This is a very upmarket hotel with everything you would ever need. If you have any questions or problems they are very quick to attend. I did find that the evening meal was a little short on choice but the food was top class.

Group Dinner on Thursday 17th May 2018, the meal was very good but the service was very protracted with some tables finishing their main course before my table was served. One morning the water from hot tap was not hot enough to have a proper wet shave.

Just a great English Hotel.....simply the best.
The whole experience is luxury at its very best. And Eastbourne is a great, old fashioned English seaside town.

It is in front of the sea, the room is spacious, cosy with lots of tea selection, your own coffee maker, water, very nice toiletries. The hotel is elegant and fancy; the staff is very professional and nice. I slept very well - which has not been the case for a while in hotel, so I appreciated it. The lounge is very nice.

Very friendly, relaxed feel and nothing too much trouble.
beds and pillows out of this world!
Food rather pricey and not always good value for money for day-time eating.
Hot water a little temperamental/sensitive but you soon get used to it!
Wi-fi very arbitrary

7th time back in as many years. Love the place. Bit of an issue with the shower this time but didnt spoil. Am always made to feel welcome and the politeness and courteousness of staff is second to none.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived (pre entering the actual hotel) the main reception response was professional and prompt. Our room was a good size, very clean and well appointed. The furniture was a little dated, the bathroom also, the toiletries were a premium brand. I don’t believe the room had air conditioning which was not a problem when we stayed but would be on a very hot day I suspect. The building is magnificent, tall ceilings, wide corridors, spacious meeting areas and plenty of places to sit and ponder, and all very clean, unfortunately whist no furnishings were damaged they did show signs of ageing, and if one is being kind they could be described as ‘antique’ or you could say they were not befitting of a 2018 5 star hotel. Hot drinks (cappuccino) at £5.00 plus was ridiculously expensive, bottled beer (in the absence of draught) was also expensive, but the setting in the bar area made it still a fair price. Breakfast was excellent, a superb range and the staff were attentive, professional and frightening efficient. I liked the hotel and wanted to give a more positive review unfortunately it just lacked the ‘wow’ factor for us.

This hotel is spectacular. Everything about our stay was perfect. The location could not be better. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was a very welcome surprise. The room was large, clean, comfortable and we enjoyed the time we spent in it. The breakfast was scrumptious and though primarily served via buffet the food was always hot and very tasty. The lounges were beautiful and welcoming. The staff amazing. Service was exceptional. Especially appreciated the doorman offering to park my car when the only spot was narrow and I had been driving in heavy traffic all day. He could tell I was nervous about backing into the spot and immediately offered to park for me.

I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to be able to stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location nice and quiet and love the grandeur of it. It is our yearly treat. We will definitely request a fridge for the room next time. The staff are very attentive and friendly.

Could not fault the staff, Hotel is very Grand. Used the outside swimming pool and found all the other facilities good.

No hair dryer in the room, room a little bit on the small side but would 100% go back again.

Peaceful stay, 5 star quality staff, bedroom rather dated, and dusty in places, stains on the wall paper in the dining room should not be expected in a five star hotel. Spa treatments one of the best I have every had. Quality of food very good. We really enjoyed our stay unfortunately I have stayed in 4 star hotels with much higher standards in rooms, corridors and pool areas.

The Grand is a wonderfully impressive place. The building oozes classic Edwardian charm and is massive. The facilities are exceptional including the heated outdoor pool which is a must on a sunny day. The staff are very efficient and offer levels of service which are hard to find these days.

What a gem! I arrived at this beautiful hotel by taxi in the sunshine and was greeted warmly by a front of house staff member with a good sense of humour, who opened my door and took me through to reception. I checked in and was able to access my room even though I was early and another member of staff took my suitcase and directed me to my room. What a wonderful welcome! This service continued throughout my stay - all the staff were fantastic! They really know how to look after their guests and nothing was too much trouble. I honestly felt like a VIP! I enjoyed lunch, dinner and breakfast here in different rooms and the food was all wonderfully delicious. The hotel was comfortably busy, I was here on business but others were clearly enjoying the spa services, afternoon tea or just relaxing. My room itself was spacious and perfectly adequate for my needs. If I was going to be picky, the bed was too soft for my liking and there were some cracks in the wall but this didn't detract at all from my stay. The next day I used the outdoor pool which was lovely and warm, before going into breakfast. What better way to start the day! I loved my stay here - definitely 5-star staff and service and I totally recommend it. I would love to bring my family with me next time!

The only 5* hotel on the coast and it really doesn't disappoint, beautiful surroundings, wonderful staff and just pure class, from wonderful staff to beautiful rooms, comfy beds and elegance. Food is good.
While overall it is pricy it never fails to impress me with the comfort and luxury - I LOVE IT

I wasn't expecting it to be like a Soho House hotel but, based on the website photos, I was expecting something a little better. Don't get me wrong, The Grand is a very nice hotel. Staff are really friendly and very polite - just what you expect from a traditional English hotel. But our room had a tiny double bed with a cheap mattress (they moved us to a nicer room). Also, the bathrooms are pretty average with annoying "traditional" features like separate hot and cold taps, weak extractor fans and shower curtains that cling to you (why the rail doesn't curve outwards to keep it away from you, I have no idea). Overall, you get a very traditional, oldy-worldy experience but don't expect anything remotely like Soho House or anything like that.

Hotel staff were very good, helpful and friendly. There was some confusion in the cocktail bar in the evening (visited at 9.30pm) regarding a cocktail and then with 2 mint teas.

Door and reception staff could not be faulted as were the breakfast team and the quality of the breakfast.

Bedroom was clean, bed was really comfortable but the rooms are very dated. Ok if you like 1980's chintz.

I've just come back from a wonderful three-night stay at The Grand. My mum booked two rooms for us. She had a room with accessibility for wheelchairs - a big bathroom, wet room and a terrace. (These rooms seemed to be in demand by wheelchair customers.)

I had a very large room. When the WiFi didn't work, I was upgraded free of charge to a large suite with a sofa group and huge bed. There are wonderful tea and coffee making facilities, delicious biscuits, great Moulton Brown products in the bathroom, a turndown service in the evening and free copy of the Times delivered to the door every morning.

The restaurants and lounges are reasonably priced with good food.

Highly recommended!

Even the rain on Saturday did not spoil our two day visit. Our room was a joy to be in and the views were wonderful - the sea looked lovely and we could people watch. The Mirabelle Restaurant was delightful.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay in Eastbourne. The staff, food and hotel are all fantastic. I couldn't comment on the leisure facilities as I didn't get chance to sample them, but the pool looked very inviting! You couldn't ask for more when staying away from home.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend stay at The Grand, and maximised our time in the hotel, making full use of the splendid suite. The staff were really helpful, and the Sunday morning breakfast was fabulous!

I stayed here with my wife and baby last weekend.

On arrival the staff were amazing to take all our luggage and park our car.

Check in was great, friendly and quick and also the staff upgraded our room !

Room was very nice and cosy, only downside was that no wifi signal came to our room :(

The hotel is generally nice with old decor. The main bar is quiet and comfy.

Spa is quite decent too and pool.

It is an expensive hotel but worth a stay.

Old style service, fabulously attentive staff, even someone to park your car. The rooms are grand and beautiful, a really romantic place.the food is good, but it’s more about the luxury and the whole experience.
Tea is amazing, taken by the roaring fire in winter, served on fine crockery.
Without doubt, the Bellini I had there made Harry’s Bar look amateur!!
I love this hotel, and recommend it highly, for lunch, dinner or high tea.

We drove in to find our pre-booked car space with our name, right next to the ramp where my partner who has Parkinson's could easily enter the hotel without hassle.
The friendly warm welcoming concierge and porters looked after us and took us to our ground floor suite. We were comfortable and well looked after. I needed to change my pillows from feathers to foam and that was done almost immediately and with such care and willingness.

Our meals in the Garden Restaurant were pleasant with very good food, beautifully served. The first night it took a bit too long . 45 minutes to get our starters and they were not full. But after that we had no complaints at all.

The treatments in the Spa were excellent. We both had massages which were not only relaxing and therapeutic but truly a delight to have. Absolutely charming
staff - friendly competent and caring.

A couple of comments - our bathroom with walk-in shower was very good but there was absolutely nowhere to put our own toiletries. No shelf at all. And a magnifying mirror would have been a welcome addition.

All the staff were friendly and extremely well-trained with one exception. The French breakfast waiter in charge of the hot buffet was quite churlish and abrupt and everything he did was noisy. Cupboard doors were slammed, hot plate lids crashed and even his stirring the hot food contents was loud. His attitude was most off-putting and he seemed to regard the guests as getting in his way, particularly if you dared to ask him a question. He was the exception as literally everyone else was helpful and courteous.

We look forward to returning several times as this is truly a Grand Hotel. Thank you to all who made our stay so pleasant.
