An update from Stephen Lloyd MP about the Save the DGH campaign

A word from our MP Stephen Lloyd about the DHG.

I thought you might be interested to receive a brief update on a debate I secured in Parliament this week on the proposed changes to our local hospital. The response from the Health Minister, Simon Burns, included a couple of useful lines which will help us in our fight to retain core services at the DGH.

At the bottom is a link to Hansard where you can read the debate in full.

Also this week I received a letter from Anne Milton MP, at the Department of Health, who said that ‘All service changes must be lead by clinicians and patients’ which is certainly not being upheld in this instance!

Liz Walke, Chair of the cross party SavetheDGH Campaign, is doing a fantastic job in leading the campaign group, so please do keep reading the Herald and listening to local TV and radio for further information as we make sure the town is kept informed of the consultation process.

Our strength is that Eastbourne and Willingdon remains utterly united in its determination to keep DGH as a fully functioning hospital, long into the future.

Please see the links below for more details.
