Rangers turn their attention away from league duty this week as they welcome Division one outfit Crowborough Athletic III to the field of dreams. The Crows won division two last season and are currently doing well in division one where they currently sit in fourth position. Their first game of the season was a home tie against Icklesham Casuals where the division two champions battled out a 1-0 victory. Their first trip on the road saw them snatch a dramatic late 3-2 victory at Langney Wanderers while seven days later, they shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Mountfield. Bexhill AAC then inflicted their only defeat on them with a crushing 6-1 scoreline. Sedlescombe were then on the receiving end of a 5-1 thumping from Crowborough, surely a result of the previous weeks performance! Last week saw The Crows compete in their FIFTH successive away game when they beat top of the table Battle Baptists 2-1. So their league stats looks like this- P5 W3 D1 L1 F11 A10 Pts10. Six of those league goals have been shared equally between Daryl King and Michael Fuller. Rangers top scorers this year are Glen Noble (4) and Jamie Strong (3).
Some would say this is a welcome distraction for rangers given their current league form where in reality; a cup trophy is the only likely source of silverware this season. Two excellent performances prior to last weeks defeat to table toppers Little Chelsea should still see the red and blacks in good spirit coming into what should be a very tight game.
3pm kick off at the sports park, see you all there.
