Stayed here for two nights, and it was ok. Could be a lovely, quirky hotel, and there is evidence they are trying to achieve that as you entered reception and communal areas. But the rooms are dated and a complete let down. When we arrived, we were allocated a room on the third floor. The room was small, damp, with big patches of flaky paint coming off the walls. The plug socket on the wall was also hanging off. I went to reception to asked to be moved, and they were helpful, apologetic and found me another room. Second room was ok. Bathroom really dated. Layout not properly thought about (headboard wasn't in line with bed) and the furniture was mix and match. There was no fridge either. Best features of the room was the view, and comfy bed.

West Rocks hosted a fun and entering wine tasting evening last Friday, that we had the pleasure to attend. Fabulous wines, and great hosting by the West Rocks Team, with Francois leading the way. With more of these evenings planned, we will be sure to return.

We booked a seat at the "Love of Wine" - Wine Tasting. It was a wonderful few hours spent meeting new people who shared the same love as we have for wine. We were privileged to taste wines from across the world which were paired with some incredible taster meals.
The evening was hosted by an enchanted member of staff, Francois; who taught us some fun facts and how to impress our friends at a dinner party.
Thank you for a lovely evening. We most certainly will be attending another one of your monthly wine evenings.

hotel has a very good position on the esplanade. room was very spacious with sea view. It had a modern interieur and was very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. breakfast was cooked well. Had valentines dinner in the The Channel Restaurant and got very good value for the money. good selection of wines at fair prices.

Booked the west rocks direct and got a great deal on our room. On arrival we was upgraded to a room with sea view. Our room was adequate and meeted our needs, clean and tidy and a comfortable bed. We have stayed here before and as the other times we were not disappointed. Breakfast was buffet style with cereal and fruit also juices, tea or coffee. The cooked breakfast was good, hot and plentiful.
We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. We would recommend this hotel when visiting eastbourne.

We stayed for one night while visiting my future Father in Law - there was parking available for £1 which was handy.
I think this is a good location and the staff were a credit. In our room the bathroom was newly remodeled but was very compact and seemed to be lacking an extractor fan. There were toiletries available which was good.
The TV in the room was tiny, and the batteries in the remote had leaked and died so we couldnt change the channel until i cleaned the remote and changed the batteries. The bed was fine but the room was roasting hot when we got in.
Drinks at the hotel where a little on the high side. We did not eat there.
I would probably look to try somewhere else but the room was not massively expensive but i probably expected more for what was paid.

We fancied a trip to Eastbourne and looked for something affordable with the required sea view. It took a while looking at various places in the area but we came up with West Rocks Hotel. I am glad we did! Situated in a prime position on the front between the bandstand and a tower the hotel was already ticking boxes. Warm welcome at reception and throughout our stay from the other staff members. We boarded the small lift. (I mean small!) we got to our room (17). Huge room! Amazing sea view as well. Worth the extra. The decor was plain but clean. Quite a large screen tv. Desk, bedside tables and a telephone. The en suite was okay with a good shower.
Breakfast was hot and plentiful. It might be an idea to cook eggs to order or provide scrambled eggs. They tend to go a bit hard under the hot lamp. Would it be possible to also provide grilled or tinned tomatoes as well? (wife's favourite!) here again the staff were welcoming and helpful.

So I did not stay in a small room with no real view, then again I paid for a premium room. If you can go for a sea view then do it. If not then there is always the help yourself breakfast!

3rd year in a row we've spend our holidays between Christmas and New Year at the West Rocks Hotel .We love it. The staff makes you feel right at home. They are great with dogs. Lovely bar and restaurant. We love Eastbourne and we love West Rocks Hotel! We'll be back next year!

Stayed one night in deluxe room - expensive but lovely sea views. Room was quite big and comfy but could do with extras like hairdryer, mini fridge to make it 4*. Staff really friendly and helpful. Nice bar - quite small but wasn't busy when we were there. Very good breakfast but only served until 9.30am, which is a bit early- especially on New Year's Day!

A night away to celebrate New Year and this hotel came up on Booking.com at a good rate with good reviews.
Great position just across the road from the beach, room had a lovely view. Classic British sea side hotel. Lovely clean family room with TV and kettle with tea and coffee. Bathroom a bit snug but clean and nice fresh towels.
Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Beautiful Victorian building with period features, room lovely and warm despite horrid wet and windy weather, comfortable beds.
If you are looking for a sleek, refined 5* abode then this is not for you but if you are looking for a warm, friendly British seaside hotel in a historic building then you can't do better.

Spent 4 days over Christmas, had a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Food was excellent, staff attentive, friendly & caring. Our dog most welcome, which is important to us as dog owners. We hope to return in the future. Very many thanks to all.

We stayed here in August 2016 and really enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, we had a luxury double with a sea view and wow what a view! It was a full moon the night we stayed and was incredible. The room was comfortable and spacious and very good value for money. The parking was very easy with a £1 voucher and there were plenty of spaces when we arrived at 1pm. We didn't eat there so can't comment on food. Drinks in the bar priced very sensibly and fairly. Location good and easy to get to the pier and shops and we always go to the RNLI shop to buy something. Thanks, we will be back next year or hopefully before!

The hotel corridors and stairwells feel a little dated but the restaurants and the bar are more modern and well decorated/furnished, as are the bedrooms - you can see the hotel is gradually being improved and upgraded
There is only a 5/10 min walk to the town, Pier and Wish Tower, we only ate breakfast at the hotel and this was a buffet which had a good choice available, the staff are very helpful and friendly - we will be staying again

Amazing food i never liked seafood .its made me love it for it was in a oriental modern cuisine .i love the wine bar .so stylish .the waiting staff make you feel so welcomed . So did the bar staff .they talked to us and wanted to know about our life's this never happens in pub. And the background music fabulous easy listening ie Anita Baker my fab singers of all time

The room was a comfortable double with a good sized bed and bedding, an ensuite shower/WC that was functional but with dated design, and a view to the bin store at the rear.
The two members of staff we met were polite and cheerful, and the lift didn't break down - despite its age.
The lounge at the front "the cake room", looked lovely, and if we'd stayed any longer we'd have used it. We didn't take breakfast either.
The in-room tea/coffee facilities were ok, but we were unsure how well the cups had actually been cleaned - a film of offputting grime formed on our tea.
