Stayed for 3 nights as part of a touring bowls tour .
There were 47 + of us in our party and we can be a little demanding at meal times but the service staff and chef rose to our challenges.
Nothing was too much for us to request.
We stayed in a room at the rear of the hotel , which was quiet and pleasantly decorated . All staff were very helpful and if you are not on a diet , do try the Grand Cream Teas - to die for !
Would highly recommend the Langham and look forward to staying here again .Well done all the staff at this lovely hotel .

My mother and I stayed a night. We had a room with sea views and ate in the Conservatory restaurant also with sea views.
Very comfy hotel. Easy parking outside ad virtually on the beach. Thoroughly recommend.

Stayed her for 4 nights with a bowls party of 35. The food and waitress service was absolutely superb. The location is excellent. The only draw back was the size of the rooms. The single and twin rooms are very small and at the back/side of the hotel. This however did not spoil our trip at all, as the food, cleanliness and service made up for it.

Its like a traditional old Victorian seaside hotel, but very well maintained and sympathetically modernised - so plenty of old Victorian charm but also upto date clean and modern rooms, facilities and surroundings. The rooms and restaurants could get a little warm - no air con but there are fans and the windows in the rooms open. Food was good, some decent beers and service was excellent. There was parking space arrangements but its a walk away so drop your bags off first. Location is great right opposite the beach and a 5-10 minute walk to the pier.

A fantastic room. a superb seaview and wonderfully comfortable bed. Unlike so many hotels, the windows open fully so we were able to control the temperature. The room was very quiet and staff respectful of our desire not to be disturbed too early in the morning.
The breakfast was excellent and the service second to none, we were served by a very attentive young lady for whom nothing was any bother.
The bar also provided very good service.

The only thing which could be improved upon is the provision of a room service menu and the serving of the bar menu until later: 9pm would be a more convenient time.

Very impressed with endeavours by staff to please; professional attitudes and attention to detail. I have no recommendation in recommending to others. Particularly pleased with personal service at breakfast.

Single room on east side of hotel but got view of the sea. Surprised that the bedding consisted of blankets and sheets not duvet etc. Net curtain fell off the window when I touched it so gave it to fellow who came to give me teabags as it needed a wash. Bathroom ok and could see an attempt had been made to renovate it but the shower curtain could do with being replaced and the flooring poss original 1950? You don't want to be bigger than a size 14 to use the toilet. The breakfast however was waiter service (no rushing for the cereal and juice etc here) and well presented. This is a hotel and as such reception, lounges, restaurant and bar were very pleasant with outside terraces overlooking the beach. Staff efficient and do the hotel credit just wish us solo travellers got a better deal as we do pay a premium.

We stayed one night mid-week at this hotel .
Reception staff most helpful and waiting staff at breakfast were so pleasant.
Comfortable bed with tea/coffee making and tv.
Only draw back was the lack of parking - you have to find a spot in the side roads which is almost impossible if you arrive late or been out late.

Just spent three nights at this great hotel. Our room was lovely with a sea facing view (we stayed in the Cuckmere Room) was a bit more expensive, but well worth it. We had a lovely afternoon tea, and dinner in the restaurant, all very nice.

My only small problem was the guy on the front desk, he wasn't very welcoming and one night we came in the main door and he didn't even look up, not very professional in my mind, but the rest of the staff were all very friendly.

Would definitely go back again.

Lovely hotel in good position on the sea front. We booked a room overlooking the sea for a long weekend to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary; it was worth the supplement.
The room (116) was a good size with a lovely bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was beautifully cooked to individual requests. We had dinner in the restaurant on one of our nights and again the food and service was lovely. We would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family and will return.

We had room 230 which is a superior room and I felt that at £195 for the room at B&B rate ....it was expensive. Perhaps we could have had a better deal by booking with the hotel directly? (We used booking.com.) the room was clean and the bed wonderfully comfy. There was no bath....only a shower. The long corridors to get to the room seemed to make the place lack personality. The staff we met were helpful and professional. Parking needs to be booked in advance and is £7.00 per day. There are only about 10 or 11 spaces on site. The breakfast was plentiful and promptly served. There is no usual buffet...the staff bring everything to you. I had expected my room to have a balcony but it had a large bay window instead. The windows opened wide and we could hear the sea wonderfully, but also the very busy sea front road! Lots of loud motorbikes. I think I'd probably book a smaller more personal hotel if I come to Eastbourne again.

Just extended our stay as such a nice room overlooking the sea. Avoid 103 - unfeasibly small WC facilities. Breakfast beautifully cooked and plentiful. Haddock or salmon - both good and it was a job to eat it all, but I managed !. Service excellent - and thoroughly recommend this hotel..

My husband booked us in for the Bank Holiday, we arrived and were able to check in straightaway.
Our room was incredibly clean, plenty space to hang and store clothes, I counted 9 drawers and a wardrobe.
We only had a shower in the en-suite but it was lovely and quality toiletries were supplied.
The towels were clean and fresh too.
The room was rather small and got very warm but at least the window opened fully to allow air in.
We ordered room service which arrived promptly and was wonderful and very reasonably priced.
We were able to find a space in the conservatory the next morning overlooking the sea, how pretty.
Breakfast took a while to be served but was really fresh and tasty, the staff were so very polite and helpful.
Upon check out we were offered water to take on our journey, a thoughtful offering.

Later on the next day, after check out, we went back for more snacks .. perfect :)

I would go back, I would recommend this hotel. We both had a wonderful stay here, thank you so much.

Stayed on a Friday night. Room nice, but basic, bathroom very nice. Reception staff were helpful, but forgot to order the taxi we asked for, delaying our start on Saturday. Restaurant, food ok, but atmosphere wasn't to our liking.

Room very good. Complimentary Sherry and Port and bottled water. Had previously contacted Hotel to ensure they could cater for Gluten Free diet and they said they could. Unfortunately NO Gluten Free sausage provided with cooked breakfast. So their way of being able to cater for me is by not supplying something?! I ended up buying my own sausages from a convenience store a 5 minute walk away and getting them cooked for me. A bit more effort required! I thought the cooked breakfast was a bit small anyway with only 1 sausage, 1 piece of bacon, half a tomato and the smallest portion of mushrooms and no offer of further toast being offered!

We had a very pleasant time. The room was reasonably sized, comfortable and recently refurbished. We were pleased to have the fan provided in the room. The staff were all courteous and helpful. The restaurant was excellent - both choice, food and service.

Our room was lovely the view was fantastic.the bathroom was luxurious in every way from the toiletries provided to the fluffiest towels .both myself and my husband wore the slippers provided every time when we were in our room.it was a treat to go to bed each evening with the sound of the waves ending yet another perfect day.the staff (without exception)were so attentive to our every need and honestly so genuine in their approach to us with conversation etc.the food was top class and we would recommend the langham hotel if you like the nice things in life and want to be looked after on your holidays.

I have not stayed at the hotel although I hope to another time.
I had a cream tea there last year and today went for fish & chips which was recommended to me by a local.
Food was fantastic, good fresh fish and a good price only £3.00 more than buying it take away from a chip shop ... Plus much nicer and presentation good too.
Great to eat outside on the front patio / terrace where the views are good as the hotel is on the end on a corner with a great outlook.
Nick served me in the bar and he was polite, professional and friendly and there's a pleasant welcoming atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for food and drink. I will go again. Polite and friendly staff really make a difference.

As soon as we arrived by car a porter was asking if we needed assistance, which was a great first impression. The reception staff were very welcoming with a relaxed and friendly approach. Our room on the first floor was impressive to enter - an immediate quality of decor was evident with luxurious drapes around a huge bay window and an unobstructed view of the beach and sea of Eastbourne with its elegant pier. The room furnishings all tie in with the drape colour scheme with wallpaper and some chairs, cushions etc in a William Morris style fabric too. A lot of investment and thought has been put into the room decor. The armchairs were very comfortable and high quality too - we sat in the bay window together with the sash windows wide open (a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of London). You can tell the hotel owner comes from a five star background as everything is executed with attention to detail. For example, the tables are laid correctly, the breakfast service is flawless in quality and the staff are polite and helpful without being unobtrusive. I am a great believer that a positive attitude of hotel staff always filters down from the management. An example of a detail in the room is that each side of the bed, at bedside level, has a separate plug (with USB facility) which is so important (these days) as not everyone wants to sit at a desk to browse the Internet etc or set the alarm on their phone. Many thanks for a nice stay.

I brought my Mom here for 2 nights by the sea. It was our second stay at the Langham.

We were really impressed with the staff and thank Neil and his whole team for caring so much about guests. Lucas deserves a special mention as he served us in the restaurant faultlessly and had a lovely, endearing manner with subtle humour. He made us smile.

Our sea view, from room 106, was to die for with a lovely bay window and floor to ceiling glass.

I used to choose the Cavendish but that has gone seriously downhill since it was taken over by Britannia Hotels so now I will always choose the Langham as great service is priceless.

Thanks guys and hopefully see you soon!

For the last two years I have been attending the twice monthly Langham Ladies Lunches (gentlemen also welcome) with friends. I am just permanently amazed at the brilliant value for money. A quality speaker, an excellent 3 course meal with red or white wine followed by tea/coffee and all preceded by a glass of Prosecco on arrival. I cannot see how these events could possibly be improved. Average attendance is around 120 people. I've always avoided what I call 'mass catering' in the past as I imagine the food to be inferior but the Langham continues to exceed my expectations and I am never disappointed. Have also tried their afternoon tea which was also superb and I want to send a personal 'thank you' to Lucas who served us with such grace and patience especially as one of my friends dithered between Earl Grey or Lady Grey tea so she was given a pot of both at no extra cost. My absolute favourite hotel.

The hotel is undergoing a refurb on 3rd floor. Our room, 310, hadn't been refurbished but that wasn't the problem. The twin bedded room was so small there was only a 6" gap between corner of one bed and the shower room wall corner. We constantly banged our knees trying to get past. Extremely small room for two people. The hotel porter couldn't get our suitcases into the room but had to leave them just inside the door. Not what you would expect from a 4* hotel.

Food excellent as were the staff. Nothing too much trouble for the waiters. The hotel is in a perfect situation facing the sea.

Shame on our coach tour company, Wilfreda Beehive, Doncaster, for their attitude towards our complaint. As no one had previously complained before, our grumble was dismissed.

Lovely hotel but avoid Room 310..

I love going to the ladies lunches, although men do come of course, yesterdays was exceptional. Tom Hart Dyke is an inspiration filled with joy and love well worth hearing him speak if you ever get the opportunity, especially at the Langham Hotel, which is always a joy to visit.

Thank you, super lunch.
