On Sunday, Embrace East Sussex hosted a wonderful Vintage Tea afternoon at the Lansdowne Hotel in Eastbourne. The BEST WESTERN Lansdowne Hotel is privately owned, and has been in the same family ownership since 1912. It is this that has given the hotel the personal touch that remains evident today.
Embrace was situated in one of the lounges where the hotel normally hosts an Afternoon Tea for guests and non-guests. The room was spectacular and with Embrace's very own touches, all handled by Laura and Anna.
There was an arranged seating plan for our guests to look over and see where they were siting. We had tables of 12, which allowed groups of people to sit together as well as meet somebody new.
The wonderful Sunnie Lavinia Salisbury started off the afternoon with some lovely singing. She performed a variety of genres and artists which all led up to her passing over to Tom Fitzpatrick, the main attraction of the afternoon. Whilst they were performing, the delightful staff at the Lansdowne Hotel, brought out a selection of sandwiches, tea and coffee with scones and cake to finish with. The hotel was even accommodating for those who were looking for gluten free bites, bringing out a selection of gluten free sandwiches and cakes.
The afternoon finished off with a lovely raffle. There was a great selection of gifts with a wonderful hamper as the first prize. In all it was a fabulous afternoon with great entertainment and great company. Embrace managed to raise over £600 to go towards training and supporting families that need it. We can't thank everyone enough for the kindness and generosity.
All the tickets sold out very quickly so look out for our next Vintage Tea!
