I visited a Quality Streets meeting and met Katy Bourne (Sussex Crime Commissionaire)

It seems like only yesterday when I was walking alongTerminus Roadon my way to see a member of thebestofEastbourne. I had that feeling of I know them but from where. (I get that a lot and mainly because of Twitter) It was Ann Marie Field of theHeraldand they asked who I was voting for to become the new Sussex Police Crime Commissionaire. At that point I really had no idea but was certainly going to be voting. The only candidate I had seen or heard of at that point was Katy Bourne but I did not want to be quoted in the paper without knowing my facts.

Since then I have been pleased to see Katy Bourne is still active in the community and when I had the pleasure of meeting with her at a Quality Streets Meeting she certainly gave me more confidence in her ability.

The plan is to have updates from Katy Bourne via blog or even a Vlog if we have the time but I got the impression Katy Bourne wants to be "in touch" with public opinion and commented the following to us at thebestof Eastbourne.

“It was a great pleasure to join the police and partners to meet with residents of Hanover Court and discuss the local issues that matter most to them. I was glad to see evidence of such a strong community spirit in action, with people sharing information and taking crime reduction measures. It’s important we all support the work that the police carry out in our communities and I will be encouraging residents’ associations and community groups across Sussex to play their part.”

“I am working hard to meet and listen to as many local residents as I can and I am always delighted to hear from them and address their concerns.
