We have stayed here many time in the past and will not doubt stay again as the location is lovely with calming sea views and a wooded setting. Staff are friendly and helpful and make any stay very pleasant indeed. Loved the food too with plenty of options to pick from and nicely cooked dishes. Lots of space in the public areas with a quiet library and long areas to relax in if the weather happens to turn wet and you don't fancy wandering out. However there are signs that the place wants a bit of paining in the outside areas with chipped paint and similar issues now starting to show. Whilst our room (a platinum) was spacious and comfortable the bath had a nasty rusted area (on the edge (there was an attempt to cover it but it had not worked) and a nasty cracked tile just inside the door. So, overall, we do love the place but the new owners need to pay attention to the details and get on top of maintenance or the hotel will be at risk of a slide down the ratings.

Food excellent, service excellent, rooms average. We are at Buho on the Thursday evening which was great! Lovely food and great service. Breakfast in the morning was also really good. The rooms let it down a bit as the annex rooms are a little dated, small, no air conditioning and a lack of plug points for charging. All in all, pretty good

The hotel has a rural feel, is well located close to a pleasant stony bay with good beach cafe and access to coastal walks. Only a few minutes drive into town which has a range of quality restaurants. The staff, in the main, are extremely friendly and helpful and restaurants are fine , we tried two of them. Breakfast menus choice is vast and more than adequate.we never found the lounges mentioned on the web site ( but we did not aske where they were)
All very good and would normally be OK for a return visit but our room was disappointing and not what one would expect from a “ luxury, boutique “ hotel. We had a “ gold room” , it was small, did not reflect the web site and balcony views restricted by overgrown bamboo. We realised later in the week that we had been allocated an inferior room. To make things worse two hen parties we tabled under our balcony one afternoon for drinks and games, one would expect them to enjoy themselves but the disturbance was very significant over a number of hours, afternoon and evening, they could easily have been placed elsewhere but the manager told us they wanted a sheltered spot, clearly their requirements came above those of room guests, a pity and some thought could have prevented the disturbance, one would expect such parties to enjoy themselves and make a noise.
If you stay at this hotel you will not regret it but make sure you are given the standard of room you think you have paid for.

This hotel is not 4 star. Whilst all employees are superfriendly they just seem to be a chaotic bunch of people. Everyone seems to do everything and this is where the chaos starts. Service at breakfast is a disaster (the food is delicious though), maid service in the room is not existent. They make the bed and refill the cookies. That's it. Towels are not exchanged or collected from the floor, the bins are not emptied, etc. Aivoid rooms 38&39. They are above staff rooms and the laundry and from 6am till midnight it is very noisy. The terrace is beautiful, but was maybe cleaned for the last time in 2017. Weed is growing out of every tiny gap in the building. Some might call it charming I call it laziness or no eye for detail. If this property has 3 stars and cost half of its price I wouldn't say a word, but for more than 200£ per night I expect a higher standard. A big plus: free car service around the island. Although we only found out about it after the 3rd bus didn't stop and the plans for one day were ruined and we wanted to make sure it is not happening again.

Very comfortable Hotel, Service excellent and a lovely position a couple of miles from St Peter Port.
We had Gold Room which had all the amenities you expect from 4 star hotel and a fantastic view of the Valley and Sea. Indoor Swimming Pool is warm and clean and not used much.
Our only disappointment was the Steak house restaurant where we had to send my wife's Rump Steak back twice as poor quality and overcooked.
Drink prices on a par with UK and breakfast outstanding.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was excellent - just one evening when i thought the cleaning of our room had been rushed. Food in the Boho restaurant really great and all the breakfasts were excellent
Wasn't that impressed with our evening meal at the Ocean View restaurant- overcooked and overpriced

So my husband and I booked a room here last minute due to our flights being cancelled elsewhere.
On first impressions the hotel looks lovely, tastefully decorated and the bar terrace outside has a fantastic view of the blue sea and sailing boats. Recommend sitting out here for a drink in the sun, see photo.

Just a tip - don't arrive before check in time as they won't let you to the room. (We did arrive 2 hours early due to the ferry times, so we were chancing our luck)
The lady on reception was absolutely amazing, so friendly, nice and chatty. Loved her, great asset to the hotel.

The room (54) in the annex was a good size, large bed, had tea and coffee making facilities, iron and hairdryer.
Just wished the cleaner had paid more attention to cleaning the bathroom (dust/dirt in corner of the rim on the bathtub, couple of suspicious hairs on the floor, was evident the floor wasn't done at all. But nothing major)
The major things with this room was, as its in the annex there is a steep hill to walk up and down everytime you want to go to the bar/restaurant/reception etc. I wasn't aware of this when booking the room on hotels.com, only had an email half an hour before turning up! And I'm not joking, it was steep.
Another downside to this room is that the walls are super thin. I could hear the conversation our neighbour was having on the phone at 10pm and could hear all the women cackling when coming up the stairs at 11pm.
Plus the noise outside from the buhu restaurant guests and the people in the tavern over the road was quite bad the 1st night we stayed, not bad after 9:30pm on the second night.
But if you're after peace and quiet, probably not the room for you.
Breakfast on our first morning was lovely, but we did have to wait 45 minutes to receive it. Had to ask twice where our food was, but once we had it it was very tasty.
The food in the onsite Greek restaurant and the steakhouse was delicious and very filling. The Spanish lady who worked there was super smiley and happy, she was just lovely.
I recommend booking a reservation with the restaurants as soon as you arrive as they get booked up very quickly.
Overall the hotel was very nice, shame the noise outside our room and the steep hill let it down slightly for us.

I spent 4 nights here, the room was comfortable, the shower was incredible very powerful. Staff very good and helpful. Breakfast excellent, the Ocean restaurant was closed due to lack of staff. There are options a steakhouse and a Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel are both excellent I ate at both and enjoyed all the meals I had. It can get noisy there was a barbecue one day the noise was very loud with rooms overlooking the patio no getting away from the drum and bass. The beach is a steep walk down a hill and seems even steeper walking back up. St Peter Port is a 40 min walk away worth a visit

We spent 3 nights in a platinum room overlooking the valley and sea. Very large and comfortable room with everything we needed. Excellent breakfasts served by friendly staff. We appreciated the complimentary shuttle pick up from airport and into town each day. The only downside was that their main restaurant Ocean Eats was closed in the evenings whilst we were there.

Just spent 4 nights here. Excellent hotel in every way and dined at both the Mexican and Steakhouse attached to the property. Easy to get into St. Peter Port on the bus and sample the outstanding restaurants there. Happy to recommend Fermain Valley which is smart, clean and full of character. Staff are friendly and efficient. Will be back to enjoy this hotel and a fabulous island.
