looking forward to it already.

Having stayed one night on business (excellent room, excellent service, excellent food), I found myself returning the following evening as my flight home was cancelled due to storm force winds. The hotel was very busy as it was Valentines eve. However the staff pulled out all the stops, sorted me a room, provided me with an excellent meal, made me feel very comfortable as a solo guest in a room full of romantic couples! The service was absolutely outstanding - I can't praise them enough. This was my first time to Guernsey but I will now return for leisure and most certainly will stay at the Fermain Valley. Outstanding.

Lovely weekend at the Fermain Valley had a gold room in the main building which was lovely with sea views - although the weather was appalling it didnt really matter. The price we paid made it excellent value for money. Great to see a hotel offering complimentary water -so many still dont. Generous amounts and variety of teas and nice biscuits. Food in the restarant was great and service excellent. Breakfast was also wonderful - with good quality ingredients. Nice comfy bed and good shower. The room was very warm but once we worked out how to switch of the bathroom radiator which was boiling it was fine. My only gripe was having to order afternoon tea 24 hours in advance - never, ever come across this before and this was the only let down in my opinion.

Just returned from a wonderful relaxing break at Fermain Valley Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, and the manager - Robert Steen - is a wonderful host. Always there to help out with any queries and ready with a witty anecdote. Food was good and plentiful, atmosphere pleasant and cordial. Rooms are pleasant and well decorated, bed very comfortable. Fruit on arrival in the room and complimentary sherry, no extra cost. Hotel generally was a bit too warm but we opened our bedroom door during the night and slept well. Weather was awful but the visit was very enjoyable.

My wife and I had cause to visit a sick friend in Guernsey and was advised by a friend to stay at The Fermain Valley Hotel. This done both at short notice and really acceptable terms turned out to be an excellent choice and one which both my wife and I would highly recommend. We were greeted by a charming young lady at Reception who, having taken all our details gave us a conducted tour of the amenities of the hotel, including a very nice swimming pool and sauna, so take your swimming gear! The staff were most friendly and helpful in every way. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. The room was warm, clean and spacious with an outlook second to none over Fermain Bay. Drinks and fresh fruit along with Sherry was always available in the room. REALLY GREAT. Many thanks.

Between Xmas and new year I booked a room here because a friend had their wedding reception at the venu. The reception, food, entertainment and staff at the venu couldn't have been better. A wonderful day.

Our room was really nice too. The 'extras' that were not extras, they came as standard, were lovely. Fresh fruit, chocolates, bottled water and a wide selection of teas, coffees and bathroom bits. These are often charged for in other places. However on closer inspection we found a few things we were a bit surprised at, paint peeling off the bathroom door, chipped plasterwork on the walls and a drainage problem in the sink and bath. When I took a shower I was more than ankle deep in water half way through.

Overall I would recommend this hotel, I'd certainly stay again.

Nothing but good things to say about the hotel and staff here. From the moment we turned up to the minute we left, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We booked the hotel at fairly short notice for NYE so probably didn't get the best rates, but the flight and room still worked out cheaper than a trip to the fireworks in London!

Our flight landed early on 31st so we arrived at the hotel around 9:45am, but we were told our room was already available and that we could check in. Once that was done we were offered the use of the driver and the shuttle bus to take us to and from the hotel to the nearest town, St. Peter Port. This service was offered to us a number of times during our stay. It seemed that, if the shuttle driver wasn't busy taking guests to and from the airport, they were more than happy for him to escort guests around the island.

Simply put, the overall experience was exceptional. My partner and I are used to a level of service usually reserved for hotels we frequent in America and the Fermain Valley offered a comparable experience - Breakfast and Dinner were tasty and freshly-cooked, Christmas decorations, hotel furnishings, pillows and beds were great quality, the gardens were extremely well maintained and the overall ambience made for a perfect Christmas/New Year break.

There's also the added bonus of a bay being a short (albeit very steep!) walk from the hotel so, if you don't fancy shopping or driving, you can wile away the time watching the waves and walking along the coastal path.

I'd like to personally thank Robert and his team for their hospitality and congratulate them on delivering an exceptional experience. We shall definitely recommend and return.

What a lovely hotel and what an amazing place to spend Christmas. The staff were all welcoming, helpful and professional throughout our stay - nothing was too much trouble. There were lots of extra little touches throughout the Hotel which were appreciated and noticed by us which is why this Hotel gets the maximum score. Our room was superb with a fabulous view to wake up to. The guest lounges were very comfortable with Christmas trees and a lovely log fire. This was our second visit to this hotel and we will definitely be back. Thank you Robert and your team.

superb special birthday treat to go back to the island and visit my old school. Luckily we stayed in this great hotel. Were going to eat out every night, but the two modern reasonably priced restaurants meant we ate on the complex too. The views from the rooms are superb, and the rooms themselves are 5 star.

Our second Christmas here and even better than last year. Robert and his staff could not have done more to help us relax. On arrival we were picked up from the airport by the hotel minibus and we were returned to the airport in the same vehicle at the end of the holiday. Our whole experience was hassle free we were treated as valued guests and all our requests were dealt with promptly and with a smile. We know from other visits that the service we received is the same high standard throughout the year. This hotel should be high on your list of places to stay in Guernsey. Last year we were in a gold room, this year it was platinum really worth the extra for the more spacious room.
