Booked last minute for a weekend away - the welcome was lovely from the owner, and our room was spot on - clean comfy and warm. Big comfy bed! Bathroom a little small, but this didn't matter. Short walk to beach, front and restaurants. Car parking (free) a real bonus, so no worries about that. Breakfast was excellent, in lovely spotless dinig room. Would recommend, and will stay here again.

I can only write funny reviews about bad hotels and as this hotel is a good hotel this review will be informative but dull. We stayed four nights, the room was clean and nicely decorated, the bed was very comfortable with good quality pillows,very important, I have a thing about hotel pillows, ask my wife, as usually they are cheap and nasty things with a mission to suffocate you as you sleep, but not in the Sheldon. The owners were lovely and helpful as were all the staff and the breakfast was great, good quality grub cooked beautifully. Ten out of ten for breakfast. The three most important things for me in a hotel are, good beds, good pillows, (yes I know I have a pillow fixation, it may be something to do with my elder sister trying to smother me as a child ) and a good breakfast and the Sheldon ticked all those boxes. The hotel is a minutes walk from the seafront and it has parking. Would we stay there again, of course.

This is a lovely hotel, just up from the beach. The young owners are so helpful and friendly and will accommodate any request that is possible. The rooms were spotless and we stayed in a superior room downstairs, that was big, light and very comfortable with a large bathroom, bath and single shower. The breakfasts were excellent and the car park a bonus. Would definitely return.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The welcome by the owner was very warming. It's so close ( actually a minutes walk) to the beach and lots of restaurants. There are two things I take with me on leaving a hotel ..... How well did I sleep and how was the breakfast !!! Both were just spot on. There will be a return visit and also recommended to lots of other people. Thank you

We only stayed one night unfortunately but will certainly go back for a longer stay. The hotel was one of the cleanest we have stayed in. It is very central for everything in Eastbourne. The decor is very well done, the bed was extremely comfortable. The bonus of a car park is paramount in Eastbourne. The couple who run the hotel could not do enough for us and were very friendly. The breakfast was supberb. This hotel would be our first choice when returning to Eastbourne.

This hotel was an excellent place to stay, only walking distance to the town with a wide choice of shops from usual high street chains to some great little boutique type shops, and in the other direction the seafront and pier. Also close to a wide choice of good restaurants. Breakfast was really good served by friendly staff. I would highly recommend this hotel spotlessly clean and run by the owners.

I was a lone visitor, a bit apprehensive about travelling on my own. The hotel is very nice, comfortable, enjoyed my breakfast, great location. The hosts are very caring and attentive. I had had a bad week at work and needed to go away for the weekend. She made me feel as is she really cared. Thank you very much. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very very comfortable hotel!, and spotlessly clean, with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, Large flat screen TV and satellite channels. Bed was very large was superbly comfortable! Breakfast was lovely and the staff were all friendly, nothing seemed to be too much trouble! It was very good to be able to park at the hotel too (no additional costs to use car park) as parking in Eastbourne is notorious for parking meters and it's wardens! We were so impressed with hotel we have booked to go again, as we like the south coast and this hotel ticks all the boxes!

A collegue and I stayed here for a single night and were made to feel extremely welcome by the excellent hosts, despite our late arrival and groggy appearances in the morning. We only had single rooms which were small but not oppressive. The whole place is spotlessly clean and only a short walk away from the sea front or town centre. I'd definately stay here again. Keep up the good work!

I only stayed one night and was happy that the recent reviews on tripadvisor were accurate. This is a rare find, an excellent family run b&b that is very clean and modern. The room was spotlessly clean with toiletries and tea/ coffee making facilities readily available. The breakfast offered a wide range and an excellent quality of cooked to order food which was nice presented. Another bonus is the off street parking not available in many larger establishments in Eastbourne which gives piece of mind and saves hassle of feeding the parking meters each day. The biggest asset to this hotel are the husband and wife team who are obviously well suited and work well together to provide a friendly, homely atmosphere, if I need to come to Eastbourne again I won't hesitate to book.

Very deserving of the many positive reviews already written. Great family managed hotel were nothing is too much trouble. Good sized very clean rooms well presented. I usually manage to find a problem with the TV or other electrical mechanism but not here! A pleasure to stay at. As you might expect eastbourne is full of large 3 star grandiose hotels with an ageing facade but this, just a couple of minutes from the seafront, is a class above. Great value for money.

Enjoyed our stay very friendly and helpful, lovely big room felt totally relaxed. Even the cold weather didn't worry us we where warm and snug when indoors. Great breakfast and served with a smile to chef well done

This is a well presented, very clean and modern hotel where the owners are keen to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It's also very good value for money and the breakfast was excellent. We shall definitely return.

Very clean recently refitted hotel very friendly new owners, nothing is too much trouble. Comfortable room, we stayed in a superior double. comfortable bed good linen. only improvement would be more towel rails. We were leaving before breakfast on a Saturday, when the owners heard this they asked us what time we would like breakfast and got up and made it for us! Access to the car park is a little tight so be careful with big cars especially when leaving. Good location for walks along the front and town.

Great find in a super location 1 minute from the seafront, close to shopping centre and pier. Stayed in a family room which was very spacious with a sofa bed for the kids and large bathroom with separate bath and shower. Lovely breakfast. Good to have onsite parking. New owners really welcoming and friendly. Would recommend if you want a lovely place to stay which is close to everything and also was good value for money. Can't wait to return.

What a find, the new owners took over in December 2012; and boy they deliver quality, friendliness and great value. We had a family room, it was spacious beautifully presented, quiet with an enormous en-suite. After a hectic night out and a good sleep, breakfast was just what we needed. We were not disappointed, good local ingredients cooked to perfection. The Hotel had a re-fit in May 2012, they made an excellent job, the décor is clean and welcoming. They have a large drawing room, might suggest they fit a small bar; to encourage business guests who might wish a libation early evening? The hotel was full, always a good sign, if you know Eastbourne you will realise there would have been an awful lot of empty beds available, so the team at the Sheldon must be getting it right. We wish the new owners al the best, and if they carry on as they are now they wont need any luck.
