Stayed for five days over Christmas and absolutely everything was outstanding. The standards of service provided by this hotel are without equal in the UK. The Garden Restaurant is better than ever, offering a superb dining experience. The Mirabelle is closing for refurbishment but hopefully will not be ruined by being modernised (I was a little concerned that silver cloches have disappeared and the restaurant's signature plates have been replaced by some hideous crackle glazed modern ones).

The food was average and on one occasion inedible (feta croquettes). The service in the restaurant needs to be more efficient as at times we waited up to 20 minutes for our wine and the waiters were slow clearing our plates.

We enjoyed a fabulous two night break between Christmas & New Year, it wasn't our first time so it was great to be back. The service and friendly approachable staff are genuinely happy to help and nothing is to much trouble. Can't wait to go again, maybe for the Eastbourne Airshow.

We had an excellent time with first rate service and will recommend All the staff were helpful and charming which made our stay truly enjoyable. Food was excellent and fairly priced. We’re glad the decor of the Mirabelle is to be refurbished shortly.

Genuinely good in parts - service was excellent, apart from confusion in the car park (blaming us when it was the system, but charges reduced by reception resolved it). Food was fine in the Garden Room, excellent in Mirabelle. Bed was uncomfortable and ill-fitting windows casued a lot of sleep-wrecking noises through the night. The main rooms are glorious and beautifully festive.
A £5 teacake taking 20 minutes to appear was absurd, and that should have been complemented.
Sounds like niggles, and that's all they are, but 5 stars means a niggle-free, or instantly resolved situations.

Love coming here; the staff treat you so well you feel you are special! It may be more expensive than other hotels around but you get quality service, and such a Grand building isn't cheap to run or maintain! Just popped in on Sunday for afternoon tea and the experience was wonderful; we took our 6 year old granddaughter to introduce her to this experience! Have also stayed several times. Lovely.

I have been coming here off and on again for the past 22 years. Last night was the first time I have had dinner here being in the past only having lunch, afternoon tea or staying. In the past they have been great wonderful service exactly what one would expect from a 5* hotel. This time was no exception. The food was delicious and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Their garden restaurant was sublime with a very relaxing atmosphere. There menus are set menus offering two different versions to pick from. One being £45 for 3 courses and the other being £65 for 3 courses. Both offering a wide selection of dishes and sorbet palette cleanser between. After dinner we sat for an hour or so in front of a massive fireplace with burning fire within, having coffee and more relaxation before having our jackets retrieved by the staff and departing. 5* always in every way. I hope this remains so after their refitting.

Had a wonderful day in the health club, facilities were lovely, clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Towels gowns and flip flops provided were soft and clean, gym had a great variety of equipment with towels, wipes and a water dispenser with plenty of cups available. Back massage was wonderful, the therapist was lovely and the whole treatment was so relaxing. We also had afternoon tea, we requested some alterations to the sandwiches before our visit and this request was noted and double checked on our arrival. Food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Overall a fantastic experience, I cannot praise the staff higly enough and will certainly recommend this hotel and hope to return to the health club for more relaxing days!

Amazing.... so luxurious. I felt like a queen. The outdoor pool is so warm and lovely to swim in. The breakfast was delicious. We stayed here for a wedding. The wedding was the spectacular. The hotel serves superb food. Drinks are very pricey though

Beautiful hotel with history and well refurbished yet keeping it's original features. Staff treat you like royalty. Awesome seafront location in sunny Eastbourne. Lounges, cocktail bar, restaurants, health spa with swimming pool and set in such a beautiful location it's impossible to run out of things to do and see. Especially like their Tea menu.

We have stayed many times over the last few years at the Grand, it Is like a home from home. The staff are excellant with the right balance of ptofessionalism and friendliness. We stayed in a junior suite this time which was superb although the bed was a bit small and too soft! The Garden restaurant Is good, excellent food served in a very pleasant setting. The day rooms are comfortable and once again staff are attentive. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and look forward to returning later in the year.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening having drinks in the bar with friends. Good selection of wines and local beers. Live band provided an excellent backdrop without being intrusive. The bar snacks were excellent and good value for money. Would recommend The Grand as an excellent place to meet friends and have a drink.

Great breakfast and communal areas are lovely and opulent. However the rooms themselves need updating as very old and worn. We felt like we'd traveled back in time. Overall an ok stay but we wouldn't stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and the service from the staff was impeccable, the dining hall is manificient and made for some great meals. The rooms feel a little dated but the staff were always there to top up anything you might require.

We have visited The Grand, numerous times over the years. Wonderful hotel and the service is excellent. Unfortunately I have noticed that the supplements on the restaurants menus are appearing more often and are increasing in value. Drinks have also increased, your house Campaign, I believe is now £20 per glass. With respect, I would like point out to the senior management of Elite Hotels that majority of your customers drive BMW`s and Mercedes not Bentley`s and Maserati`s.

Very special, elegant and full of wonder. Lovely historical building. We went for afternoon tea and is was very relaxing and we soaked up the atmosphere. The hotel staff were happy to show us th Debussy suite where Debussy supposedly worked on his musical composition 'La Mer'. The suite had magical views of the seafront.

We have stayed here several times and always been happy with the staff who are both professional and friendly. This time our room certainly wasn't 5* standard, it was small and very tired. The breakfast is excellent but the evening meal in the Garden Restaurant was also disappointing, not really being able to cope with dietary needs that had been advised beforehand. All in all not up to the standard we have previously experienced.

A regal, old-fashioned hotel but certainly old fashioned is intended as a compliment here. Good amenities (pools, gym, etc) and a beautiful dining room and restaurant to match the excellent cocktails in the bar opposite. We were very well catered for by the staff, including our canine companion, and had a very good stay here.
Ideally located within easy reach of a quieter section of the beach and the perfect starting point for a hike up Beachy Head. A stunning hotel in a beautiful location.

Won't be staying again. We had a 2 night weekend break for my birthday. The room was large however the bed must be the worst hotel bed I have ever slept in ( so soft, it was like a water bed). We had to plug the hair dryer in by the front door as no plugs near the dresser. Massive bathroom with the smallest bath ( strange with all the space). Breakfast was lovely and dinner very disappointing. We choose from the £58 a head menu (starter was OK not great) main again for was OK not great I had the lamb with an oblong shaped potatoe the food was luke warm. My partners meal was steak and chips he asked for rare it was medium rare ( we had already startered the dinner by the time they came to ask was everything OK) my partner pointed out about the bland chips they didn't taste of anything at all and it had 10 to 12 cherry tomatoes on the plate ( why so many who eats 10+ cherry tomatoes). They did offer to change his meal but we had already waited quite a while as the dinning room was packed and very busy ( Saturday night). So he would of been eating his dinner on his own it's just a tricky one as in hindsight we should of sent both dinners back. On check out they asked if everything was OK so we said it was disappointing she offered to get resturant manager but there's not a lot he can do after the fact. The staff are really professional and I enjoyed the pool, spa area.

Wonderful 5* hotel with incredibly caring staff, super food and an ambience bordering on the Old Colonial style, so probably not to everybody's taste. So if you like silver service and afternoon tea poured for you, then it's manna from heaven.

Went for afternoon tea here on a Monday afternoon for a special occasion. The staff made us feel very welcome and special, had a great time. The food was brilliant, an amazing experience all round. Would recommend to anyone.

This rating is for the Mirabelle restaurant rather than the hotel itself. The Mirabelle is the only restaurant my parEnts. My husband and myself all like. A very attractive room, tables well spaced out and good service make this a happy experience for us all. Also not noisy, very good for people whose hearing is not what it used to be!

Aptly named traditional seaside hotel. Tends to cater to a more mature demographic. Luxurious with great spa facilities in basement. Comfortable well appointed rooms. Live dance band plays next to bar at weekends - there is a small dance floor. Separate ballroom for events has stage but disappointingly small dance floor. Service standards variable - from attentive to lacklustre.

I've never stayed here but I have been several times for lunch in the Garden Restaurant which was a good solid roast Sunday Lunch.
Additionally I have been for afternoon tea. Which was excelled too.
The Mirabelle restaurant is the icing on the cake though. I have left a separate review for the Mirabelle.
