The Grand is in a delightful location and has excellent facilities. My daughter and myself experienced a relaxing mini break together. We made use of the gym and swimming pool in the health club, followed by leisurely cocktails and an excellent evening meal in the Garden Restaurant. All the staff were courteous and knowledgeable, and we never felt rushed or crowded. Our room (a junior suite) was immaculate and spacious.

We love the Grand and everything it stands for! We have been coming around 15 years to this property. The staff have become family and we have a very warm welcome every time we stay at the hotel. We have tried all hotels in the area and it’s the Grand every time.

Ok...veg perfectly cooked. Great roast potatoes but meat poor quality...it was frozen
We had lamb, wouldn't recommend
Its mass catering
Wouldn't go back
Good service but old fashioned and very small choice on set menu

We were travelling light and fast through the area and booked a night at this fabulous hotel without knowing anything about it. Because we didn't have extra clothes with us, we were not suitably dressed for entrance to the dining room, so ordered our tea as room service. It was excellent, although as I'm a non-drinker, the bottle of Coca Cola looked out of place on the trays. Our room was very spacious, clean as and with a great bed and bath etc and just a brilliant view to yester-year luxury. Very Downton Abbey feel. After a great night's sleep, we discovered that we were indeed adequately dressed for breakfast and enjoyed a fabulous dining room with staff all dolled up to the nines. That said, everyone we dealt with there was thoroughly professionally friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Much appreciated for a couple of old Kiwis. It is expensive, of course, but if you are passing through Eastbourne, we thoroughly recommend The Grand for a stay. Tres posh. Men, remember to take a jacket and good shoes, as they don't like sneakers in the dining hall.

We came to the Grand for a well deserved respite. My husband has been very ill in hospital for 14 weeks and this short respite in one of our favourite venues was a promised treat for when he felt better.

My sister and I enjoyed a great weekend at this hotel, excellent all round, a real treat. Room big and airy, good sea view, great coffee and great breakfast. Also had a spa treatment, highly recommended.

Always high standard from professional staff, always a pleasure to visit the hotel, very relaxing environment. Possibly due to the hard work by the staff. Always leave fully refreshed. Great. M. Smith.

My wife and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary - we stayed at the Grand on the first day of our honeymoon. We found the service excellent with some nice touches. For example we had a card wishing us a good stay on our 50th wedding anniversary. There was no need for this and it made us feel particularly welcome.

I have stayed a number of times at The Grand Hotel Eastbourne and every time is a distinct pleasure. The staff are fantastic and the food, bar and location equally enjoyable.

A trip to The Grand Hotel Eastbourne suspends time!

Staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble - felt very spoiled, cannot fault the service we received. Had dinner in both restaurants during our stay and the food was fabulous - good choice at breakfast as well. The communal lounge areas were lovely and comfortable. We had a deluxe double room - it was disappointingly small for a 5 star hotel and had a very uninteresting inland view. Not enough sockets in the room to cater for the modern life of mobiles, tablets and hair straighteners! However the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Yes, the decor is a bit tired in some areas but it is an old hotel and some would say it is part of the charm. Not much parking available at the hotel or along the seafront so we did pay the £25 a day for a reserved parking space which does add a lot to your overall bill - maybe could reduce the price for winter months? We had a lovely weekend though and will definitely be going back.

This was our second weekend break at the Grand Hotel and we will definitely be returning. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, the whole hotel is decorated and maintained to a very high standard and the food is high quality and beautifully presented. You are made to feel special but the service is not over the top. Families and couples, old and young, were equally made welcome and the location is perfect for walks along the seafront and up onto Beachy Head.

Actually booked A Romantic Break over the phone, the reception read back to me what I had booked and I was reading it on my screen at the time. When we arrived there was no champagne/chocolates etc and I called reception. They had us down for a wellness break and wouldn't change our reservation without us paying £50 extra despite our initial bill being £310. The room we was in looked tired, nothing like the photos on line.

Our evening meal was also disappointing, my wife chose a goats cheese and beetroot risotto and a side salad of rocket and parmesan. The Risotto contained no goats cheese and the salad had no parmesan. The waiter was uninterested when my wife raised this.

Breakfast was good and so were the spa treatments. For the amount of money we spent (more than £500 for one night) we felt very short changed and would never recommend to anyone else

Wow - We loved it here, from the warm welcome of the Concierge and Reception to the Cocktail Bar (huge selection of cocktails) and Breakfast service, every single staff member we interacted with were superb and in my opinion this is what makes The Grand Hotel stand out.
The hotel itself is very traditional with beautiful chandeliers and bedrooms were huge with everything you could require during your stay.
We dined offsite on the Saturday evening and came down to reception to find our taxi waiting with the door open, while a member of the concierge held an umbrella over us at the entrance , what super star service.
I opted for the vegetarian breakfast featuring their own homemade vegetarian sausage and it was absolutely gorgeous. There was plenty of everything for everyone.
My husband received a hand written birthday card as well which was a lovely personal touch.
Amazing experience and would certainly stay again.

Beautiful building and lovely friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was very high quality and the poached eggs were perfect. We played snooker downstairs which was a lot of fun and even had drinks served to us in the snooker lounge. Lovely thank you.

Booked a double Executive room on 2nd floor. Greeted by professional concierge and bags taken from car. Very warm welcome by all staff. This is one of the endearing attractions of this place, genuine "old school service", nothing is too much trouble. Room was fine, clean and extremely comfortable bed. Dined at the Mirabelle restaurant and wasn't disappointed. Scallops were delicious with a chilled glass of Louis Roederer and my wife said the Lobster bisque was superb. Both had the three way lamb for main (yum) and although we didn't have a dessert, the coffee is wonderful (and I am a bit of a coffee lover). I had a game of snooker in their snooker room which has 2 full size tables, and glass of Remy. Breakfast was relaxed, with a wonderful selection of traditional breakfast food and pastries and fruit . Love the Grand. Maybe a bit pricey for some but you'll never be disappointed. You know what they say, "you get what you pay for".

Stayed for two days. The room was great although there was some construction going on down the hall and there were stairs to navigate with luggage. They would have assisted us with our luggage, but we chose to do it ourselves. The breakfast was excellent. The only problem was with the Wi-Fi, which was weak to non-existent and when connected was extremely slow. We did bring this to the front desk’s attention. Location was convenient with many restaurants in walking distance.

Wonderful stay. The moment I arrived I was met with warmth and smiles. At no point did I experience any staff who were not open and welcoming. I felt special throughout my stay. Thank you for your wonderful team, your values and traditional approach to your guests.

Was here on business for one night only.

I was greeted by concierge who took my cases from the car and parked it for me.

My room was OK. A bit cold for my liking. I didn’t get a sea view which was disappointing.

Restaurant was very expensive and the food although good was not worthy of its price.

Stand out was The concierge which was really exceptional.

We arrived on bikes in the rain, and were greeted b our names which was very welcoming. Super comfortable bed, and room more than adequate.Only criticism is that safe was high and very awkward for folk of my height (165cm)

My trip was a long weekend Friday 8th till - Monday 11th Nov 19. 1st time at Albany. Old fashioned and in need of referbishment but nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Food was basic and served nice and hot. Overall, a nice budget hotel and perfect for 3 nights. If you're a bar drinker and like your alcohol I thought a bit pricy. But am not a drinker as such. A nice 2* establishment.

We enjoyed a family birthday celebration at the hotel for nine guests. We felt valued and well looked after throughout our stay. The evening meal was a great experience. Fine food served with old fashioned (I mean that in a good way!) style and service.
I would heartily recommend the Grand Hotel and will be back again for couples stay prior to Christmas..

We booked this spa weekend through a third party and that may be why we were given a deluxe room that had worn out carpets and were more of a trip hazard than anything else. It was also rather strange to be given a room where the outside walls are being stripped down to plaster and all the other rooms around were being renovated. It would have seemed more sensible to put us somewhere in the hotel that wasn’t having building works particularly as the hotel was very quiet on the day we arrived. The view from the bedroom of the steam pipes from the laundry wasn’t a good look, particularly as the curtains wouldn’t close properly on one of the windows.

On the positive side the breakfast in the hotel and the evening meals in the Mirabelle restaurant were excellent. The Mirabelle is not cheap but as a treat its well worth the money. The spa treatments were also the best we have come across the staff did a wonderful job and they and the Mirabelle will encourage us to come back even if just for the day.
