From being met at the airport, to being welcomed at the hotel, and despite Reception being temporarily relocated due to new carpet laying, we felt taken care of. There had been a misunderstanding with our booking on the type of room but this was rectified for us and we settled in for a very pleasant 5-night stay, breakfast and three evening meals. The Ocean Restaurant was modern and well run and we enjoyed our meals there. The Rock Garden Steak Restaurant was a stand-out experience, Tom, our waiter was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable and our steaks were juicy and full of flavour. There was a great modern atmosphere and a weekend sort of vibe even though it was only Thursday ! The views from both the room, and the hotel terraces and gardens are beautiful, bluebell woodland running down to the sea. We were lucky with the weather but if the wind blows the rain in you can hunker down in your room and enjoy a glass of sherry from the decanter filled daily. Well, a glass or two went down on the terrace at sunset too. The swimming pool was clean, well kept and very hot, pay attention if you stay in longer than 30 mins, but what a great way to start the day or ease some aching muscles after walking the stunning cliff paths during the day. We can highly recommend both hotel and location for a great break on the charming island of Guernsey.

Checked in was smooth and very quick everything explained by the receptionist. Room very spacious and bright. Usual tea and coffee, Iron and board as well as a hair dryer. Sat TVs with numerous channel. Great views over the valley and Jersey in the distance. We booked a "lovelocal", deal which included dinner. Good choice on the menu for the time of year. Service very friendly and efficient portion sizes are good, wine was at reasonable prices and a good choice from around the world.
Used the pool it was a tad warm but good for a 20min work out.
WiFi available throughout the hotel and is extremely quick, even outside on the terrace. A very good stay at a great location. Walk into to town through bluebell woods, or Fermain Bay and cliff path linked to Pleinmont on a good day. Thanks for the card
Hope to see you soon.🌞👫

We recently stayed for 5 nights at he Fermain Valley Hotel, it is situated down a lane off the main road, it is all downhill to the car park & very much steeper down to the lovely bay, The hotel exudes a touch of class, everything is very nicely presented with 2 restaurants, small library, bar lounge tea room & also a swimming pool with sauna, The only disappointing thing was that our room(39)in the main hotel which was very nice had a sloping ceiling over one side of the bed & looked out over the car park & not the gardens as i was expecting. It had very nice high quality wardrobes with plenty of space, tea/coffee making facilities, free wi fi, a comfortable large bed, hairdryer, iron & safe as well as a very nice bathroom. Overall very pleased.

The breakfast was very nice with all cooked items made to order with a good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts & pastries. we ate in the ocean Restaurant every night as the food was excellent with lots to choose from, would highly recommend it, the Steakhouse which is also at the Hotel has an excellent reputation but we didn't try as seemed a little expensive & we liked the Ocean a lot. be aware that the Venue which has rooms also is about 200yds from main hotel with a walk through the gardens lovely on a nice day bit of a trek when raining.

The swimming is not massive but very nice if you want to use the sauna let them know about 45 minutes before you go as it was never turned on during our visit unless you requested it, Free towels are provided.

The hotel has 2 courtesy vehicles which they take guests in to St Peter port & the Airport if you pre-book, Very good service, If you make it down to Fermain Bay there are wonderful walks in either direction, left to St Peter-Port or right towards St Martins point we enjoyed both but you need to be reasonably fit as there are lots of climbs & descents. We also visited the small island of Herm which was a delight on a lovely sunny day, ÂŁ13.00 return from St Peter-Port harbour. The little Chapel is currently under scaffold & covering but still glad we visited as it's unique. The bus service on the island is great with single trips all ÂŁ1.00 or ÂŁ4.50 for an unlimited day pass. We were very lucky with the weather & really enjoyed our stay and were pleased with our choice of hotel.

I'd like to give this place just 1 star but only so that no-one else goes there - but that would be selfish. Nothing was too much trouble, fantastic (Platinium) room, lovely view and very well situated for walking both along the (very) rugged south coast or a little less frenetic stroll c. 50mins into St. Peter Port. Many buses regularly pass the top of the road (ÂŁ1 any distance - can't fault that either); you really don't need to hire a car. We passed on the the d,b&b offer when booking because we expected to eat out - BIG mistake. The food was fantastic so dinner each evening turned out to be a no-brainer. Good choice of beers (inc. some decent local ales) and wines. The indoor pool was around a tepid bath temperature - perfect after a day's walking, and the sauna was HOT. Really couldn't find fault with anything. One small negative to be aware of: the hotel is near the flightpath for Guernsey airport, but aircraft are high, small, and propeller driven. Flying starts late and ends early. And all the aircraft were landing so were on idle. Can honestly say the noise wasn't a bit intrusive, just briefly noisy compared with the near total silence the rest of the time. We will be returning. See you there!

Me and my boyfriend visited fermain valley over the valentines weekend and we had a brilliant trip.
Beautiful hotel situated at the top of the valley looking out over wonderful views and only short walk to the beach.
The service was impeccable over our entire trip specifically at the ocean restaurant.

Our room was in 'the venue' part of the hotel which is only a short walk from the main reception. Everything was very clean and tidy and as a nice touch there was a compomentary bottle of port in the room.

Will definitely be visiting again!

Stayed here for 4 nights and was very impressed.
From the quick efficient checking in through to checking out, everything about this hotel is good. If I had one minor issue, and it is a very minor one it’d be the smell of cooking outside from early evening. But the simple answer is to close the window and balcony door, problem solved.

The hotel is spotlessly clean. The room we had was bright, airy and overlooked the valley - the complimentary fruit and decanter of sherry are a very nice touch.
The rooms are cleaned to a very high standard, with an optional “turn down” service, so when you get back to your room it’s tidy and neat – a great service!
All the staff working here are friendly and cheerful and are only too happy to please. It’s this and the outstanding quality of the food makes the Fermain Valley the place to stay. We ate in both the Rock Garden Steak House and Ocean restaurants’ (Both in the hotel) and were not disappointed. The Mushroom risotto in the Ocean restaurant was possibly the best I have ever tasted. What was really outstanding is that when I ordered sea bass in the rock garden, I requested it without scallops, consequently the bill was less than expected as the scallops were not charged (You’ll not find that in every restaurant). The Valley Tea Room (also in the hotel) serve the most amazing pastries and cakes all made on the premises.
If you decide to stay anywhere else on Guernsey (Why would you?) then at least book the restaurants, but book in advance as they’re very popular particularly the Rock Garden.

We were unlucky enough to have our ferry crossing cancelled. The hotel allowed us to come back and use their facilities despite the fact we’d already checked out. If I were to visit Guernsey again, this would be the place I’d choose to stay.
Good hotel, good food and good service. It doesn’t get better than that. Well done Fermain Valley - 10/10!

Well appointed hotel with good facilities. Our family had a platinum room and a silver twin room for the boys. To be honest there wasn't much difference apart from the size and view. The rooms were clean, airy but I do think as a bit of feedback some luxuries which should have been there were missing, for example the pillows were very cheap and very uncomfortable. I would have expected a decent pillow for the price of the room.
On the plus side all the staff were brilliant, the two men (?duty managers) on reception were excellent, very helpful.
Breakfast good, the rock garden better than ocean for evening meals.
I would recommend the walk from the hotel to St Peter Port along the cliff, it was also brilliant that the hotel will send a car to pick you up!
Great location, would recommend the hotel!

Very nice hotel - some staff are great some are very rude and forget orders! Amazing location food is great but very noisy at night took me ages to go to sleep. Pool Is lovely very hit and pick the right time because it's quite small and can get very busy . Service isn't great but on the whole it was a nit a bad hotel !

We stayed at the hotel for our wedding anniversary and, in the main, enjoyed it very much. I have to say that we were very disappointed to find that the dinner set menu in the Ocean restaurant was the same on each of the 3 nights, especially that even the soup course was not changed from cauliflower soup, not a particularly good choice at the best of times.

It's not often you can review a hotel stay so positively! Had a really great time here. Superbly situated. Everything is catered for. Very clean. It looks like it has been renovated over the last few years, don't know, but it is stylish. Used the Rock Garden, did have a problem, which was put right straight away. The Ocean restaurant - can't fault it. Great breakfast, lovely food, but it is the staff that make it great. They are all so friendly, and it seems genuine! Our room (Gold) was great - if anything, it was too warm. Never thought we'd say that! Disturbed the sleep a little. The hotel is under the flight path, and flights start early, but you get used to that, Fab hot bathroom radiator with fluffy towels and robes. Gorgeous. Lovely view to the sea. One tree in particular could do with felling, if allowed, to enhance the view. Lovely outdoor space, for when it's warmer, pretty gardens. Loads of tables and chairs outside. Don't really need to go anywhere else. Did not use the pool, but it looked lovely, and beautifully clean. The Tea Room is a delight, with fab cakes baked by their pastry chef, there is a gorgeous quiet relaxing lounge and library too! Will be back. Loved it.

Second visit here, in a relatively short space of time, just to make sure the first experience wasn't a "fluke".... It wasn't, it's still brilliant.
This hotel was a wonderful find and I now won't stay anywhere else when visiting Guernsey.
Room was amazing, so spacious, and immaculate. Amazing views of the valley and sea. Food was cooked to perfection and obviously presented with pride and passion.
The staff are excellent, relaxed yet so efficient and friendly.
If you are visiting Guernsey and are looking for a place to stay, stay here. You won't regret it.

We were met at the airport by our transfer the driver very informative and helpful. Not far from airport hotel in beautiful setting. Hotel very nice our garden room was well decorated ,spacious with nice little extras included. Pleasant views down the valley to the sea. Staff very helpful breakfasts good plenty of choice. We ate at night in the Ocean restaurant food apart from our last night was really nice. The special menu was good value. Wine choices very good. Tearoom lots and lots of yummy cakes. Library a nice change to get away for piece & quiet. We used indoor pool and sauna. Pool a bit chilly though. The walk down to Fermain Bay ooh not for the unfit we did it though. They had a Easter Egg hunt for the children, which they thoroughly enjoyed. A nice relaxing break helped by extremely attentive hotel staff. Thank you Fermain.

We stayed in a platinum double room with two extra beds for the kids. Upon arrival, room was ready and waiting for us (not always the case when asking for extra beds!).

Room very well appointed - clean, fresh, light, bright and very spacious. Only small gripe was bathroom in the eaves and so no full height shower over bath. No balcony in our room but fabulous view of the sea. Nice turndown service available free of charge in evenings.

Food absolutely delicious - breakfast mixture of continental buffet and a la carte hot food. Word of warning - both restaurants seem very popular with visitors and locals alike so book in advance! That said, the hotel set up a special table for us in the bar when we couldn't get a reservation one eve - gorgeous meal!

Swimming pool small but perfect for a quick dip.

Main car park cosy and road down to hotel was challenging with a larger vehicle and limited experience of Guernsey roads. But it is fine to park in the car park at the top of the hill and walk through the gardens to the hotel.

Free courtesy car lifts into town wonderful. Also a cliff top walk from hotel down to town which is beautiful - ask for directions and then phone courtesy car for return back up.

Nothing was too much for the staff. When our ferry was cancelled due to bad weather, the hotel immediately shifted things around so we could stay an extra night in the same room.

Wonderful stay, would recommend without hesitation.

This is the best hotel we have stayed in. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly, helpful, and so welcoming. The view from our balcony was amazing and the fruit and sherry in the room a nice touch. We ate at the Rock Garden - the best steak ever, and the Ocean Restaurant where the set menu was excellent value and first class food and service. It was refreshing to have a freshly cooked breakfast every morning rather than the usual help yourself variety. Jeanne the receptionist was superb, very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She offered to print out our boarding passes without being asked and arranged our taxi for our early morning flight. We intend to return for a longer stay. Cannot recommend Fermain Valley Hotel highly enough.

We were met at the airport by the hotel curtsey car. A speedy checkin. Our room was lovely, it was very large, and had all you could want. There was fresh fruit, chocolates and a decanter of sherry and a local daily paper as standard. The room was at the back and overlooked the gardens. The terrace over looked the valley,
Breakfast was a selection of cereals, fruit, pastries as well as cooked. The evening meal was very good with a nice selection. The staff were so helpful , nothing was too much trouble.
It was easy to get into St Peter port with the hotel driver, who would pick you up at a arranged time or you could phone when you were ready.
Great tearoom with delicious scones and cream.
Very easy to book on the phone as the hotel did everything, Great that free wifi in all areas.

Stayed at the Fermain Valley Hotel for a six night break in March 2016.
The Hotel is absolutely exceptional in all aspects.
The room was light, very clean, well decorated and had all the luxury touches you would expect.
The staff were the most helpful/ cheerful & friendly I have ever encountered in a hotel.
The food was excellent - especially at the Rock Garden.
Overall, one of the very best on the Channel Islands.
Thoroughly recommend.

In a stunning location overlooking a wooded valley and the sea at Fermain Bay. The room (10) was spacious, clean and comfortable with a double aspect overlooking the sea in one direction but without a balcony but in March this was not a problem. We ate in both restaurants - the steak in the Rock Garden was very good but the desserts a little uninspiring. However, the food in the Ocean Restaurant, where we ate twice, was superb. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and efficient. They arranged car hire for us at a very competitive rate and the car was delivered to the hotel.

We last visited this hotel in 1968 when it was called The Favorita.
Going back this time brought back many happy memories. The hotel is still special but has been updated to a
modern boutique hotel with an excellent chef. The staff were friendly, polite and extremely welcoming.
Our room had a wonderful view of the valley down to Fermain Bay and had everything to make our stay enjoyable.
Look forward to visiting the island again.

We stayed three nights in this wonderful hotel, our platinum room was fabulously well appointed and the views down the valley out to sea were a delight to wake up to each day.
We ate two nights in the hotel, once on the main restaurant, and the second in the Rock Garden Steak House were we had just the best Chateau Briande.
Each day the breakfast was fantastic.
The only criticism woould be that the indoor pool was very cold, the staff said they had a problem with it when we arrived but that it was fixed and the pool temperature was gradually rising, baring this in mind we left it to our final day for a swim, but alas the water was vladivostock! One also needs to ask the staff to turn the sauna on if you wish to use it..
There is a good coastal walk which takes you into St.Peters Port, and the hotel run a shuttle service which was great as my legs were a bit tired to walk back 🙂
My vacation was the most memorable and romantic as my partner proposed to me on
the beach!

I am sure this will become one of our all time favourite places.

The room was spacious and comfortable, highly rec0ommended.

We rebooked here as previous stays always wowed us. Needless to say this stay exceeded all previous expectations. We were initially welcomed wonderfully by Jeanne (friendly / superb / delightful). Blown away by the 'gift of kindness' gesture which so made the start to a super break. Cannot fault here. I'd mistakenly booked a room different than our previous one, but without fuss they changed. Happy days. Usual sherry , apples extras in room, fridge water, always nice touch. They offered welcome drink & happy to deliver ice bucket & flutes to room. Top service. Love the pool as ever. Seamless service (with the rock garden) to arrange oysters for us & confirm dinner reservation. Atmosphere always relaxed welcoming unlike other hotels on the island. Nothing is a problem attitude. Ordered breakfast late with a few tweaks & boy would return here for this alone ~ egg white omelette & mushrooms supreme. As a local, it speaks volumes to stay here overnight when I live 10 minutes away :))

What a find..... Great feeling from the minute we arrived. Staff couldn't be more helpful, great breakfasts, warm pool for the kids, our platinum room was perfect with 2 camp beds for the little ones and a balcony with sea views. We had a private screening in the on site cinema, free lifts to and from town, an almost private beach with cafe at the bottom of the hill and a cracking restaurant adjacent to the hotel. If you are planning on a short break to Guernsey we can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Will certainly return....
