Eastbourne Bonfire takes place tomorrow (Saturday) and organisers are promising an awesome spectacle of colourful costumes, dancers, bands and drummers in the torchlight procession along the seafront, followed by a bonfire on the beach and a spectacular fireworks display, probalby the best ever seen in the town.

The event starts at the Crown & Anchor on Marine Parade at 6p.m. where there is entertainment, face painting and catering stalls The procession leaves at 7.30p.m. and moves east along Royal Parade and Sidley Road and returns to The Crown & Anchor to re-fuel.

Re-forming, the procession of over 600 participants will process west along the seafront to the wish Tower where it terminates, the bonfire lit and the fantastic fireworks display will begin.

Secretary of the society Nick Morris told thebestof Eastbourne "it is very much an event run by the community for the community". "Collections on the night will raising funds for Children With Cancer Fund Polegate and the Mathew 25 Mission, Seaside, both very worthy local charities, and we ask the public to be generous in their donations to our bucket collectors.

Nick said "this is a family friendly event which we want everyone to enjoy, bangers, flares and fireworks during the procession are banned" The event will be heavily mashalled and every precaution has been taken to ensure public safety throughout the evening.
