We received very good service from the staff, they were very efficient. The starters were good. I had a pizza for main, which was also good. The portions were pretty generous so i shared the main and starter. The reason i haven't given a 4 star is the desserts were disappointing and very small for what they charged and poor value compared to the starters & main.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. I went here with a large group of people (we filled the restaurant as we were in Eastbourne for a conference) and then the next night with a smaller group of people. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. When I had to go and visit another restaurant to visit other delegates during the main course, when I came back the staff had a freshly prepared meal for me as they didn’t want my meal to go cold which was very thoughtful. Really good price for what you get. Will definitely be returning with the delegates from the conference when we come back to Eastbourne for our next conference.

Called in without booking, but no trouble finding us a table for 2. Excellent service, and very good food. A bit noisy, but due to lots of people eating there. Husband had lasagne, massive portion which he said was very good. I had mozzarella, tomato and avocado salad, with focaccia - which seemed more like a pizza base but was crispy and delicious. Very nice evening meal.

Just been for a Monday night pasta and beer at Pomodoro e Mozzarella. was just all right quite tasty hot and filling . The restaurant a bit cold and not much thought but in to it just rows of tables. All in all a nice night out but a bit expensive two pasta main dishes two desserts and two beers £38 miss out on the desert if we go back not worth £5,30

Fantastic food at great prices. For a family get together it is ideal. Great staff too. The three course set menu is incredible value. I would recommend the sea bass.

Arrived a little late, probably eight pm with three kids, 8, 4 and 2. Wasn't sure we'd get in as they were quite busy. Helpful staff seated us quickly, and offered suggestions as to what we might eat. The food... amazing. For me though, it was the great attentive staff that made this place so special.

I visit this restaurant regularly whenever in Eastbourne, a) because the food is delicious and b) because it is large and spacious, and easy to take big family groups there. The staff are excellent - very friendly and attentive.
The food is really excellent value for money - a two course meal from a set menu is only £10.50, which is fabulous considering that one of the options is fresh pan fried sea bass. The drinks are reasonably priced, too. This is unfussy, unpretentious authentic Italian cooking.

We called shortly after our arrival in Eastbourne & although it was busy they fitted the 6 of us in. The meals were all delicious. The atmosphere was vibrant & staff friendly & attentive. The wine was a bit pricey, but we're on holiday so we threw caution to the wind. A great night for all.

I reviewed this place once before in October 2012. Ate here again with another group of Beachy Head Marathon runners this weekend. My last review mentioned menu choices labelled vegetarian that featured never-veggie-friendly cheeses - happy to see that since then they seem to have addressed that point. For a multi-page menu there are still relatively few veggie options for an Italian restaurant though. The stark blue/yellow colour scheme has either faded or been painted over, and the décor is now quite pleasant. Service was pretty efficient considering we were a party of twenty which can't ever be easy. Consensus was that the food was really pretty good. My garlic mushrooms starter was very tasty if a little small, and I'd have quite liked some bread served with it. My veggie Penne main was really pretty good. Companions were particularly complimentary about the sardines and the calzone. Bill was very reasonable but we weren't drinking much alcohol before running in the morning. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

My family regularly eat at this restaurant, because the food and service are so good. Never have to wait long for food and have never had a bad meal, only problem is getting a table as its always so busy!

From making a phone reservation (strongly advised!) to paying the (very) reasonable bill, this restaurant always delivers. Excellent, well prepared, hot Italian food with a very extensive menu, I cannot rate this place highly enough.

Pomodoro is perfect for a party or group serving good food in an informal setting. There is a fixed 3 course menu for £12.50 featuring, for instance, prawn cocktail, pizza, fish main and profiteroles. Everything was great to eat and the owner came to check on our meal. At this price I shall certainly be back.

Veggie pizza and the calzone very good - both on the huge size.
Staff very polite and helpful. Not the most intimate or romantic place to eat, more like a diner really - maybe more suited to daytime, casual eating.
We would rate this as Good, but the option's not available!

I ate here with a small group of friends and we had a lovely evening. We had the two course menu, on which there was a good choice, costing £12.50. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food was delicious and we all enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and the service excellent. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Been here a few times as a couple and had 2 birthday meals with the family and friends here. Most recently I came here for my leaving meal with my family as I am travelling long term. Great restaurant with lovely staff and always manage to keep my family happy despite lots of different tastes and requirements. The week day offers are really great value and I would definitely continue to eat there.

Even though the menu is grueling with its choices, the food was quite impressive as well as the service. Mussels were excellent as well as the branzino. And the desserts were too.

This restaurant is quite big with plenty of tables. We managed to get in without a booking for six people. Would suggest booking up for weekend nights and holidays. The wait for meals did take a chunk of our time on this occasion.
Service is true Italian - a flourish, a bland face but very professional. Everything to accompany our meals like oils, pepper mills and the like was on queue and timely.
The food is simply Italian - hence the restaurant name. We all had something different from starters, pasta, meat dishes, pizza to yummy desserts and excellent coffee. Prices were good value for pizza and pasta and more for meat, fish or chicken choices.
It's was a restaurant filled with chatting patrons and very loud. Plan on several courses and allow plenty of time.
Enjoy your experience!

Away in Eastbourne for couple days as we do during the year ,Like pasta .This Restaurant is very nice ,Decor good tables spaced nicely.Good feeling.Very pleasant.Food very good to. 3 course meal £12.50 good value.Only negative was the waiters were nice but very much rushing us on each course.Seemed that they were only interested in how many bums on seats they could get in on one evening.October 14th Evening.

Would highly recommend this restaurant, the food is good and reasonably priced, the service is good and quick. Even though the restaurant is large and was extremely busy the waiters/waitresses were still checking that everything was ok and that you didn't need any more drinks etc. Highly recommended!

Visited with a group of friends. The set menu was very reasonably priced and we did either about the quality of the food, but the meal was excellent and well presented. Would definitely visit again.

We were a party of six, and we had a selection of dishes, and EVERYONE was happy with their order! Top class in quality, flavour, presentation, service, and they have great 2 course and 3 course offers. Wish I lived nearby...
