So it had finally arrived, the long anticipated “Back to the 80s Night”. The hall was decorated in Star Wars posters and Dirty Dancing memorabilia, and had the look of a teenager’s bedroom about it, the balloons had been blown up and the DJ was all set for what was about to explode into a “totally rad night dude”.
As Durran Durran blared out of the speakers people dressed in their wicked 80s gear started to the flock to the Eastbourne Fishermans Club ready for an awesome night out in true 80s style.
As the line grew it was clear that the Ninja turtles, the hulk, and the ghost busters would all be making an appearance.
We were delighted to welcome visitors from the surrounding towns and villages of Eastbourne and some even as far as London.
The “Embrace Singalong” was a huge success and the karaoke request list was growing as Madonna and an eighties rapper boy fought for the mic.
The prize at the end of the night for the best dressed went to Bananaman from Pevensey Bay.
The funds raised were £804.97 and this will go towards the running of the Embrace Saturday Club.
Thanks to the Fishermans Club for the loan of their hall and for being such brilliant hosts.
Check out our Facebook Page to see the excellent photos and don’t forget to tag yourselves!
Thanks for being a brilliant crowd and we can’t wait to do it for you again! If you missed out this time make sure you get tickets for our quiz night and comedy night quickly to avoid disappointment.
Due to popular request, just like Arnie in Terminator….. “We’ll be back!”
