If you're looking for local accommodation in Guernsey then the beautiful Fermain Valley Hotel is for you, with luxurious rooms and spectacular views over the bay.
No air conditioning in the rooms! My room was like a sauna, made it very difficult to sleep. Staff were wonderful and supplied a mobile air con unit but to no avail. Staff overall were wonderful and breakfast is great.
Also, be aware that the "cheaper" rooms are in a unit quite a long way from the main hotel and do not look like anything on the advertising!
