We like to visit the Grand a couple of times a year. Expensive yes but always an air of quality about the hotel and the service received. On the 28th. we were in room 410, way up in the north west corner on the top floor. That was an adventure, up a tiny stair case it felt like a forgotten part of the hotel. Of course the room was of the same high standard as the others. Excellent lunch in the Mirabelle, thanks Ben.
Just one small downside this time, we noticed one extra drink had been added to our £100. bar bill, annoying but not intentional I'm sure.

Lovely relaxing stay between xmas and nye, although the hotel was busy everyone looked after us to perfection. Eye contact and a greeting by everyone each time you came in to contact. Staffing levels were as such that you waited for nothing. Lovely crisp clean room with a back view over the south downs. Each dinner and breakfast was full of flavour and well presented . The concierge team work tirelessly and always with a smile and greeting. Benjamin Wareen in the fine dinning room is charming and efficient.

Stayed at The Grand Hotel to join in the Christmas House Party. We stayed a night before the party and a night afterwards. The hotel is very impressive and the location with easy access to Eastbourne's attractions is excellent. Our suite was spacious with lounge, bedroom with 2 double beds and bathroom. Considering the age profile of some of our fellow guests I wonder why the shower requires one to step over the edge of the bath to actually stand in the bath. Staff we met from housekeeping, room service, front office and concierge were very friendly and welcoming. Considering that this is a 5* hotel and charges accordingly the provision of amenities is a bit mean spirited. We were given 2 tea bags during each room service. Even when shower gel and shampoo were very low they were not replaced until the bottle was empty. Our last morning we had to shower with less than a centimetre of shower gel between us. Requests can be made for more items but at this level such a request should not be needed. During our 6 night stay the hotel managers were not visible and didn't socialise with guests. In 5* star properties we have stayed in around the World the GM is visible at breakfast both for quality control and engaging with guests in the lobby. The GM did greet guests attending the Champagne Reception but other than a cursory handshake that was it. We took 6 dinners during our stay there was no evidence of senior managers, other than Food & Beverage managers, during any of the meals.

My wife and I decided to take a break and celebrate her birthday at the Grand. The suite we stayed in was very comfortable. We had dinner in the Mirabelle restaurant and chose the tasting menu plus wines. The food and service was first class , we had a wonderful evening. As returning guests we were made to feel very welcome throughout our entire satay. A fantastic break- Thank you all

What a pleasure it is to visit this excellent hotel on the South Coast

From the moment we arrived on 23rd until our departure on the 27th we had a truly great time. The Garden Restaurant has a new head chef and the food previously was very good but from our experience this time the Grand have got themselves an excellent chef (Harvey) and they have now reached another in the quality and presentation of the food.

The staff are amazing with great courtesy but friendly; so credit must go to the management team for choosing such people

We are about to return to the Grand for New Year and looking forward to it

Went to the Grand Hotel Eastbourne with my 95 year old mother in law, who is in a wheelchair, my cousin and a friend. The hotel was looking very festive and the rooms were excellent. Mother in law needed accessibility in the bathroom, and a safety surround was provided for the toilet when asked for. The tiled floor was slippery though, so I had to anchor this by putting the rubber shower mat under the front feet. Somewhat surprised by the buffet breakfast set up in a five star hotel, perhaps understandable at a weekend, but given the number of staff who stood around, I assume the A team were not working the breakfast shift. One young server said they were not allowed to take orders! The Garden restaurant evening service was faultless and the food excellent. The Mirabelle however was a great disappointment. We waited ONE hour for service once ordered, and the food was lukewarm at best. I did not understand why we were the only table where food was served uncovered. Reception said it was French cuisine - not of the standard I have enjoyed in France, I have to say! I did complain, as did my cousin. Not good value for money, and local opinion seems to agree. I was also served cold stewed tea in the lounge in the afternoon, which also raised a complaint. A pity that an otherwise excellent establishment was let down by basic issues which I have not experienced in budget chains.

A lovely relaxing break in this lovely seafront hotel. Good old fashioned service. We have stayed here several times. It’s a favourite of ours. Every time has been a joy. The rooms are very comfortable. We lunch in the Mirabelle. A beautiful experience. The evening we spend in the Chatsworth lounge. Friday and Saturday evenings there is a small band with dancing.

As a family we had a lovely time at the Grand over the Christmas period. The indoor pool and gym were great as it was raining some days. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were first class. Everything was clean and to a high standard. The bedrooms are nice a big. The old fashioned Christmas atmosphere with the decorations and music was magical.

Welcoming, courteous and a wish to please from all the staff coupled with extensive choice from the menus gives this hotel true style. Its location is a significant added bonus. I am very willing to recommend it

Luxury in the traditional way. The grand hotel is both a credit to its management and the beautiful town of Eastbourne around it. It is actually unique to the south of England and long may it continue

Friendly and enthusiastic staff. Service was impeccable.
General public room decor was tidy but the common area carpets were tired and frayed.
The Mirabelle restaurant experience was fine but the food was disappointing.

Superb hotel offering top class traditional service and accommodation. Room was spacious and everything designed to maximise guests' comfort and convenience. Staff could not have been more helpful. I entered the hotel with great expectations. I was not disappointed. Highly recommended for a relaxing, blissful break.

We only had dinner here on Monday 16th our wedding anniversary, we were staying at a nearby hotel. The hotel was first clas the service by the bar lady was the best I have ever seen, I am now retired but used to travel in the UK and stayed in many good hotels, This appeared to be the best I have seen, obviously can't comment on the rooms. The dinner in the Garden Resturant was again first class the food remarkable. It was even better as our friend picked up the bill. We will come again and stay. Well done The Grand every one of your staff were professional and caring.

We stayed for a friends birthday meal in the balcony above the great hall. The two Christmas trees always beautiful. The food was better than last year, really excellent and the service second to none.
Our room on the third floor is a favourite of ours, lovely view and large bathroom.

A lovely three day break in one of the Master Suites - so relaxing with plenty of time just to sit in the lounge or restaurant and chill! Yes, the prices can seem high but it’s worth paying them just for the special experience - and we always love returning!

Grand old hotel...if you like period properties this one is worth a stay if youre in the area. The room we stayed in was a deluxe but quite disappointing..a bit shabby and dressing table unusable. Bar drinks were made and presented perfectly and breakfast was surprisingly good..overall the hotel needs a lot spent on it but still very lovely and interesting

From arrival to departure there was nothing to fault for this "special" birthday treat. The hotel exudes old-world charm, spotlessly clean with helpful and pleasant staff. Food was terrific, both dinner and breakfast. For that extra-something, this is the place to go.

Enjoyed our annual Christmas stay at the grand. As usual staff were polite and courteous. Only downside was although we turned down the heating in our rooms the rooms were still very warm which affected ability to get a good night's sleep

Grand indeed! A lunch to celebrate a friends birthday in the Garden restaurant. So close to Christmas there was a choice of two menus which between the three of us we took advantage of. Impeccable service and delicious food in a beautiful room.

Had a lovely stay here for my partners birthday. Fantastic staff and food. My partner said her massage in the health club was very good. Great location near the beach and the town. Would have no hesitation in going back there.

We've stayed numerous times and each time it gets better! Some may think it is old-fashioned, but it is quintessentially English and the service is outstanding. It is 5* quality but without being 'snooty' - every member of staff will say 'hello' and have a friendly chat if you so wish - and I like that. They clearly have the best training and attitude and the customer comes first at all times. Dinner in the Mirabelle is also outstanding. We always treat ourselves to room service breakfast - it is so worth it!!
