The Eastbourne Rangers (East Sussex Football League) team look to get off to a good start this week – after having the first week of the season…!

Catsfield visit the sports park in a 3pm kick off on pitch 10, with the away side the only team rangers managed to secure a league double over last season. The red and blacks put in a strong performance at Catsfield Rec coming away with a 4-1 victory which was good value, while the home tie was a tighter affair with rangers securing three points with a 2-1 win.

Catsfield started their season last weekend with a home tie against a rebuilt Herstmonceux side with ‘ceux powering into a 4 goal lead within the first 70 minutes. Catsfield mounted a mini comeback after notching up 2 goals against a tiring away side but this was not enough to prevent a 4-2 opening day defeat.

Rangers have definitely advanced on and off the pitch since last season with the club now fielding two sides for the first time in its short but successful history.

All eyes will be on rangers Saturday who will be keen to claim all three points knowing that they are already playing catch up in the league – but three consecutive home games in September will hopefully help their cause to rise up the table.

Lets get off to a good start lads!
