There is something reassuring about a café that gets the basics absolutely right. At The Rosy Lee, that means legendary breakfasts, freshly ground coffee and a genuinely warm welcome. Under the care of local owners Dee and Kevin, this much-loved Eastbourne café has become a favourite for families, workers, visitors and regulars alike.

A proper café with local roots

Dee grew up in Eastbourne and Kevin in Barcombe and Ringmer. After meeting at catering college in Eastbourne, they married and later took over The Rosy Lee in June 2021. While keeping the well-known name, they have refreshed the café and widened its appeal, creating a welcoming space that attracts everyone from tradespeople and retirees to families enjoying breakfast together.

That family spirit runs through everything they do. With daughters and seven granddaughters between them, Dee and Kevin understand the importance of creating an environment where people feel comfortable, valued and looked after. Many customers comment on the friendly service, personal welcome and relaxed atmosphere that keeps them returning time and again.

Breakfasts worth talking about

Breakfast is what The Rosy Lee is best known for, with many customers describing it as one of the best breakfasts in Eastbourne. Food is cooked fresh to order using quality ingredients, generous portions and plenty of attention to detail.

You can enjoy:

  • Full English breakfasts and lighter breakfast options
  • Homemade lunches and daily specials
  • Freshly baked cakes and snacks
  • Freshly ground coffee and speciality drinks
  • Vegetarian choices and flexible menu options

Whether it is thick-cut bacon, perfectly cooked eggs or simply great toast, customers regularly praise the little touches that turn a good breakfast into a memorable one.

Good food, fair prices and a warm welcome

The Rosy Lee continues to build its reputation on traditional values that never go out of style. Friendly faces, freshly prepared food, clean surroundings and excellent value for money have earned hundreds of positive reviews from loyal customers over the years.

Dee and Kevin are also continuing to improve the café, with plans to enhance the outdoor seating area and make the most of the warmer months while keeping the welcoming atmosphere people already love.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 2pm, Saturday 7am to 1pm and Sunday 8am to 1pm.
