Excellent B & B. Hosts Judith & Greg were brilliant, nothing too much trouble. Room was huge. Whole place was very clean and modern. Beds comfortable, even a walk in wardrobe on our room. Breakfast was amazing. Cooked well, lots of choices too. Best bit was it has its own car park at rear of building which is a plus in Eastbourne. Close to all amenities and lots to do and visit. Lovely few days stay at the Sheldon. Will deffinately stay again soon.

We stayed in room no 33 which was clean spacious and ideal for our needs. The staff was friendly, our host and hostess were very helpful with nothing too much trouble for them. Breakfast was probably the best in Eastbourne.

From the moment we arrived, and the welcome that we received, we knew that we had chosen well.Judith and Greg were kindness itself, and our room was lovely - everything clean and fresh and an excellent assortments of tea, coffee etc.There is so much at the hotel which would benefit families - a superb room for children should the weather turn wet, a good lounge with lots of books and the breakfasts were wonderful - especially the poached eggs! There was so much choice in cereals, jams, and hot food and we were able to come and go as we wished.I heartily recommend the Sheldon as the situation of the hotel is great with two excellent Italian restaurants, a Spanish tapas restaurant and a little supermarket all just 5 minutes walk away. Although there is no evening meal, you are able to order takeaways or bring your own food and wine and use the dining room to eat, with instructions to leave your dirty plates and cups close to the kitchen! The hotel is set in a quiet road too and there is free parking behind the hotel which is a real bonus. It only takes a short walk to get to the sea front, the Towner Art Gallery, Devonshire Park, The Congress and the Winter Gardens. All in all, do choose the Sheldon for a great break and a happy time. We shall definitely return next time we visit Eastbourne.

The Shelton is on a quiet side street, but close to the beach front. The 1850 era townhouse is beautifully restored and updated with attention to detail. Beautiful room, comfortable bed with nice details for comfort.

WE have stayed twice at the Sheldon and would thoroughly recommend it for an overnight stay or a holiday. Staff are supportive, helpful and pleasant. Accommodation is clean bright and spacious and within 3 mins of restaurants, 5 mins shops, shopping arcade and main line train station, 3 mins to seafront and theatres.

Lovely B & B - friendly family run establishment. Rooms are comfy and breakfast is individualy cooked and very good. Would stay here again any time. Situated in a great location- close to the seafront and excellent pubs and restaurants.

We stayed over after the Abba tribute show. The location was spot on for the Bandstand, as was the off-street parking. Judith was knowledgeable and a delight to talk to regarding hotel and local information. Our room was very comfortable; we had a terrific night's sleep and a very tasty breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed very much staying at The Sheldon! Perfect location for visiting Eastbourne and the neighbourhood. Close to Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters where you can make amazing walks! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The hosts are very friendly and helpfull. We would definitely return!

This is a wonderful, family run business that cannot do enough to please their customers. They have a wide range of rooms to suit all budgets and people, from modest singles to massive family rooms! The hotel serves a delicious breakfast and is a stone's throw away from the seafront and town centre. This is the perfect place for exploring Eastbourne and beyond.

The quilt is very comfortable and warm. The omelette is superb! We only regret that we didn't have enough time to enjoy the lounge (or playroom) on the ground floor! It's also very close to both the beach and railway station, as well as the bus stop to Seven Sisters.

We found the Sheldon B&B to be first class. Free parking, huge modern comfortable room and the breakfast was more than adequate. Great location a five minute walk from the pier. We would definitely return and recommend to others.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at The Sheldon.Very much enjoyed it. Nice room, friendly staff, smashing breakfast. The little extras like the use of the fridge & microwave with no restrictions on bringing your own wine or food in etc. all go to make this a nice B&B. Will stay here again some time in the future.Free Car park great ( only problem was the car driver that parked so close to me that the only way to get in my car on the day we left was for me to climb in through the passenger side & then found door marks to the side of my car when I got home!!)

The Sheldon has a good location a few minutes walk from the sea and 10 minutes from the station. The room was bright and airy and the bed really comfortable. The bathroom was small but recently renovated and did the job. The staff were friendly though the young man could have been a bit more helpful in trying to order a taxi. The breakfast was a very standard one. Sliced bread for toast, bacon the kind you find in mass catering and weak filter coffee. One family had brought their own cafetière. The photos are on the front, a few minutes walk away.

Stayed here for two nights when visiting a friend. A very clean pleasant hotel situated in a quiet street close to the seafront and a 10minute walk to the rail station and town. I occupied a single room with a very comfortable bed and ensuite shower room on the second floor. There was a lift. However There was no phone link to Reception. in the event of an emergency. Breakfast was very good whether continental or full English. Staff were very pleasant.

We went for a budget room this time so nothing fantastic about it,but it was very clean and value for money.lovely cooked breakfast and the service was very good.if you own a car it has good parking which is a bonus as parking in Eastbourne is very difficult.the hotel is very close to the seafront.beachy head is just up the road if you like going for walks.the beach is pebble no sand.there are plenty of places to sit and have a drink and lots of benches to sit on and people watch.loads of shops and places to eat out in the town centre.would highly recomend

Stayed at the Sheldon for 4 nights and have to say it was excellent. Staff were friendly and the owners chatty and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and had a good nights sleep on all 4 nights. Breakfast was fab and highly recommend the omelettes. The Sheldon's location was fantastic only a 2 minute walk to the front and 5 to the pier. And the sightseeing tour was fab and the cliff top walk breathtaking. I would highly recommend the Sheldon and would definitely booked again if staying in Eastbourne. 😄👍🏻

Stayed in this b&b for a trip with my mum. Building was nice looking and there is a car park at the rear of the property with plenty of spaces. Entrance to the car park is a bit tight! Inside was attractive, and there are 2 living rooms with sofas and an area with kids toys etc. The room was good, but for some reason smelt extremely strongly of cloves...which is not particularly pleasant. Perhaps a change in air freshener/cleaning products might be in order?? Our room rate came with breakfast which was tasty but could have been a bit hotter. Wasn't too bothered about that though which is why we didn't feel the need to say anything whilst we were there. Property is near the sea front and pier etc. Only a couple minutes walk. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone. Be aware that you have to go up stairs to get to the front door so wouldn't be suitable for someone in a wheelchair etc. There is a lift once inside however.

We booked last minute a 4 night stay and had a lovely relaxing holiday. Nice, spacious, lovely and quiet bedroom, good and large bed, nice bathroom. (we only are used on less daylight in the morning, (blackout curtain?)) Breakfast was fine - full English on request, very well cooked, cereals , yoghurt. (I myself would have loved also some extra pastries/bread(roll) than toast). Location is excellent, near the center but quiet and a bonus is the carpark. We loved the personal touch of Judith and thank her for the extra tourist info. We would love to come back together with our daughter.

We stayed at The Sheldon for two nights [two adults and three children] in one familyroom. A very nice and cozy hotel near the seaside and few minutes walking to the city centre. Clean and quiet rom and nice staff. Lost the fifth star because of no glutenfree alternatives for breakfast, even if the meny said so.

We have stayed at the Sheldon several times and this time was as usual very good in all ways. When we booked in we learnt that there was a small water problem with the room we were due to have so we had been upgraded to a much larger room. All was good including the breakfast. It was only a one night stay this time but would have no concern about longer if the future .

I was made most welcome when I arrived, because of my Asperger syndrome I needed a lot of reassurance & Judy the owner was a real star ⭐️ bless her!! One ☝️ in a million!! Nothing was too much trouble for her & she truly went the 2nd mile for me!! I found ALL the other staff fantastic & the breakfast 🍳 was truly tasty 😋 😋😋😋😋👍👍👍👍👍!!!!! All in all, if you want to get away from it all & just chill out, this is the place to come & you won't be disappointed!! I have visited many B & B's but this is simply the best!! Last but not least Judy knew I needed a quiet room due to the Asperger syndrome & the fact that I needed a real break, a great 👍 host!! 😉😉😉

Always come to Eastbourne for the yearly WTA tennis tournament. This was my first year at The Sheldon and i wasn't disappointed. I had a single room on the ground floor which was big enough with quite a big bathroom. Everything was really clean and i had 4 good nights of sleep, followed every morning by a great breakfast with plenty of options. Full english, cereals, juices, yoghurts, just everything! Staff was very friendly and helpfull since i was allowed to leave my bag on the day arrived and the day i departed. Maybe 2 small things that could be improved in the future: The curtains are very light, which means you start to wake up at the first daylight, so maybe bring a sleepingmask. Other thing is that the wifi was not working very well. I could only use it a few times a day, but for me it wasn't a big problem. The location is perfect, close to everything. Seafront is a minute away, the shops about ten minutes and the tennis grounds are literally around the corner. I recommend this place to everyone and will try to come back next year.

Booked a weekend away last minute and the reviews on here helped me choose the Sheldon. The staff were friendly and the room was good value for money. Nice and clean, shower had plenty of pressure and water was nice and hot. Off street parking was a massive bonus as it's always hard to find parking in seaside towns.

Booked last minute...bringing car full of house contents that couldn't fit in van.Hotel very nice , clean ,and quiet. Can not complain about anything apart from bathroom very small and from a female point of view going to the toilet have to walk backwards. Only down side. Very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. . Breakfast cooked fresh to your request . Would stay here again

My family of 12 spent Easter weekend here, booked out 5 rooms between us and we all could not be more impressed at how clean, cosy and huge the rooms were. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and the breakfast each morning was delicious! There is also a large living room with children's toys and comfy sofa's and we spent one evening just chilling here, letting the kids play and eating ice cream! Location is perfect, literally minutes away from the beach and local restaurants. There's also a great adventure park with mini golf, less than 10 mins drive away. Would definitely stay here again :)
