Me and my partner came here to stay for our anniversary weekend we decided to have an evening meal in the restaurant so glad we made the choice to as the food was absolutely delicious we both had fillet steak on the rocks then had puddings which were also delicious I recommend you come here to stay and eat I've never slept so well in a hotel well done to all

Had a lovely meal out at the west rocks hotel with my family. All meals were cooked to perfection and the steak stones are a brilliant idea. Definitely would go again as we were served by a lovely waiter called Ali and the food was cooked by chef Craig.
Such a beautiful hotel beautifully located on the seafront, it has fantastic views whilst you eat.

Stayed here for one night as a last minute get away in the late may bank holiday last year on a b & b basis.The room and bathroom were pretty basic but clean,and the bed comfortable.Just couldn't believe how lucky we were to get a fantastic sea view for the money we paid.The hotel staff were excellent,the bar in the hotel was well stocked and the breakfast had plenty of choice and was well cooked.The hotel itself sits virtually on the beach front in a very good central location that is easy to find,the only criticism i had was there was no mention on the booking site about the £1.00 bargain parking ticket charge you can obtain from the hotel on arrival,needless to say we paid full price.That aside we would definitely return to this hotel.

We recently stayed in the West Rocks Hotel along with a group of friends. The hospitality of the staff, along with the quality of service, contributed greatly to a wonderful weekend.
The hotel is situated right on the seafront and we were allocated a front-facing room with a stunning sea view. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom spotless and the tea/coffee plentiful.
A special mention must go to the in-house restaurant, The Channel, where we ate twice during our stay. Staff and food were most excellent. The steak on the stone must be experienced and I found the hake dish to be exceptional.

This small, attractive and quaint hotel is nicely located by the Western lawns. Although we live local we have stayed here once and would recommend it as a friendly and affordable hotel.
It is slightly older than were into but it's still very warming and attractive.

I had business in town so decided to stay over in Eastbourne that evening. I was pleasantly greeted by the staff who showed me to my sea view room. Which I must say was very nice.
I decided to eat at the hotel restaurant as the food was reported to be outstanding. Well it certainly was. I would recommend the stake cooking on a hot stone. Very nice.
Desert was lovely too.
Can't fault the staff and the food.

At short notice, I booked 2 rooms for me, my wife and our 3 children (11, 10 and 8). The price included breakfast. On every level, we scored the hotel very highly. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The hotel itself is very clean and well presented. The breakfast room in the basement is spacious, clean and the food was spot on. The real surprise though was the restaurant, as we opted to have our evening dinner there. I had a magnificent Rib Eye steak, cooked on the sizzling hot stone on my table. My wife thought the Sea Bass was delicious. All of my kids had Fish and Chips which they thoroughly enjoyed. Parking was ever so easy on the main road overlooking the sea and the hotel will sell you a special £1 parking voucher for each day which is a bargain. The pier is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel and is very conveniently located. I booked the hotel on the strength of the online reviews. I now know why the feedback was so good. The hotel is an excellent place to stay and I would have no hesitation recommending it.

We stayed for 2 nights on bank holiday.Warm, welcoming, helpful & happy staff, nothing is too much trouble. Being refurbed tastefully & modern, quiet & comfortable room on 3rd floor, spotlessly clean. The complimentary brekky was very nice, fresh, well cooked, having a varied choice in lovely surroundings with extremely polite & happy waiting staff. The Channel restaurant within the hotel is amazing & the 'stone cook steak' a fabulous experience served with decent steaks & a lovely, fresh salad etc. The bread & olive mix is a nice touch whilst you wait for your meal. A huge thankyou to all the staff at the hotel, thankyou for making us feel so welcome, we will definitely be back soon.

Very clean, attractive seafront room, in a very welcoming charming little hotel. Breakfast was very tasty, in a light bright kitchen diner, and evening dinner, also delicious, was in a stylish and relaxed restaurant. Strongly recommend.

All local restaurants full of pre-theatre goers! But found this sea front hotel open to non residents. Unusual innovative menu.Absolutely first class meal.Enjoyed the ambience of
the dining room .Quirky tea cup chandeliers.Friendly attentive staff.After my meal I was given a tour of bedrooms as I will definitely return for a holiday here.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the West Rocks April 2016. The rooms are very clean and modern. The bar area and restaurant are well presented and very reasonably priced. The Staff were very helpful. In fact we had such a nice time we have recently re-booked to go again in August.

It's across the road from the beach and not far from theatres and shops. On-street parking was easy enough in April. The hotel sells vouchers for £1 per day.
We had a single and a double room; both were small. Our bathroom is probably the smallest I have had in a hotel. The shower was a little difficult to use, but not as bad as the toilet.
TV and coffee/tea making facilities were fine.
Breakfast was included if booking direct with the hotel. It's a buffet featuring cereals, breads and English breakfast items. The sausages were excellent, but the bacon was a bit tough.
The staff were pleasant.
It's a good hotel for one or two nights at most.

We chose this hotel because it was close to the Congress Theatre where we were seeing a show. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff who couldn't do more for you. Lovely Breakfast and super cocktails.

It was a lovely hotel right on the seafront. Owners and people who work there are friendly and really helpful and the breakfast was delicious. However, the shower had absolutely no power - you could have done a better job with a flannel! There were 8 of us and we had 4 rooms and they were all the same. We mentioned it to reception and they said they are better in the afternoon - who showers in the afternoon?
I was OK as I have short hair but my friend had a nightmare trying to rinse her long hair.
They have a good system of parking - £1 to park on the pay and display bays and it lasts until 11am so you don't have to rush out too early to get a new one.

We were disappointed to be given à room with only a wall for a view. Someone had obviously been sick in the bathroom it was all over the tiles. The hotel is well situated And the staff are very nice. Unfortunatly they dont make up for the shortcomings. As for the yummy breakfast at £8 per person it was anything but yummy.

For the second year we organised a lunch time meal for 26 guests.
We were able to choose our dishes in advance for a 3 course meal with choice of 3 dishes per course. The service was very efficient and discreet. The meal was excellent, in pleasant surrounding. The staff could not do enough to oblige.

Staff on reception were always friendly and helpful, room was clean, but bathroom was very small for a family room. Others have pointed out that the hotel is being refurbished, so some parts do look dated. But the location right on the seafront is excellent.
The so called "Yummy Breakfast" experience on the first day was terrible - worst breakfast I have had in years. Beans were dried, eggs were hard, plates were cold. Paper tablecloths, poor choice of fruit and yoghurts and sometimes intrusive music playing. Decided after this that it would be worth getting down to breakfast earlier - at least the eggs weren't quite so hard and the beans were edible. Coffee was good - but overall the breakfast experience was the worst I have had in years. A major disappointment and definitely not "yummy". Shame, as it wouldn't take much to improve the dining experience.
On the other hand the deal we got was good. So good value I suppose, but the breakfast experience would put me off staying here again.

We were promised a recently renovated room with a sea view. It had a sea view out the window, but it was west-facing, not directly facing the sea. And the paint was peeling in the bathroom, the shower holder fell off several times, and a folded cardboard box (feozen hash browns, see below) with blue tac covered a hole in the wall, an old fireplace I think. The breakfast was more of a full English/Continental buffet and also not terribly impressive, including the hashtag browns. The bed was comfortable, the staff were pleasant, the lift a piece of history that the kids found intriguing, and the location great, right on the main road.

We stayed for two nights in early March. The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Great location with sea views. A lovely little bar area with good priced drinks. The customer service was excellent. Don't get too excited, it's not a 5 star shangri-la style hotel, but still worth a visit for a mid price/mid range hotel. Top tip: don't book via booking.com. If you book direct with the hotel, you get added benefit of complementary breakfast!

Just returned from a four night stay at West Rocks, we were part of a coach tour visiting the area, food was very good with a varied choice, however this was a set menu for the coach tour only. Staff were very nice and nothing was to much trouble. The Hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment with lower grounds completed and working up to higher floors. This did not affect our stay.

We had a family room on the third floor which was enough for my daughter, my partner and I. The bath panel was coming away from the bath but was fixed quickly when staff were notified. The view was beautiful fro our window and the room was spacious and clean. Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was ok... not sure if it was worth £8.00 but enough choice for all of the family. Would come back again. A big thank you to Ian.

Some work had been carried out and now a year later its obvious the work continues when opportunity arises-when guests are not to be inconvenienced or sections of this hotel were empty.
We were able to book a ground floor en suite bedroom that is on the side of the establishment and having a baby window and being opposite the sea and esplanade gives really good views-you could with the sun shining imagine being on a Greek Island!
There is a restaurant which we didn't use and a bar and lounge area which are quite comfortable.
Breakfast is arranged in the basement and comprises various cereals, facility to toast white or brown bread and then a long-range with English breakfast items. Juice is on tap. Hot drinks-tea and coffee are supplied by hovering waiting staff.
Talking to the Manager plans are afoot to continue the improvements and enhancements as and when feasible

Had the most amazing stay at the West Rocks last weekend, the staff took care of our every need, the rooms are immaculate with great facilities, clean and fresh with amazing sea views and the sound of the sea that lulls you into a restful sleep.
Breakfast was a delight with lots to choose from and plenty of it, the bar is well stocked and the hotel is decorated to a high standard.
