Excellent service from staff in all areas. Parking was tricky due to visit of car rally, but staff managed the car park efficiently, even bringing our car to the front door when it was torrential rain when we had checked out.

Fabulous Hotel located in the most ideal location on Eastbourne’ seafront
Room we was in was very tired looking and for a 5 star hotel lacked air conditioning or a fridge. The fan in the room was noisy
Breakfast though was superb

A fantastic hotel. The food , rooms and service is great. Some people may find it a bit more expensive than other hotels. Worth every penny. We love it. A step back in time to a great relaxed holiday.

Super hotel, efficient and friendly staff, lovely rooms, right opposite the sea so amazing views. WiFi and phone reception not as great as you’d like but passable. Can recommend afternoon tea and Mirabelle restaurant.

The Grand is perfect for those looking for a traditional, comfortable break on the English coast.

The service was exceptional. Staff were attentive and polite, with no detail left to chance. We were fully catered for in every department. It's one of the areas you'll never get through cheaper Air B'n'B alternatives, and is very central to the hotel experience. I'm happy to say that the staff at the Grand certainly seem to have recognised this.

A local guide informed us that the hotel was built in the 1870's. While the place shows its age occasionally (by way of a few creaky floorboards here and there), for the most part it lives up to it's name. Those looking for a traditional hotel experience won't be disappointed.

The food was top notch. Included with our booking was breakfast, which was freshly prepared and indulgent.

For those so inclined, the hotel is perfectly located as a base at the west-end of the Eastbourne front for walking trips along the coast to Beachy Head. The beach is a step away from the main entrance, and while there are a few local pubs and takeaways in the vicinity, we never really felt there was much to pull us away from the hotel for too long.

The only minor downer was the feel of the interior leisure facilities, which were a little low-key in comparison with the rest of the hotel. The changing facilities in particular felt in need of attention – a couple of lockers I tried to use were broken, and the steam room was quite dirty.

Overall, though, we had a holiday to remember at the Grand. I'd recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at the grand 21st Sept. 2019 On checking in, we were given an upgrade to our room so we had a wonderful spacious suite. Staff were polite, and courteous and nothing seemed to much trouble and were very knowledgeable when we asked for information about the hotel and its history. On arrival, they were extremely busy but the men who greeted us at the entrance were so helpful, immediately taking our luggage and parking the car. The evening meal that we had in the Garden room was delicious and well presented. Having the gym and swimming pool was an added bonus. We would definitely recommend the Grand and are looking forward to a return visit in the Spring.

Wanted to eat at Mirabelle as was recommended and we had an anniversary. The Grand lives up to its high reputation. Parking is an issue but I was lucky to get a spot without reserving and we would have been happy if breakfast was extended by half an hour. Staff are all very helpful and Mirabelle lived up to its reputation.

This was a superb afternoon tea: we were extremely well looked after, the tea itself was a gorgeous mix (robust yet delicately flavoured) and a delicious, plentiful and varied selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones. My niece’s nut allergy was well and respectfully catered for, with the added assurance of the entire table’s food being nut-free as well. I would highly recommend the The Grand as a superb venue for a first class afternoon tea experience, and very good value into the bargain.

As advertised, staying in the Grand Hotel really was a step back in time to the days of gracious living. Notably the staff were very cheerful and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. It's situation is perfect and the building is most impressive. Our room was perhaps a little tired and would benefit from some tlc but it didn't detract from our stay. I would highly recommend the hotel and hope to revisit soon.

I stayed here in September but have stayed numerous times before. There simply isn't anywhere as good as The Grand at Eastbourne. If you want old fashioned service of the highest standard then this is the place to come. They are truely excellent at what they do and are on a par with the top London hotels. Can't wait to return.

Myself and my husband were at the Grand on Wednesday for a spa day. It was lovely, nice spa area, nice massage and lovely afternoon tea.
They was good as husband needed gluten free so they made him a nice tea to accommodate him.
We treated ourselves and stayed over night.

We had a double deluxe room. The room was big, had all the nice extras like coffee machine and molten brown body washes. The bed was comfortable. They even come into the room early evening to move the pillows and water ready for bed.
Breakfast was nice.
It was a nice treat but expensive. Worth staying one night as a treat.

My partner and I wanted to treat ourselves to something a little special. We chose The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne and were so pleased that we did. The hotel is elegant, beautifully furnished with superb facilities and wonderfully competent and helpful staff. The Garden Restaurant was 'five-star' fine dining at its best, with a great menu and a superb wine list. The staff anticipated our every wish without intrusion or fuss. We highly recommend the Grand Hotel and look forward to our next trip to the beautiful town of Eastbourne and the opportunity to stay at the Grand once again.

We booked a two night stay for us and one night stay for family to enjoy meal in The Garden Restaurant .All wine was on table ready as was table decorations and later on a birthday cake (gluten free) was brought out .
Staff saw to our every need and were very helpful in sorting out gluten & dairy free food for one guest .
Rooms were large and had everything you need - our only mistake was we should of asked for a wet room or shower only for a 90 year old ( shower in bath ) but she was happy with her room .
Fabulous stay again highly recommend great location too .

Enjoyed our break. Room 128 is a huge suite and very nice, one criticism is the size of the bed in the room. We are not big people and we struggled with the narrow - barely double sized bed. A king would be far better in this room. The room was clean apart from the chrome and the door handles etc which would benefit a polish. Pool was divine in the hot weather and we enjoyed lunch and champagne on the terrace. The areas around the pool and steps into the spa are still in desperate need of a sweep and general tidy up. I hope this will be actioned by next years visit. Thank you very much for the anniversary card, it was most considerate. Lovely stay.

We stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe double room which was better than expected after reading some other reviews, very comfortable bed, large bathroom and plenty of tea, coffee etc. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. We had evening meal in the garden restaurant which we felt was lacking something special for the price paid. The inside pool area was tiny and in need of updating for a 5 star hotel, some seats in the steam room looked awful and we were told “oh that’s just a stain” not good enough sort it. The walk from the inside pool to outside needs to be made to look nicer it’s very drab, though outside pool lovely. Breakfast on all three mornings was very good, hot and tasty. Drinks in the bar work out quite expensive with 10% added on every time. The staff make the place somewhere we would return.

The Grand is our go to hotel when we want a luxury night away. From arrival to departure we are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the friendly and efficient staff. Beds and pillows are excellent. Breakfast is very good with a great variety of items and with either a buffet or cooked to order service.

The overall stay was wonderful. The value could be better and the WiFi could be drastically improved. The staff were wonderfully helpful and polite. The meals were tasty and they were very considerate of dietary restrictions.

Food not hot, beds not king size or comfy. You are made to feel it’s a problem if you ask for anything not exactly on the menu - do not expect that of a 5* hotel. Cannot get food orders right especially when busy

My husband and I have just spent saturday night at The Grand my first comment is I really dont know what planet the people who have given negative reviews on this hotel are living on they obviously visted a hotel in an alternative universe to us I have stayed in numerous luxury hotels around the world The Pennisula Bangkok and Shangri La Rasa Wing Penang and The Ritz in both London and Paris to name but a few and we are very fussy from the moment we arrived the servicewas impecable on arrival.there was a long queue for parking due to wedding the valet parker took our keys and we left the car in his capable hands the receptionist was very welcoming and professional.we immediately went for a pre booked afternoon tea in a very grand lounge it was wonderful our room was very attractive and comfortable room 311 we unfortunately only had a few hours before having to leave to attend a lecture by Dr Brian Cox at The Brighton Centre so were unable to have dinner on returning very late we ordered room service the menu was extensive the service very quick and our sandwiches with chips delicious after a great nights sledp we went down to a extensive delicious breakfast the hotel was very grand with wonderful furnishing in the bedrooms and public rooms so much nicer than the five star chain hotels we have stayed in around the globd I am already looking for the flimsiest excuse to be back at The Grand in Eastboune
