Stopped here with my 3 children over night. We stopped in the suite, we had 2 rooms - one with a queen size double bed and another room with a bunk bed. Rooms were clean, well decorated and friendly.

The staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was really good (buffet English breakfast).

Would totally recommend - great place for family’s and right next to the sea for great walks down to the pier and easy access to town centre. Parking was very cheap (2 pounds for half a day).. great hotel - we will be coming back..

It was the first time I have been there and have been taken aback. I went for a mid week celebratory meal with my husband as he has a new job. The choice on the menu was great, and there was something for all tastes. The food was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection, that much so that we took photos as did other patrons of the reastaurant as it looked great. The young ladies that were serving were happy, polite, friendly and attentive. I would certainly recommend this hotel restaurant.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and I think they are what makes a good hotel great, the room was very nice and the bed very comfortable, the shower and bathroom was ok and could do with some work but overall we were very happy with the hotel, their own lager was tasty too

It was a delight having a 5 day break at this hotel. All staff members were efficient, friendly and helpful. The young members of staff are a credit to their generation. Location, cleanliness were excellent and food both at breakfast and evening meal was tasty and adequate.

My wife and I stayed at the West Rocks from the 20th to 27th, March.
As always, I will be 100% truthful with my review,

Our greeting was warm and friendly and we were directed to our room, after wrestling with the lift door we made our way to the 2nd floor and our room.
We had a large room with a double and a single bed, and an equally large well appointed bathroom.
Our first impression of the room was that some of the furnishings were very tired, but the majority were acceptable,
A modern 24 inch tv was provided together with adequate tea and coffee.

The room and bathroom were nice and clean, the bed linen and towels were brightest white and very well laundered.

Our evening meal that evening was in the lower floor dining area, an unpretentious but clean and functional room, Formica tables and laid with all cutlery, napkins and condiments.
A three course menu was offered with three or four choices on each courses, my wife a pescatarian was well catered for and if nothing was to her liking the chef would conjure up something ( but this was never necessary). I will report on the serving staff later!

We were told that we would dine in the dining room for four nights and then on Friday and Saturday we would dine in the upstairs a la carte restaurant. We discovered that this was because a coach party were being accommodated mon to fri and we would dine with them.
We had four good meals in the dining room, and four days pleasantly full and satisfied on good honest home cooked style food.
On the two nights in the restaurant we were given an allowance which was adequate for three courses,the restaurant was modern, bright and stylish. The food was very nice, individually prepared dishes, again I will report on the staff later!

The hotel was warm, clean and friendly, my dog was welcome and the hotel is situated in an enviable position on the seafront.

And finally the staff !!!!!!! Apart from the manager, Ian, the staff were all young (ish) late teens early twenties. They were possibly the nicest, friendliest and most efficient group of youngsters we have ever encountered, they were a credit to young people, and I really could not single out any one in particular for good service, they were all excellent.

We found them willing to engage in conversation with us “oldies” and they told us how much they liked working at west rocks, how it had improved their life skills, how they felt they were part of a team building a viable business with a good reputation. Multi tasking was the order of the day for everyone, manager included from reception to waiting to running the bar everyone multitasked in a happy manner.

Be aware, if you are going to the west rocks, don’t expect the Ritz, that it is not, it does not pretend to be, it is a three star hotel which is striving to give excellent value for money, it is warm, clean and very friendly.
They do not pretend to be what they are not, they are not a little boutique hotel offering the best in wining and dining, they do offer excellent value for money in a warm, clean and friendly atmosphere.

I have awarded them four stars in my review, after some redecorating and refurbishing (which I am told is being commenced this year) I would happily give it five stars in its category.

Jacquie and I will return to the west rocks in the future and look forward to meeting our new friends once more.

Stayed 4 nights on coach trip from Shropshire. First room (40) was rear view, very basic. The next day we discovered neither the shower or the telephone worked we were moved to side sea view room (24). Better decorative order. The beds are fine, decent bed linen, but the ensuite of both rooms was extremely 'compact' 40 shower area and 24 toilet space would be challenging to anyone of a large build. The food was fine, the staff worked hard and were very pleasant. Reception and bar rarely manned, had to ring for attention. Slight concern when we saw a fellow guest walk into the unlocked reception room to search for his room key. Glad we had chosen to keep ours with us at all times. In spite of the above we had an enjoyable stay and at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

This is is fourth time staying at TheWest Rocks hotel and I can honestly say I will return . The hotel itself is a Georgian building and retains much of the original design . It has been sympathetically brought up to date with modern bathrooms and fittings . Some of the decor is quirky but this only reflects the casualness that exudes from friendly staff that make your stay feel as if you are visiting a relative .
It's not the ultra modern hotel you would find in London but for visiting Eastbourne it's ideal .
Five stars from me as I cannot fault The West Rocks Hotel .

Wow what a lovely old school friendly and fun hotel, all staff were very attentive and organisers of the weekend were so welcoming and warm.

Comfortable bed with WiFi and a decent sized bathroom.

Beautiful sea view and right on the sea front not far from local amenities.

Can’t wait to go back and do it all again.

I was originally booked in to ' The View ' hotel opposite, but we needed extra rooms for delegates.
This smart modern hotel in an Edwardian building is on Grand Parade facing the sea a ten minute walk from the town centre shops & the pier . Good value & cosy. Bedrooms are a reasonable size , well decorated , mine on the 3rd floor faces the sea . Staff are relaxed & friendly. Wifi works on all floors . Clean . I haven't had breakfast yet but the restaurant & breakfast room look nice . Competitive price .

This was my second visit here for a clubbing weekender. I really haven fallen in love with this quirky lovely hotel, it is perfectly positioned along the sea front with fab views - If you get a sea view room be sure to check out the amazing sunrise, well worth staying up late/getting up early for!!
The staff are always warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them, making both stays a real pleasure. And generally the hotel seems to be very smoothly run and well organised.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely sized and I can very much recommend the breakfasts!!
I do also come to Eastbourne for business occasionally and I would always choose to stay here from now on.
West Rocks really does rock!! Highly recommended.

Wow! What a great venue! We have just held a coffee morning for all our volunteers in the West Rocks Hotel, lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and of course lovely tea, coffee and very yummy cakes! We will definitely be using this hotel again, great meeting place with a beautiful view of the sea.

Love this hotel. Stayed for the third time last weekend. Why is it so amazing? Firstly the location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the train station and right on the sea front. Just a short stroll to the pier and some great restaurants. Secondly the staff are super friendly. Special mention to Ian the hotel manager and Dan the bar man who remembered us from our last visit and always had a friendly smile for us. The hotel may not be the most modern but all the rooms are very comfortable, well decorated and great for the price.
If you’re looking for a locally owned, friendly hotel with large clean rooms in a great location this is the place to come.

West Rocks Hotel provided the ultimate and intimate Hard House party environment a clubber could ask for. Our first experience was 'A Vicious Weekend Away With Ben Stevens' an exciting NEW clubbing experience that was unbelievable value for for money with a friendly clean and comfortable setting, an awesome atmosphere that truly tops many HH event experiences had before and the most recent visit at 'A Weekend Away With Rob Tissera unbelievably surpassed the first visit!!!! beautiful venue with comfortable surroundings and friendly staff TIP TOP experience...

I had a good size room with lovely sea views. The breakfast was yummy. The event was organised well, with friendly, helpful & polite staff. I would happily visit West Rocks Hotel again. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

West rocks hotel is such a lovely place to stay your welcomed from the minute you arrive , the staff are so nice and helpful the rooms are fantastic the food is good it’s my second visit and will definitely be back this weekend was my birthday and I had the best time 😀

I stayed here with my husband for a long weekend for an event and i have to say this hotel is a great place to stay. The rooms are fresh, light and clean, with lovely views of the sea. The staff are all friendly, helpful and accommodating. It's location is ideal for walking into town or along the pier. We would also recommend a meal in the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't find any fault, would highly recommend as its such a great deal.

The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely located a short walk from the town centre. And overlooking the sea! We had a nice room with a sea view. It’s not luxury but it’s certainly value for money and fine for a few days. The breakfast was great! All in all perfect for a weekend away!

Great friendly staff. 2nd time I've stayed. A jolly time was had by all. Will definitely visit again very soon. Can nearly touch the beach and a short walk to the pier. Rooms are comfortable and spacious

What a great hotel, staff are all friendly and helpful with very good drinks prices.

We stayed in a double room that was huge, typical of a Victorian building, with creaky floorboards and high ornate ceilings with a huge bay window overlooking the ocean.

The bathroom had a bath with overtop shower with much more space than the average en-suite. Very clean and well looked after.

The bed was amazingly comfortable with firm pillows and fresh white bed linen. As I mentioned this is an old Victorian building so the old sash windows do allow in some noise from the road, I'm a heavy sleeper, my wife however needed her ear plugs to keep out the traffic noise that begun in the morning. No cause for concern though I think it all adds to a charming and characterful stay in this beach front hotel.

A real gem along the Eastbourne seafront. Great staff and when they say yummy breakfast they really mean it. Couldn't recommend any higher. The hotel rooms are well kept and the evening entertainment schedule is brilliant.

Fantastic stay in the Deluxe sea view room again,excellent friendly hotel and a 1st class as much as you want breakfast.We often stay here when we want a break away and this hotel always delivers.

Perfect location and a typical seaside hotel. Very friendly staff, eager and helpful. Lovely original interior and rooms huge. We upgraded to a front Seaview with large triple bay windows, exactly what we asked for.

The bedroom was lovely and light and the actual electrical lights were plenty, this room was far from dingy. The bed was a tad on the soft side and a new mattress would be welcome. The room looked a little tired but was clean, spacious, bright and everything there that was needed.

Breakfast was superb, everything you could want was there. Full cooked items, yoghurt with fruit and coulis, cereals, juice, pastries and even porridge if requested.

A parking permit was offered which was a lovely touch as we had expected to pay.

Location wise, walkable to the pier and shopping centre behind. Absolutely fantastic Seaview unspoilt, I laid in bed and could clearly see the sea.

Out of season West Rocks was bang on the nose, in season I'd love to try but am guessing it still wouldn't disappoint.

You won't regret staying here!

We had a sea view with en-suite on the top floor. Great for watching the sea and the joggers. Friendly staff and plentiful cooked breakfasts. Parking was with permit, just outside. The Band Stand & Pier (with Victorian Tea Room & fish & chips) weren't far to the left. Even in January you could walk a long way along the promenade either way. Fantastic views from Beachy Head & The Seven Sisters. My ONLY criticism was that despite there being plenty of notices, people didn't always close the lift doors when leaving it, and therefore it couldn't operate. Staff would run up to deal with it.

went here with gibbons coaches. this hotel is one off the best iv stayed at with a coach compony ever. the staff were so helpful the hotel was very clean.food was great.id recomend room 35 the veaw was great

Just returned from a 5 day break with our group from 2ks Travel and what a lovely time we have had.
This is a beautiful hotel which has undergone considerable refurbishment. It is ideally located on the sea front and a short walk into town.
All the rooms are clean with really comfortable beds and fresh large towels changed every day. There was a good choice of menu available with a choice of 3 main courses each evening and the breakfast was just what they said yummy!! It was help yourself so you could have as much or as little as you wanted and it was the tastiest bacon I have ever tasted. We had entertainment which was very good and the 2hrs happy hour!!!! on the bar was great.
The staff were friendly and helpful and because they were permanent staff you could tell they enjoyed their work.
We all loved it and have booked to return.
So thanks again to Ian & Christian you’re doing a great job.
