We arrived on the Sunday and everyone was very polite and friendly. The hotel seemed to be quite before the Christmas rush. We had a lovely room although it was at the back of the hotel. The hotel wasn’t full so thought they could have put us in to a room at the front as it was quite. The food was amazing, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Spent a bit of time in the spa which was clean. I can’t fault this hotel at all.

The accommodation was booked by a Friend for our Wedding Night, it was amazing and we definitely would recommend to anyone who wishes for somewhere special to stay after the Wedding celebration. Thank you Grand Hotel and Staff for a lovely experience.

Disappointment,as the evening was for a celebration with friends and we found the food was not to the standard of a 5 star hotel. This applies to the food for the dinner dance and the breakfast the next morning which was tepid and the selection was poor..

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted well. car parked for us. First class evening with excellent service and food in Mirabelle restaurant, then dancing to live resident band.in the lounge. Great room for over night stay

The hotel is grand and worthy of its 5* rating. The staff could not be more helpful and the food in the restaurants was great. Being 5* means there is a price tag to match but it was worth it for a special occasion. The food and service in the Mirabelle restaurant is fantastic. True silver service and a pianist made it all the more special. We weren't able to make use of the spa or fitness centre but it looked great though the pool was a little small.Afternoon tea looked good but we had a bit of came and coffee. The cake was a little disappointing and the coffee very small for the price.

Laughable water pressure on walk-in shower, unusable, plumbing of taps on bath poor as water sprayed onto wall and floor, French doors in living room let water into the room when it rained.Staff excellent, food and drinks great.

A birthday treat for my wife supper at the Grand. Excellent environment although I found the food very good but uninspiring. We tourd the hotel though and were very very pressed by the amenities and will definitely vreturn for a stay next year

As I said the main purpose of our visit was to go to the dinner dance with a live band and be able to dance. A lady, very unfortunately, fell on the dance floor and was injured so we missed the main hour of the band playing when we would have been dancing. Extremely sorry for such a freak accident to happen but sad it made us miss the main purpose of,our stay with you.

Went to one of their Xmas joint parties, priced at £59.95 this was a trip with friends. Had the salmon for staters which was ok, nothing special presentation was basic with a lot of lettuce!. Main course was served and was not hot, this was the same for the entire table. I had the turkey and there was not a huge amount & only one pig in blanket. Brussels were half cooked and there was not a huge amount for a meal.

Value for me I would struggle to agree with, the service was very good & staff were attentive.

Would I go again, maybe ?

Beautiful location and view of the sea. Excellent and polite and effectient staff. Disappointed with vegetarian food, tasting menu overpriced. We felt that Chefs do not understand that fish is not vegetarian

Stayed just one night in a standard room and had a great stay.
It lived up to its stars and reputation with great public spaces and service.
It's just a shame we were in Eastbourne with things to do and so did not have the time to fully experience the hotel and all its facilities.
We had rm 149- at the back- a very nice room with a great bed and comfortable space for two easy chairs, and all the facilities you need. The bathroom had a shower in the bath.
We thought we had no a/c as it was just a standard room, but when I enquired on checking out I was told no rooms had a/c. In Dec no a/c was not a serious issue but we had hesitated to have the window open during the night for some fresh air incase the road outside was busy/noisy in early morning. As it was it was we could have done so, as it was quiet.
A great breakfast, especially the cooked options, though the continental buffet did not live up to expectations- the only cheese being baby bon belles and only one cold meat
Just one issue - info. I found the hotel website particularly non-illuminating and the rooms too lacked general info about hotel facilities.
Would very happily return, though might avoid high season.

A fantastic three-night break, during which we hosted various 60th birthday celebrations for which family and friends joined us. Our room, the staff, the dining, and the check-in and check-out experiences were all as you would expect from a 5-start hotel - we loved it and will certainly return.

A delightful hotel and our stay was wonderful.

One small warning is that, if you want fried eggs for breakfast, then you need to order them at the table - the buffet has only scrambled eggs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A bit of old world charm ( we felt like we were in Downton Abbey!), underpinned by modern standards.Excellent customer service, great food and wonderful Christmas decorations. We would highly recommend this hotel for some self pampering on a quiet weekend away. We will definitely be back.

Everyone from the Reception staff, waiters etc provided first class customer service that made our stay very enjoyable. The staff took time to talk to you and made sure that everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

It is very rare today to find such a grandiose hotel which is able to produce not only outstanding service but also food of such high quality. The staff are obviously very well trained and always prepared to help you with all your needs.

Very rarely have I stayed in a hotel where all of the staff were as helpful and genuinely friendly. The building itself is in pristine condition - again, hotels of this nature are often a little run-down, but not here. It's a step back in time to a more genteel era, but without any of the snootiness that sometimes comes with similar hotels - there's some magic in this place!

We visited the Grand Hotel for a work event and I have to say that it was exceptional. The hotel itself is amazing and has really been looked after whilst the staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay pleasant. We liked it so much that we have booked to go back again next year.

We stayed in one of the older rooms and although still nice it had very old windows and because that evening it was very windy we had very little sleep. The room service burger was burned on one side too but this may be because of the xmas party going on which may have limited staff. Of the 6 times we have stayed this was the first time we experienced this...and were still charged full price.

Always a pleasure to be back to a warm welcome. The hotel needs the bustle of a fuller 'house'!The dinner arrangement with the first night in the Garden room and thereafter at the moving to the 'Mirabelle' was understandable but we didn't transfer.

I was looking for a special hotel to spend a few quality days with my daughter to recharge our batteries. We have had a particularly traumatic couple of years and needed to escape and be spoilt - The Grand was everything and more for us - Rested and energised, we were ready to return home.Thank you everyone for being wonderful

Celebration for my wife's birthday it certainly was special to stay at the Grand for 2 nights. The hotel dates back to the 19th century and has been sympathetically restored. You really get a sense of its heyday when an orchestra and society's elite were to be found here. The staff really are 5 star everyone greets you warmly and they understand service excellence. A cocktail in the bar then being escorted to the restaurant by maitre d Benjamin to enjoy a fine dinner was wonderful. A spacious comfortable room, excellent service and a sense of theatre about the place made for a most enjoyable stay.

What a beautiful Hotel, everyone was so friendly you felt like you were the only guests staying there. We just had bar food in the evening as we had already eaten elsewhere and in the morning we had a delicious breakfast . Our room was lovely very big the bed was so comfortable with lovely big fluffy pillows. My husband took advantage of the pool . The parking was good in fact the concierge parked our car for us. I think we stayed at the right time as the hotel had been decorated for Christmas it was so beautiful
