A warm welcome awaits at West Rocks and you couldn't get a better location. Literally across the road lies the wonderful Eastbourne promenade and beach, with walks either East to the pier and beyond or West towards Beachy Head. The town is a ten minute stroll away and coffee bars and restaurants are on your doorstep. Parking is made easy because West Rocks offers daily vouchers at £1. This small hotel is aiming to become, "boutique", in style and at the moment this is work in progress so some rooms are more comfortable than others. Downstairs is a welcoming and relaxing lounge area , a restaurant, ( excellent food), and bar area, all with sea views. In the basement lies another restaurant where a buffet breakfast is served. The owners and staff make sure you get all the attention you need. Location, style, delicious food and first rate service are turning West Rocks into THE place to stay in glorious Eastbourne. If you go now, be patient as some of the refurbishment is still under way but don't let this put you off booking.

We spent one night here in early March. The hotel is in the process of being totally refurbished and all the main public areas are complete. Our bedroom was newly painted and had a brand new bathroom. The room was small but very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was lovely. The hotel is right on the sea front and walking distance from the town. It's a lovely hotel and we'd definitely go back. I'm sure it will be even better when all the work is complete. Excellent value for money.

It's under refurbishment so don't expect perfection. The rooms are clean and reasonably priced but it is work in progress so go stay there expecting to see workmen around. The breakfast is great and the restaurant is really worth visiting. The food is excellent and excellent value.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in Eastbourne. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. We didn't have an evening meal or lunch here, just drinks at the bar but I can say they do a nice breakfast and the service is very good. The location is very nice on the parade. We've stayed in some excellent hotels which get my 5 star rating, so I've given 3 stars in comparison. All in all a nice place to stay and good value.

Although slightly dated in appearance, the hotel is perfectly situated for both the town, seafront and the beautiful South downs. Parking is subsidised for hotel guests and the rooms are very comfortable and clean.
The thing that really sets this hotel apart is the staff. I have rarely stayed anywhere where i have been so warmly welcomed and catered to. We even had our breakfast delivered to our room because we needed to leave before the restaurant opened. I cannot recommend or commend the staff of the West Rocks Hotel enough.

The hotel is very well situated on the sea front near to the bandstand and the bar, lounge and restaurant have a lovely view of the sea. The service is excellent and very friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very good value for money. The hotel is presently being refurbished and some of the corridors have rather dated decor. We would stay here again.

never used trip advisor before but will use all the time now booked this after a friend found it reading reviews, haven't been to Eastbourne for ages and I am spending a week in a cottage near rye thought I would re visit the sunshine coast so picked this hotel based on reviews, very good price, lovely staff and lovely food, only stayed 1 night but loved it
the corpulent lady who checked me in was great and she was working again at breakfast and other staff were lovely 2 but spoke to this lovely lady twice so remember her [maybe name badges are needed so we can know your names] room was clean but will book a sea view next time as it must be great view many thanks

I treated me and my boyfriend to a night away for his birthday. The hotel is currently being refurbished an we were in room 4 which is yet to be refurbished. Dispite this the bed was lovely and cosy and though the room was not as pretty as it shall be when fully done up it was perfectly functional and made for a cosy stay.
The hotel is in a good location right next to the beach and walking distance to the town centre. Parking is on street but if you pop in to the hotel you can pick up a parking pass for your stay for £1.

All the staff were friendly and welcoming, as they always say manners cost nothing yet so many places these days our let down by their customer service, well not here!

Visited for a evening of dinner and jazz. Amazing value for a good two course meal. Great music. This will be the first of many visits . All of my guests are of the shame opinion .

My wife and I stayed here for one night at the bargain price of £50 including breakfast.
On arrival at reception we were given a warm and friendly greeting, offered a menu for the evening's dishes in the restaraunt and directions and times for breakfast the following morning.
The room was warm, clean and comfortable. A good sized bed and plenty of pillows.
A lot of the hotel has recently been updated. The bar, breakfast room, restaraunt and reception are all bright open spaces, well furnished and comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent. Self service cooked and continental breakfasts with fruit juice and tea/coffee. High quality sausages and bacon and, again, great service from friendly and professional staff.
I was very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

This is a typical Victorian seafront hotel, we had a good stay bought wine and relaxed in the bar for a couple of hours watching the seen outside, staff very attentive and helpful. Comfortable and very clean bedrooms, certainly will stay again. Recommend to anyone.

Staff very happy, friendly and professional, everywhere was very clean, beds comfortable, dinner and breakfast lovely, we couldn't have found anywhere better for our theatre break. Perfectly situated near the theatre and easy to walk into town centre. Would definately stay again and would recommend it to anyone who prefers a more personnal intimate service rather than staying in one of the bigger, chain hotels.

The hotel is close to the theatre with great food and friendly staff we would definitely stay there again. Bar was very reasonably priced and the beds were comfortable with lovely sea views. The staff were helpful printing maps n making sure we had dinner in time for the theatre

We have recently returned from a weekend stay at the above hotel. Everything was excellent from the time we arrived to the time we left. On arrival the room we were given was not as l had been led to believe by the photo on the website but Ian changed this for us straight away to a lovely big room with fantastic sea views. All the staff were extremely helpful especially Nick the restaurant manager who went out of his way to provide us with excellent food and wonderful service. We will return!!

We stayed Nye for one night in room 35 which is a triple room, perfect for us being a family of 3.The view is amazing and everything in the room is clean and tidy. As the hotel is under refurbishment the hallways etc are only left to complete.
The breakfast was good, and all staff etc were helpful and friendly and all work as a team to ensure your stay is perfect.
We would just like to add a couple of recommendations, the blinds in the bathroom are frayed and let alot of light in, perhaps blackout blinds would very more appropriate as at night with light on I'm sure rooms from neighbouring hotels could see through.... If you have a nosey neighbour. Also the bathroom window need adjusting as even when shut they rattled in the wind, but considering the age of the building it's lovely that alot of traditional features have been kept.
We will definitely be back for a visit and as long as the current members of staff keep up the fab work and high standards you will
succeed.

Lovely rooms, food and very friendly and accommodating staff. We have stayed at this hotel twice now and would definitely visit again. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to help and provide an excellent service. The rooms are spotless and have a modern fresh feel, with great sea views. Would definitely recommend!

I stayed here for new years eve so not a long period but first impressions Count. The room was old fashioned but the sheets were clean and warm. As I understand the hotel is under new management. The staff were friendly and willing to help. I personally judge a hotel by the bar. For a hotel bar the prices were low and competitive to some of the bars in central Eastbourne. Brilliant selection of wine and although quiet there is a warm atmosphere. I personally wish them well and I will be booking again for new year this year.

We stayed here after having a family/friends meal get together prior to Christmas. Food was really good, hot and plentiful. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Hotel is in need and process of refurbishment but downstairs is done and looks lovely, basement where we had breakfast was equally good. Our room was dated but immaculately clean. Nothing was too much trouble. We were made welcome and will definitely book it again next year for same event and hope to see the same level of refurbishment and excellent taste.

Highly recommended-give it a try, look beyond the dated decor and see what this hotel will achieve.

Very very friendly staff and nothing to much trouble , breakfast was amazing help yourself to as much as you want and all locally sourced bacon , sausages Eggs . The bar prices were very reasonable as well. All the hall Stairs and landing is work in progress at the moment and there are signs to tell you this but I'm sure it won't be long before it's all done .

Allowing for the fact that the hotel is undergoing extensive refurbishment at this time, the facilities offered were first class. The room was well laid out clean and comfortable. The dining area and lounge/bar were excellent with the lounge offering views over the sea. The food was very enjoyable; but above all we were both really impressed with the warmth and friendliness of the staff., going out of their way to ensure that we had everything that we required. We will almost certainly return again. This was our first Christmas away from the family and we thoroughly enjoyed the break. Thanks once again to everyone involved.

We had a fantastic lunch with friends last Sunday at the Channel Restaurant. The view is amazing and the staff were warm and friendly and could not do more to make our experience lovely. The food was delicious especially the Roast Beef. The beef melted in the mouth and was served with a generous amount of vegetables . A lovely touch is your own mini vegetable portion with your own gravy jug! Loved it! For dessert I had a selection of locally sourced cheese. All were delicious . On my next visit I need to try the local icecream . Chris and Steve have created a wonderful warm and welcoming dining experience and I would recommend this as a fabulous destination when in Eastbourne.

Had our Christmas works 'do' at the Westrocks.The food was top notch and all of us were more than happy with the food,service and general ambience.Chris and Steve,the owners,had laid on a DJ from Brighton so we all moved through to another room where we danced off the calories.All in all a fantastic evening with the owners joining in which was a lovely touch.Would highly recommend this venue.It's smart,clean and the decor is really up-to-date.Thanks to everyone for a great night.
