Greetings from Citizens Advice Eastbourne!

This is our first blog post on this site so I thought I'd make it an introduction to who we are. Most people have heard of us and surveys show around 50% of the population have used the CAB service at some point during their lives. Many people dont know that we are individual charities and as such we are responsible for our own fundraising - we dont receive funding from the national organisation or the government.

In Eastbourne we have around 60 volunteers who are supported by a small team of paid staff. We give advice to people about the problems they are facing and we also campaign to improve the policies and services which affect people's lives.

Last year we helped over 3,500 people with subjects like benefit problems, debts, housing enquiries, employment and consumer issues. We aim to answer any question that comes our way and if we can't we try and find someone who can.

You can access our service by phone on 03444 111 444 or send us an email via www.eastsussexcab.co.uk and you can find lots of advice and information on the national website www.citizensadvice.org.uk.

Our website is www.eastbournecab.co.uk and you can find out our opening times and about how to volunteer or support us in other ways. We also have twitter and facebook pages so do make friends and like us.
