I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay in Eastbourne. The staff, food and hotel are all fantastic. I couldn't comment on the leisure facilities as I didn't get chance to sample them, but the pool looked very inviting! You couldn't ask for more when staying away from home.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend stay at The Grand, and maximised our time in the hotel, making full use of the splendid suite. The staff were really helpful, and the Sunday morning breakfast was fabulous!

I stayed here with my wife and baby last weekend.

On arrival the staff were amazing to take all our luggage and park our car.

Check in was great, friendly and quick and also the staff upgraded our room !

Room was very nice and cosy, only downside was that no wifi signal came to our room :(

The hotel is generally nice with old decor. The main bar is quiet and comfy.

Spa is quite decent too and pool.

It is an expensive hotel but worth a stay.

Old style service, fabulously attentive staff, even someone to park your car. The rooms are grand and beautiful, a really romantic place.the food is good, but it’s more about the luxury and the whole experience.
Tea is amazing, taken by the roaring fire in winter, served on fine crockery.
Without doubt, the Bellini I had there made Harry’s Bar look amateur!!
I love this hotel, and recommend it highly, for lunch, dinner or high tea.

We drove in to find our pre-booked car space with our name, right next to the ramp where my partner who has Parkinson's could easily enter the hotel without hassle.
The friendly warm welcoming concierge and porters looked after us and took us to our ground floor suite. We were comfortable and well looked after. I needed to change my pillows from feathers to foam and that was done almost immediately and with such care and willingness.

Our meals in the Garden Restaurant were pleasant with very good food, beautifully served. The first night it took a bit too long . 45 minutes to get our starters and they were not full. But after that we had no complaints at all.

The treatments in the Spa were excellent. We both had massages which were not only relaxing and therapeutic but truly a delight to have. Absolutely charming
staff - friendly competent and caring.

A couple of comments - our bathroom with walk-in shower was very good but there was absolutely nowhere to put our own toiletries. No shelf at all. And a magnifying mirror would have been a welcome addition.

All the staff were friendly and extremely well-trained with one exception. The French breakfast waiter in charge of the hot buffet was quite churlish and abrupt and everything he did was noisy. Cupboard doors were slammed, hot plate lids crashed and even his stirring the hot food contents was loud. His attitude was most off-putting and he seemed to regard the guests as getting in his way, particularly if you dared to ask him a question. He was the exception as literally everyone else was helpful and courteous.

We look forward to returning several times as this is truly a Grand Hotel. Thank you to all who made our stay so pleasant.

This charming hotel provides a warm welcome, wonderful facilities, extremely comfortable rooms, delicious food and amazing staff who are friendly, courteous and so helpful. This quintessentially English hotel is relaxing and a wonderful place to stay in when visiting Eastbourne; in fact everyone should visit it for a truly amazing experience.

I met with 11 of my friends for an afternoon tea. I have a milk allergy and I informed them of this when booking. I was so happy that this was catered for so well.
I had my own tiered cake stand with freshly made sandwiches, cakes and scones. All dairy free . What was so nice was that it looked no different to my friends, which when you have an allergy you get used to standing out as different on these occasions. It meant so much to me to feel so included.

As ever, The Grand is a great place to stay as we like the sea front and the chance to get to the South Downs Way...
Shame the awful 50's/60's music was constantly blaring out from the fairground rides opposite, but I suppose it has to go somewhere. I like the place for peace, but sadly there wasnt much of that this weekend !

Everything was amazing. My sister and I took our 83 year old mother away and stayed in a Junior Suite. Facilities and staff were fantastic. We loved the dancing in the lounge on Friday and Saturday evenings and our meal in the Garden Restaurant was first rate. Can't wait to return.

I have travelled around the world this hotel is not a 5 star... the delux inland room was tiny and smells old!! Maybe its the dogs in the hotel i wish i read the small section on the website about dogs i would not have stayed here... first 5 star ive stayed in with dogs wondering around.
Staff are nice and pleasant which they should be when they charge you £385 for a 2 night stay. Late to check me in was given a voucher for 2 free drinks... we had a few drinks at cocktail bar when i gave the girl the voucher she took the 2 cheapest drinks off not the 2cocktails... superise superise!! No AC in the rooms the room had a blower which did not do anything no fridge to make the free water bottles cold to drink... the best thing is location..

Unexpectedly luxurious hotel that we have enjoyed very much. Stayed there with our two children, we had to upgrade the room on arrival but we were very happy with the deal we were offered. Nice facilities and the exterior swimming pool.

A delightful hotel. The staff were all very accommodating, you could tell they all actually went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. There was always a courteous greeting as you passed. The Mirabelle restaurant was excellent and everything it should be (unlike our experience at Luton Hoo The Wernher restaurant last year!)

We plan on returning with all the family probably next Spring.

Only sort of negative comment was our bedroom. While it was immaculate and not tiny had quite a small window and as it was a hot weekend it was stuffy and I slept very poorly both nights. There was a fan in the room so hotel was obviously aware of the problem but it wasn't enough to give me a good nights sleep Having said that, I didn't complain as it was just for two nights but I believe the hotel would have changed my room for the second night had I mentioned this to them.

thank you to all of the staff at the Grand for a great stay. from arriving and the team just sorting out our car because the car park was full, to receiving a birthday card for our daughter, babysitting services arranged via housekeeping, dinner, breakfast, wonderful massages and enjoying the sun by the pool we couldn't have asked for more.

Fantastic, pure luxury, very impressed with all the staff and facilities, only down side was service, although excellent could be a little slow at times and was disappointed that the garden restaurant ran out of lobster. Would definitely revisit

It was a sad occasion that brought us together at the Grand, but having the reception and rooms there, made the two days, fitting, comfortable and relaxed.

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, from parking the car to serving breakfast and taking our photo!

The band in the bar and the drinks there closed off a beautiful day. The outdoor pool under sunny blue skies made the next day special and my breakfast kippers and smoked black pudding were a total treat.

The 12 of us are hoping to return next year.

This hotel is very popular with the elderly. It’s downstairs lounges are nicely furnished in a style that appeals to its guests however the bedrooms are in desperate need of refurbishment. Our first room which was billed as partial sea view had a really old stained green carpet which ran right the way through to the bathroom, shabby wallpaper, and a leaky roof so when when had a shower there was a pool of water behind the tv. This was not a cheap room. To be fair they moved us when we complained to a room with a full sea view and a tiled bathroom. The decor was still tired looking but it was ok. The bedrooms are expertly photographed on the web site and look much better than they really are. We ate in the fine dinning restaurant which was pricey without delivering quality ingredients. My Dover sole fillets were so thin they were tasteless and they were over a mound of undercooked spinach a £12.50 supplement to table d’hote menu. Desert was two mini almond tarts where the pastry base smothered the taste of the filing so disappointing. The breakfast was good but it took ages for the food to arrive. As a plus point the staff were very welcoming.

Overall the standard of service courtesy and cleanliness was very good indeed. The only gripe is that at breakfast having ordered from the kitchen, we were waiting a very long time and the standard of the food ordered was not as good as it should have been. Otherwise our visit was most enjoyable and relaxing and we will certainly stay there again if we are visiting the area.. The service and food at the Mirabel restaurant on the first evening was exceptionally good.

Great weekend on a 2 nights for 1 offer run by the hotel to celebrate a birthday. helped by scorching weather a few weeks back. Top service particularly- 'their training just be very good' my wife thought.
Can't be faulted. Great outdoor pool. Very good food and wine (including a favourite, Musar)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand, Eastbourne and appreciated the very high standards. All the staff were professional, smartly dressed and offering assistance without being asked! The food was delicious; no wonder it was so busy! It was only a few guests who let the place down by wearing

Having been advised that the supply of champagne glasses and ice to my room would cost £5 when my party had a booking for 7 room nights and 7 for dinner in the Mirabelle I concluded that I would not return

We arrived in heavy rain - and there was an accompanied umbrella, immediately! A wonderful building, excellently staffed. The Mirabelle restaurant was superb in every way. Just a very happy and fulfilling short stay. This was a 'bargain leisure break' advertised in The Daily Telegraph, which will encourage us to try a few more, but we feel that our experience at the Grand will be a very hard act to follow.

We decided to treat ourselves for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. We wanted an accessible room for my disabled husband and his electric wheelchair. The only rooms with a walk in shower were Suites at £320-450 a night. Not in our price range! We wanted a Deluxe Double but the rooms were too small. Our only choice was an Executive Double at £260 with no accessible shower and an entrance so tight it took skill to reach the bedroom. With over 100 rooms why make it so difficult & expensive for a disabled guest to stay. It is an old building and renovation is underway commencing with the Suites but it wouldn't be too difficult to remove a few baths & add low level showers in the less expensive rooms.

Lunch here was like stepping back in time, the service was superb and all the staff went the extra mile. It really was as good as my recent visit to the Ritz, gentle , elegant and the food was excellant too !
I admired the doormans poppy pin and he insisted on gifting it to me ! The sun was shinning as we walked along the prom and we made a mental note to return for a short break in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The service and food was excellent. We could not fault the staff for attention who made our stay very relaxing. Our room was rather dingy but very comfortable, would go for an upgrade next time. A excellent short break, thank you.
