Embrace had a great range of stalls, with the wonderful Jack Sparrow making an appearance. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances Lumpy the Dalek and our Disney Princess couldn't make it. That didn't stop us having a brilliant day though. We were so lucky with the weather, only experiencing a little sprinkle of rain.
Inside we had a lovely array of stalls ranging from Comic Book Hero masks and capes to some lovely pieces of jewellery! Then outside we had a bouncy castle, football and not to mention our BBQ, plus so much more!
We would like to give a huge thank you to Stephen Lloyd, who came down to support our charity and did us the honour of cutting our ribbon and opening the event. It’s been great having his support and it’s always a pleasure having him involved. There are so many people to thank for their kindest and generosity, but we would like to give special thanks to Amy White, Anneliese and Mark, Louisa and Stacey, Jancine, Louis’ whole family and Frank, also Ruby and Brooke for manning the Hook the Duck stand, but generally for all your hard work and help. Patrick Long and Supream for their filming and photography as well as volunteering to get soaked. The children really enjoyed that one. Then of course everyone who helped with the setting up of the event, everyone at the Embrace Team and the parents who consistently support and donate. And of course a huge thanks to everyone who donated a prize for the Raffle and Tombola, it was incredible and overwhelming to receive such wonderful things!
We must not forget to mention St. Anthony’s Church, they provided us with the perfect location and are always happy to help us as well as Tim Walsh from Tollgate school, who helped distribute flyers and spread the word.
It was great to see all the kids laughing and smiling, having a lot of fun with all the different stalls and activities. Majority of the cakes were sold out and I think a lot of stall holders where very pleased. The turn out was fantastic and it was so amazing to see the hall so busy, with everyones help we managed to raise a huge £1063.00 for Embrace! Shocked is an understatement.
Our small charity is constantly growing and little fund raising events like this make all the difference, so once again Embrace would like to say THANK YOU so much to everyone who was involved and to all the kids who are amazing and so special.
Don’t forget our next event is our Quiz Night with the Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce. It’s going to be a great evening, with lots of entertainment and prizes.
