Took my elderly parents for a couple of days break. Hotel staff were very friendly welcoming and helpful. Food was excellent. Rooms were fine- very comfortable beds, although bathrooms a little small, and access to 4th floor via service lift was challenging with a wheelchair. Overall a very good stay.

Thoroughly recommend joining Club Elite for a years' worth of substantial discounts on fine dining, spa and gym membership and room deals, amongst many other benefits at this fine 5 star hotel. The buy one get one free buffet breakfasts are just pure luxury and great value..

The grand is an impressive looking hotel, the only 5 star sea front hotel in the area, although the service is excellent, the hotel is not perfect in all areas, so do not go expecting this. Some rooms and or decor is slightly dated.

We had a master suite with balcony (huge) and sea view. We were lucky enough to have the first floor balcony next to the presidential suite both of which are huge, although ours was a little bare with only one table and four mis
matched chairs, some weeds and cobwebs were also in situ. The balconies are st the front of he hotel which also has the car park but then on to the promenade and sea front.

The room was gorgeous, one of the largest I think we have ever had for the money so a real value and the view out to sea from both the four poster king size bed and separate living area was stunning, very clean no complaints here at all.

The service was excellent, everyone very friendly and helpful, the food we had was good, although I would have liked to have seen more local produce, something a bit special for the prestigious nature of the hotel, ( Kellogg’s single service muesli etc for breakfast) the bread didn’t seem anything special either (for toast) However, we did have some lovely bread and meats etc for afternoon snack.

A Good stay

I have just come back from yet another fabulous stay at The Grand. As a family we have been coming here for nearly 20 years. This is a very special , majestic hotel where the staff genuinely care about their guests and go out of their way to provide exceptional service. Our stay was wonderful, we enjoyed room service which was reasonably priced and had some fantastic cocktails in the Bar. The Lemon Drop Martini is my new favourite! Our room was beautifully appointed and recently refurbished, we were both very comfortable . I must also comment on how welcoming the hotel was towards my dog Ollie a black labrador. He also enjoyed room service and received a lovely goody bag full of “Arden Grange” goodies. Such a nice thought. Hotel is very convenient for dog walks being opposite some lovely lawns and of course the beach. The outdoor pool was lovely as always and all the staff in the Health Club were helpful and welcoming. Thank you to all for making our stay so special . Cannot wait to come back .

The service at this hotel was wonderful everyone always happy and greeted you with a hello and a smile. We had 2 rooms a deluxe and executive both of which were lovely and no problems at all and the turn down service was a nice touch. The children enjoyed the pool on 2 days it was so warm they didn’t want to get out.The only disappointment was the evening meal for the children this may have been because there were not many staying at the time we were there but the breakfasts were good with lots of choice. We would definitely stay again but on B and B only the staff really make your stay feel special.

The Grand is an institution and I was still impressed with its elegance and the friendliness of the welcome. However, rooms are dated as are the public areas, and the windows flaking and peeling. The spa looks like a dark throwback to the 1980s, and in an allegedly 5* hotel I was surprised there was no air conditioning in our (very hot) top floor rooms. And it is unacceptable for blackout curtains to be broken (and remain unrepaired for three days) so from sunrise every day the room was bathed in light; and for the room to be sold with a water-damaged and possibly dangerous bathroom and light fitting. This despite 4x visits to Reception and 2x emails. Friendly, yes, but no follow-up or follow-through.

It's a real shame as in so many other ways this place is a welcome return to the slightly old-fashioned elegance and values of yore and its rooms are spacious, beds old but comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms very clean. It just needs some investment.

Helpful kind staff. Good facilities although room very hot in heatwave. No aircon! Loved the spa facilities and fabulous breakfasts. Kids adored the hot chocolate which comes with cookies, marshmallows etc. Great cocktails too.

This is our third visit and this time we stayed in a master suite, which was very nice, albeit very (too?) expensive. However, the Garden restaurant now has a very unexciting menu with prices massively increased from two years ago. You could eat similar quality food in a Café Rouge or other chain restaurant for about 150% less and the portions are quite small, in my opinion. Likewise, we had tea in the lounge with some family members and two medium-sized pots of tea plus THREE cakes cost £26! Parts of the hotel are looking quite tired and careworn and major refurbishment is well overdue, I think. There was a window in the corridor leading to our suite with a piece of wood hanging off and a huge gap in the glass. Not what you expect from a supposed five-star hotel, is it? I doubt that we'll stay here again as the over £1800 cost of a three-night stay certainly did not represent good value for money. Very disappointing as we enormously enjoyed our first stay three years ago. Great shame.

The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.
We had a very pleasant time at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.
Our room was lovely and i like all the finishing touches like the bedroom slippers, lovely selection of teas, coffees and biscuits.
Nice touch of luxury toiletries.
The bed was nice and comfortable.
The hotel was lovely and very clean.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The Outside pool area need a revamp. It look so undesirable considering your staying at a 5 star hotel that's the only downside.
I quite like that the hotel is old fashioned and very traditional.
I will definitely recommend it to all my friends and family.

Had a wonderful double aspect room at the highest corner of the hotel, what better place to see the airshow from. Lovely big grand old hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit.
We'll come back again for a quiet relaxing weekend and explore the hotel and it's restaurants some more. Easy to imagine this hotel in it's Victorian heyday, and pretend you're part of it.

if your looking for somewhere to relax this place is perfect if you can afford it ! our only moan was the room was dated for a 5 star hotel we stayed in a premium deluxe inland view. Everything else was perfect.

This is our 4th stay at The Grand and I can’t recommend it enough, the facilities are excellent and position of the Debussy suite is out of this world. We have rebooked for Christmas minus the children this time 😁 and I can’t wait for a little pamper time

A short break with my wife and father-in-law Roy who is 86 and increasingly frail. The staff were extremely helpful in providing a wheelchair for use in the hotel and providing details of local Mobility branch who provided and delivered a wheelchair for a nominal amount for use outside the hotel. Great service all round and great dining in both restaurants. The health club was the highlight for me and the Missus in particular the pre-breakfast swims in outside swimming pool. for use outside the hotel

Wonderful food, A relaxing atmosphere, Restful & comfortable room, the beds were super soft. Maid service tending to your room needs bringing extra bottled water for example as it was so warm. The Breakfast selection was vast & extremely tasty.

Found hotel to be as expected, in almost all respects. I would have liked to see the Day Lounge Menu extended beyond 6.00pm. This did not affect our visit, and I can understand the reasoning behind the practice.

My elderly mum and I had a lovely relaxing 5 nights at The Grand. The staff are all lovely and the ambiance was luxurious but peaceful. The hot tub, steam room and sauna was a pleasure. The food was heavenly and the cocktails were especially good.

From the moment we drove into the forecourt we were treated with great respect. All the staff were courteous and very helpful. The building and the position of the hotel are wonderful but I always feel the staff make this hotel different. We went on to stay at a hotel in Dorset - beautiful views but it was 'soul less' because of the attitude of the staff.

Our room was excellent. All staff very helpful and always greeted with a good morning etc. No shortage of activity or leisure time and more than adequate shopping. Just step outside and enjoy the sea air and views. The town is spotless, no litter, no youths running amok, peace and pleasure.

I must say the people working here are top drawer, real old school good manners and nothing seemed too much.

The hotel is beautiful in an old world type of way and was also very large and obviously grand, (its in the name)

Breakfast which was part of the price was also very good and a credit to the hotel.
