we only booked in for two nights and must admit the room at first glance was not what i would call good value for the money we paid. shower only held up by one screw, and kept being attacked by curtain when attempting to shower as not enough space.decor in need of re doing also.however the breakfast in the nice restaurant very good, also the staff friendly and efficient.reception staff were very pleasant and welcoming, and also helpful.forgot to mention room had lovely seaview which was very nice. last but not least the beds were comfortable and more important the pillows were also comfy.we had a very pleasant stay.

I stayed on business mid week, in a refurbished single room with a sea view. £25 including a lovely breakfast in the "conservatory" restaurant. The hotel is a typical, rambling Victorian building with staircases and doors aplenty. I got lost twice trying to find my way out ! The communal areas are a little dated and the hotel was full of golden oldies on a coach tour when I stayed. The reception staff are polite and efficient. The room was small but clean, albeit the bed was ancient and a bit squueky. A five minute walk to the town centre along the prom overlooking the pier was nice. For £25, including a freshly cooked breakfast, you really can't complain.

We stayed there for 2 nights and found it very comfy, the bedroom was dated but was cosy. I find it strange that in 2007 you could only get 4 tv chanels. The staff were friendly and polite.
The breakfast was the smallest I've ever seen but very tasty.
We paid £50 for 2 including the breakfast, so not bad value.

I recently worked as an independant hotel tester in London for 10 years so I know my stuff. Let me say from the start that as this is a 3 star hotel I'm reviwing it compared to other 3 star hotels. I'm now planning a Bowling group tour of about 50 people to Eastbourne and I am testing a few hotels. We stayed one night half board at the Langham. The present owners have had the place for 2 years now and boy they really know their business. They are bringing the best of London style to Eastbourne. They have redesigned and refurbished the Restaurant, Bar and lobby areas which are now bright and contemporary with a good standard of decor and furnishings. Most bedrooms have also been totally revampted. There are still a few bedrooms and some furnishings left to do and the place will be completely finished. Our room was good with a sea view although like all seafront hotels some rooms are at the back. The Hotel has a cool colour theme reflected in it's consevatory, sun parasols and staff uniforms.
Staff are dedicated and friendly. A very important part of a good hotel is the Chef and kitchen team and again the Langham past the test. The menu was good, dishes created well and upgrade prices to an exciting la carte very reasonable. Dinner and breakfast were enjoyable experiences. In my job I don't say that very often.

The room was nice, with a bay window and seafront view. Clean and tidy with nice decor and a new bathroom. TV and coffee-making facilities were there. What spoiled it for us is the noise in the morning. The ceiling was so thin that we could hear every sound coming from the floor above us. Also, we were given a room just next to the corridor door, so every time someone passed by we would hear that. Not for people who want to enjoy a lie-in! Furthermore, breakfast was rather poor. Croissants and pastries were not the freshest...
