Our ESFL team have a mouth-watering Eastbourne FA Junior Cup quarter final tie against relative neighbours Herstmonceux. Ceux have been in excellent form having won 8 out of their 10 games in all competitions so far in the 2015/16 season, They are currently second in ESFL division 2 and have a game in hand on leaders Northiam 75 who have a three point lead. Last week Lime Cross played host to one of only a handful of games that survived the weather with ceux coming out 4-1 winners despite having their keeper dismissed when the game was evenly balanced at 2-1. Herstmonceux’s league record reads: P7 W6 D0 L1 F21 A10 Pts 19 and their top scorers are Ashley Hawkins (5) and Phil Broom (7).

Rangers come into the game after 3 straight wins with the most notable victory against Premier Division leaders Battle Baptists in the league cup. Rangers have 3 players amongst the goals this year and it’s expected that Ben Jesson (7), Jamie Strong (7) and Dan Wilkes (9) will be hoping to add to their impressive individual tallies to help rangers come away with a well earned victory.

The rangers MSFL team travel to Peacehaven United II this weekend, a side who are suffering mixed fortunes so far this season. A draw in their first game against Rotherfield II was followed by a 4-1 away win against Polegate Town II. They were then well beaten but Jarvis Brook II but bounced back the following week with a 1-0 cup win against Wisdom Sports. A win against bottom side East Grinstead United II soon followed while 7 days later Peacehaven suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of AFC Hurst. Last weekend saw them pull off a shock in the cup as they beat division 2 side Crawley Athletic 3-2 to progress to the next round. Their league form reads: P5 W2 D1 L2 F13 A14 Pts7 and their top scorer is James Kite who has netted 4 times in 6 games so far this season.

Rangers themselves come into the game off of the back of FIVE straight wins with the last outing at Jarvis Brook very pleasing indeed when 3 points were secured away from home to enable rangers to go joint top of the division. Rangers top scorer Glen Noble will be looking to add to his impressive tally of 8 goals in 8 games while at the other end of the pitch, the rangers back five will be determined to secure back to back clean sheets.

Peacehaven United should not be underestimated however, as their latest result shows.

Both games are sure to be tight in what is expected to be difficult conditions. Early nights all round….. :-)
