Polegate Summer Fun Day Cancelled due to Covid-19

Firstly, my thoughts are with all those that have been affected by the current outbreak.

I am saddened to inform you that I have taken the very difficult decision to cancel this year’s Summer Fun Day as part of the Polegate Scarecrow Festival. The Summer Fun Day was planned to take place on Saturday 20th June on the grounds of Polegate Town Council. As a result of government advice along with social distancing rules we are unable to let this event go ahead. We wish to put members of the public and our supporters first and their health remains our first priority. Last year we held our first ever Summer Fun Day and it raised 47% of the total funds raised for St Wilfrid’s Hospice and SERV Sussex.

We are working closely with our sponsor, The Windsor Club, to arrange another way of raising the much-needed funds but this may come later in the year.

The Polegate Scarecrow Festival 2020 will still go ahead in June and you can find out more information at www.polegatescarecrows.co.uk.

We are continuing to follow all advice issued by governing bodies, Public Health England along with HM Government to remain up to date with all the guidance that has been issued.

At this difficult time, I wish that all our supporters stay safe and well whilst remaining in contact with each other and we look forward to seeing all of your scarecrows in June.

Kindest Regards

Nathan Dunbar
