This road Harbour Quay has a barrier on ans a security guard. We were stopped at the barrier and advised we had come the wrong way and the guard gave us directions to the right car park. He was polite, civil and pleasant and a credit to his employer. We turned around and followed his instructions to where we should have gone and got parked up properly, upon exiting the carpark heading into the harbour area he waved to us which we thought was really good.
He deserves a medal. Very impressed

Always plenty to see, boats of all sizes coming and going. It's close to beach ⛱️ as well. Plenty of places to eat with a wide choice available. Dogs appear to be welcome if well behaved.

Our go to in any weather. Great for a light lunch or more substantial meal. Options to sit inside or outside. You can walk around the harbour, to the sea doing a circular walk. Walking past the boats coming in and out of the harbour is interesting and the seals are often basking on the sandbanks or the occasional head pops up to say hello as they swim around.

Lovely marina and integrated shopping and dining opportunities. 24 access through the sea locks and a clearly buoyed approach. Directions to the sea walk pathway and other routes need to be better sign posted. Large hard stand for repairs etc but boat lifts are not cheap. Good choice of restaurants Quay side to explore at different prices and styles.
