My husband and I went to Eastbourne for our anniversary a couple of weeks ago. When we first arrived our reception was a bit cool. There were two young people at reception which I'm sad to say did not have much customer service skills. I had to prompt the girl on the reception to ask where the restaurant was for breakfast and the issue we had with the hotel's car parking. However, waiting at the lift a senior member of staff walked by and greeted us both. It is so important that the receptionists are friendly, welcoming and informative as they provide the first impression for the hotel. We are glad though the other staff members made up for this completely for the rest of our stay. Our room was located on a higher floor which we requested with a sea view which was amazing. The bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished and was really nice with the regular complimentary toiletries included. There was a fluffy white robe hanging on the back of the door but only one, which if there are two people in the room shouldn't there be two? The breakfast the following day was really lovely they offered us a choice of tables including sitting in the conservatory which we loved. It was so quiet and relaxing and our waitress was absolutely lovely, I wished I had her name to mention her in my review. The location for the hotel was very good near enough to the Town Center that you could walk there easily but far enough that it is quiet at night when you want to rest, and you can't forget the beach literally right on your door step! For places to eat we highly recommend The Holiday Inn Fish Restaurant for fish and chips on Carlisle Road, Mr Hau Chinese Restaurant on Terminus Road, he also has a takeaway on the same road a store down from his restaurant and Anema e core for pizza. I'll leave separate reviews for those restaurants under their names. Overall I would definitely come back to the hotel if we were ever in Eastbourne again. It was a lovely stay!

A pleasant hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Our bedroom had an excellent sea view it was clean and a reasonable size. The restaurant and bar are both very good. Reasonable priced for seaside hotel.

Immaculately clean and well furnished small hotel right on the promenade overlooking a quiet spot of the lovely pebble beach.

Smart restaurant with a conservatory to catch the morning sun with good service.

Interesting photos and historical ephemera adorning walls and bar area.

You are in a hotel run by an experience hotelier and his team and it shows!

Nice hotel but nothing too special. Room is clean and spacey , shower was not very good though as it's not got much pressure to it to took a long time to shower.
Good wifi connection.
They have a nice outdoor seating area at the front of the hotel where you can admire the sea view

What a great example of a top quality English coastal hotel! We were in an executive sea view room on the second floor. Lovely view of the sunset and even better listening to the waves lapping and watching the sunrise without leaving the bed the next morning. The decor and amenities in the room were very good and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was top quality and whilst we didn't eat any other meals at the hotel during our overnight stay the restaurant was packed so suggested it was of the same good quality. All in all a lovely stay. We are a couple in our forties and this suited our needs perfectly so yes we do recommend and yes we will be back!

Had an amazing cream tea at the Langham Hotel for a friend's birthday. Sandwiches, cakes and scones were beautifully presented and the waiting staff were exceptional. We would definitely go back as this compares very favourably (if not better) to other offers of cream tea from other hotels in Eastbourne!

We were welcomed by very nice reception staff, the superior room had a great view of the sea and was clean and comfortable but no bath! Eek! I am afraid that I did expect a bath for a superior room.
We ate dinner in the restaurant- ask to be seated in the small front area as the main restaurant had a party in it. My partner had the steak - rare- and it was really good! My fish was nicely done and the portions were of a good size. The wine was excellent!
Waiting staff were really helpful, polite and had been well trained.

Hotel is good, food excellent and well presented. Very polite staff. The only downfall was the bathroom in room 103, very very small bathroom and very claustrophobic. Would advise anyone given this room to ask for an alternative straight away, wish I had now. The room was clean.

Eastbourne is a bit funny. You will find both the Langham and Hilton hotels here.
Yet both hotels don't belong to these chains and are far removed for what you would expect. Especially the Langham.
We had a superior room which was pokey, dated, really noisy, same goes for the bathroom. Is it too much to ask to invest in double glazing and sound proofing?
At least it was clean and had a nice view.
Downstairs and on level one of the hotel smells of the goings-on in the kitchen and not in a good way.
At least the staff in hotel are very friendly, helpful and polite. The view from the lounge and restaurant are fantastic. The hotel has adequate off site parking.
If this is the number one hotel in Eastbourne, one only has to wonder that the others are like?

On arrival the room was very clean, we got a very nice welcome. Dinner was very well presented and well served, the next day breakfast was the same. As the week went on the service deteriorated and the weightier/waitress' didn't seem to care about the quality/service that was deserved. Apart from that a very good hotel.

Stayed over Eastbourne for one night and stayed over at the Langham. Reception staff not that friendly but reasonably priced at around 70 pounds for an double room which was very comfortable, modern and clean.
Breakfast was average and the hotel had an Italian dining theme. Waiter very friendly and the service here of good standard. This hotel benefits from regular entertainment which is advertised at the front of the hotel.

Telephoned late evening on 28th July on the offchance that I might be able to book a table for 2 on the following day. A very plesant voice on the telephone assured me that there would not be a problem and the booking was made. On arrival on 29th the receptionist directed us to the restaurant where we were met by a smiling waitress and shown to a table for two situated on the enclosd veranda.Throughout the meal we were attended by the same waitress who ensured that we had whatever we needed. An interesting and varied menu was offered to us and drinks were arranged. Food was hot, cooked to our preference and nicely presented. We were able to enjoy the meal whilst watching the activities of persons using the promenade and the small yacht regatta taking place. The surprise came at the end of the meal when, both unexpected and unrequested, a complete birthday cake, complete with lighted candles, was brought to the table. This was included as a free addition to the evening and no charge included. Thank you Langam staff, and especially our young waitress, for ensuring that the evening was a great success

We have just spent six nights at the Langham, and i couldn't really fault it.
We had a room with a sea view & it was excellent, a good size, comfy bed & beautiful bathroom, but best of all was the view.
The food & menu in the restaurant couldn't be faulted & the same goes for the service, all the staff in the hotel were very friendly & couldn't have been more helpful.
Overall a great stay & would 100% recommend the Langham.
Thanks to all the staff, keep it up.

The hotel has benefitted from an upgrading of facilities over the last year making it very comfortable throughout. The cookery and its presentation are first class, served by a very willing and helpful staff. Facilities are good throughout and nothing seems to be too much trouble, when any request is made. The option of meals in the sea-facing conservatory has to be a winner at any time of the year, strongly recommend you do.

My wife and I have just returned from staying at the Langham Hotel Eastbourne. Simply a wonderful hotel. It is family run and clearly they have put their heart and soul into it. The staff are some of the best trained we have encounted. When we asked them about the hotel they spoke highly of the owners, freely and openly, telling us what a good place it was to work and this was demonstrated by their attitude in doing their job. We had a superior double without sea view. It was spotless. It was kept spotless. Complimentary bottles of water every day was a nice touch. Pity the TV was so small but that's knit picking. It was hot (and wet at times) and the window only opened a few inches. A fan in the room would have been greatly appreciated. We ate at the hotel every night and the food was exceptional. Try the muscles and fish and chips, wonderful. Breakfast was likewise, very nice and always hot and as much as you wanted . When you order tea or coffee it comes with complimentary home made flapjacks or shortbread, great touch.
This is a great hotel and we highly recommend it.

This was the fourth time that I have stayed here which in itself, speaks volumes. The hotel is positioned opposite the sea with close access to all facilities within Eastbourne. It is tastefully decorated with exceptional staff all of which are courteous and friendly. Breakfast is lovely - no self-service here! Instead you are provided with ample choice and waiter / waitress service and the quality of food is very high. The restaurant is lovely with a conservatory at the front overlooking the sea. I did have a problem with the shower; however, upon discussing the issue with the Manager (who was very apologetic and friendly) the matter was resolved in a highly satisfactory manner. I can fully understand why this hotel has achieved the accolade of a four-star rating. I will definitely return.

We have recently returned home after a trip back to the Langham. I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We are regulars at the Langham and the staff cant do enough to help you and make your stay more enjoyable. Our room as always was excellently appointed, we always book a superior room as we like to enjoy its modern conveniences, flat screen TV, newly refurbished bathroom and bedroom with lovely furniture to match. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and its nice to have a hotel that serves guests at the table rather than a buffet where things are sitting out, a real fresh breakfast!

Thank you again to the team at the Langham we will both be back again soon!

We booked this last minute and got a good rate. Room was clean but quite small and very dated only suitable for us for the one night. Breakfast was good in the morning and service very quick. Other hotel facilities are good and a 10 minute walk into town.

We stayed at this hotel for one night to celebrate our anniversary and booked the Honeymoon Suite with a sea view. The room was very spacious with a very comfortable four poster, desk, dressing table and chair as well as 2 armchairs and table set up on the huge floor to ceiling bay window with superb views of the sea and pier. There was even a decanter each of sherry and port which we availed
ourselves of!
Despite it being a particularly
hot day, we left the windows open and were amazed at how quiet it was when the main road was just outside. As there was a wedding on, we had afternoon tea in the bar/lounge area rather than the main room but enjoyed our tea and scones taking in the view out to sea.
We ate out with friends in the evening so our only 'meal'
was breakfast. It was very tasty but the only niggle with our stay was the very slow service and people who had arrived after us were being seen to first. I appreciate it was busy as there were wedding guests staying but they must have been expecting the numbers at breakfast but didn't appear to have made arrangements to increase staff levels.
Overall, a lovely hotel - and they could do with another card machine to speed up checkout at the compact reception area.

Just returned to The Langham and as I expected, Staff, Rooms and Food excellent. If anything probably gone up a notch. Now a **** Star establishment. A real credit to Wendy & Neil Kirby and Manager Simon. All the Staff really make you feel welcome (Just wish they would call me 'Gary' rather than 'Mr Todd').
Go on, If you are planning a Trip to the South Coast, Eastbourne is the town to go to & The Langham Hotel is the place to book into, They always are doing special Deals. The Food is of the Highest order, Never yet had any reason to Complain !

Right on the front with a nice sea view close to the war museum. Nice welcoming and friendly staff. Not a huge room but bathroom spacious and comfortable bed. Advice: come down early for breakfast so you get a nice table in the conservatory. Any later and you'll be swept aside by the elderly coach parties or the on-tour senior bowls teams. Must say that I was not impressed with Eastbourne which looked rather shabby in the evening

I would recommend the Langham for a good beak.

So I decided to book this hotel for my partners birthday as we were going to watch a concert at the bandstand. . We only stayed for one night in an upgraded sea view room and it was just perfect.
I booked an afternoon cream tea and they even catered for my gluten free diet with freshly made GF scones.
Nothing was too much trouble, we were booked a parking space for our arrival at £7 and we booked straight in on arrival.
The staff were extremely pleasant, polite and courteous.
The room was gorgeous, with fantastic sea views, well designed, huge shower, very comfortable bed and a dressing area.
The breakfast again was fabulous, with everything being freshly cooked.
On booking out we were even offered a bottle of water each for our journey home!!
If I had to mention of couple of points, which are ever so minor, the hotel need to get their own pens not use plain bic ones in the rooms and small jars of condiments are much better than the plastic portions of conserve served at the breakfast table.

I popped in off the street for a takeaway coffee, they had never been asked for this before, so they set to work!

After a search for the cups, I was served a piping hot And really tasty coffee, this was produced with fabulous service, a smile as if all they wanted to do was please.

Good effort, I'll come back to stay sometime. Thank you
