Local lady, Loreen Camfield, has become the latest addition to the Children’s Respite Trust’s team of volunteer caseworkers.

The Trust has been helping families of disabled children across Sussex and parts of Surrey and Kent for the past four years and with the appointment of Loreen, the Charity is looking forward to increasing its services in the Eastbourne area.

Many of those helped by the Children’s Respite Trust have complex medical needs meaning that they require 24 hour care, which can place an enormous strain on the family. The Trust’s caseworkers begin working with a family by first of all ensuring that they are receiving all of the support from the statutory authorities to which they are entitled. Then they will often fund children to stay at a respite centre or to enjoy a regular activity, giving their parents some much-needed respite.

Gavin Fisher, Chief Executive of the Children’s Respite Trust, said of the new appointment:
“We’re delighted to have Loreen on board and to be able to increase our services to families in the Eastbourne area. Our caseworkers have many and varied backgrounds, but above all they need the right attitude and Loreen has just that.”

People wanting to find out more information about the work of the Children’s Respite Trust can visit Families wondering if the Trust can help them should call the Charity’s head office on 01435 205004.
